* You are aware that they cannot possibly bring Lesnar in for a nearly excessive amount of time, right.? Once the judge rules against the WWE in the trial regarding the no-compete clause (and everything points to that happening) Brock would be free to go anywhere. It would be a question of if they can afford him.

With Sabu no-showing...I wouldn't mind seeing Joe vs. Homicide. They put on some great matches in ROH...although Homicide isn't established yet in the X Division to put them in the ring yet.

I'd bring Brock Lesnar in before I would Orton. Brock's more established, and he would give TNA more mainstream credibility. Orton's not quite there yet...and TNA doesn't need that headache.

Movies that everyone loves that you cannot get the love for

I have a few...will go all over the place here. Van Wilder...my wife brings this home one night when I was sick, the guy at the rental store told her that since I loved Animal House I'd like it. I wanted to find that kid that recommended it so I could beat him about the head and shoulders with it. The jokes seemed forced to me. Titanic...ship sinks, lot of people die. Making a love story about a disaster just doesn't work...look also at "Pearl Harbor." Brokeback Mountain...don't care for it, I'm not much of a love story person. Don't matter if it's man-woman, woman-man, man-man, woman-woman..or man-woman-cat...Don't care, don't want to see it. Grease...the whole world loves it...but I just don't get it. -
Arn vs. Hulk Hogan on Nitro...I marked out like a mother when Double A beat the Hulkster.

Funny thing about all this...Mexico's president Fox says illegal immigration benefits America...but his country is tougher on illegals than we are. Even naturalized citizens can't hold office among other things. That's a hypocritical line of BS if you ask me. For those who want to come to this country, pay their fair share, and do things the right way...I welcome them with open arms. After all, the majority of us in the US had immigrants in our family tree that came here to make a better life for themselves. But if you have to break the law and come in illegally, then I want your ass out the door. And don't give me this line of crap about comparing this to the civil rights movement. There is zero comparison. The system is broken...first they need to make the process more efficient so they can get to the applications faster. Next...a fence all along the southern border (and northern one, too). Next, I would be cracking down on the companies that hire illegals...start fining them, and maybe if needed throw a CEO or two in jail for it. If it starts hurting them in the wallet, the companies will think twice about hiring them. Finally, I would cut off all aid and all means of assistance to illegal immigrants. You do that and I'm sure a lot of them will leave on their own without using taxpayers money. And don't tell me they have rights to these...the Constitution is for American citizens, not people who broke its laws by entering illegally. But of course our President and Congress don't have the fucking balls to act, and it makes me sick. They're more worried about a few more votes when the same porous borders also lead to the infiltration of Islamo-fascists who want to destroy America and turn us into an Islamic state.

The profit thing is the main reason Vince has no desire to change the way the product is going right now...he has no obligation to unless his profits start going down the toilet. I'm one of many to blame I'm sure...I still watch in spite of the fact the split was a horrible decision and knew that WCW-ECW wrestlers were going to get buried like crazy. I accept this as I'm a wrestling fan and it's in my blood. No matter what I'm still going to watch. Sad but true.

A major April Fool's gag involving Bret Hart to go down?
BruiserKC replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
I'm torn on this one...on the one hand this is a huge deal for Vince. This is the one part of the business that Vince treats very seriously. On the other hand, it is April Fool's Day and we're talking about the same man who thought a retarded wrestler gimmick was a GREAT idea. -
It can't be the coolest person tournament without Chuck Norris.

I remember in high school we had whatever we wanted freshman year...you could do the healthy or the artery-clogging. They eventually took away most of the unhealthy shit with the exception of burgers and hot dogs if you didn't happen to like the school lunch that day. Didn't matter because they allowed a lot of kids to go off campus for lunch so they could find the junk food they wanted elsewhere.

One legacy Tagliabue left behind that Selig, Bettman, and Stern can't say...no labor problems or battles. Yes, the last labor extension was a battle but Tags and Upshaw both realized that for the good of the league they had to get something done. They knew that with the baseball strike in '94 and the NHL cancelling an entire season fans wouldn't stand for that...most popular league or not.

Some of the best UNLV teams from the 80s and early 90s were from when the Runnin' Rebels were in the Big West. Memphis State was a FF team from the Metro in '85 (only non Big-East team that year), and Louisville won it all in '86 from the Metro.

The OAO RAW Thread for March 20, 2006
BruiserKC replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
Stereotypes have been a part of wrestling, TV, movies...forever. The good (and bad) of characters are exaggerated to entertain us. Been that way since day one. I think it's funny how just a month or so ago everyone seemed to love Shelton's mama. And now the gimmick is crap because Vince crammed it down our throats (much like Eugene was presented a couple of years ago). Speaking of Vince...it smells of desperation that Vince will step into the ring with Cena. This is obviously his last chance at trying to turn the boos to cheers, that Cena is the next incarnation of Stone Cold Steve Austin. -
I remember that. There was something extremely disturbing and wrong about watching Abdullah the Butcher rubbing up on Ron Simmons. That was like watching Kamala's face-turn. Some things just should NEVER be considered.

Packer's just bitter he doesn't have the chance to wrap his mouth around Roy Williams' meat. The ACC was down this year, the Big 12 was down this year (Kansas fan here in hoops), hell the Big Ten fell flat on their face. 6 teams in and not one playing past the first weekend. Meanwhile, the evil Missouri Valley has as many teams in the Sweet 16 as Packer's beloved ACC does. Perhaps the committee knew what they were talking about. Also...take a look at the trend the last 10 years or so...the gap between the mid-majors and the majors is closing. As a Jayhawks fan, I have to admit Bradley took KU to the woodshed. Then they did the same to a very good Pitt team. Yes the Braves only won by 4 and 6, but the games weren't really that close. Gonzaga is no longer just a Cinderella in high-tops, they're a legit threat to get to the Sweet 16 every year. Hell, Albany is sticking it to UConn for 30 minutes in their game, that would have been a pyromaniac's wet dream doing a bonfire for all those brackets that would have been shit if Albany had somehow pulled the W. The time is coming when we will once again soon see teams from the smaller conferences getting to the Elite Eight and the Final Four.

I'll watch just because it's Wrestlemania...definitely catch it free at Hooters.

Bret Hart's legacy is pretty secure. He was somewhat of a throwback, to the days when you could tell the story in the ring with wrestling, not with a cartoon gimmick. He was definitely one of my all-time favorites, he used psychology better than most wrestlers are able to do so. What is really important to note, IMHO, is that while Bret was forced to retire, that meant he didn't stick around longer than he should have. Ric Flair's legacy today is becoming severely tarnished by his sticking around WAY longer than he needed to be. Yes, Flair can still go but watching Flair-Edge or Flair-Benjamin is not like watching Flair-Windham or Flair-Steamboat. Jerry Lawler was a solid wrestler in the 80s, now he's either cannon-fodder for jobbers or a kid in puberty with his lust for breasteseseses. As for the Montreal screwjob...I think most of us wish Vince would just let it die.

Are we currently witnessing the complete and total decay of society?
BruiserKC replied to spman's topic in General Chat
Every generation has this clash with the previous one...it's the way of the world. My parents were told by their parents that rock n' roll was the music of the devil and would lead to all sorts of debauchery. My parents told me that heavy metal music would turn me into a Satan-worshipping freak. I'm sure when my kids get of that age I'll be telling them how the music fad of the day is going to warp their little minds and lead them to live under a bridge and eat beans. What's really decaying society is the lack of personal responsibility. You have parents who don't want to teach their children this, so they expect the teachers at school to do this for them. That is, until the teacher actually tries to do it and then the parents want to sue the school. Welfare mothers can pop out kids whenever the hell they want...I thought they were trying to end welfare. Shit...the people that are running this country right now are supposedly about less government? The government has grown in the last 25 years at a pace unheard of, partly because people are so fucking lazy they want the government to do everything for them. -
I know he wasn't WWE...but if you're including greatest managers, no list is complete without General Skandor Akbar.

All sports are regionalized to an extent and it depends on what's important or at the higher levels. Example, here in Iowa...no major league sports so the majority of sports talk is Iowa, Iowa State, and occasional mix of Northern Iowa. In Chicago where they have all the pro sports there will be the talk of Bears, Cubs, and White Sox before Notre Dame or Northwestern get any mention. As for baseball, football has been the number one sport for about the last 40 years...baseball was THE THING in sports for about 100 years before then. Baseball still has deep roots in our history...deeper than football.
