In all this, I think we forgot if Saint is still around. After realizing Leena's not hooking up with him he must be hanging from a shower rod somewhere. Saint must be devastated.

Now why the hell would you want to go and make sense for?

Didn't Vince go through this with the Taz/TazZ thing when the Human Suplex Machine first came to the WWE? I remember Turner threw a fit and since he owned the rights to Warner Brothers Vince couldn't use Taz? In spite of the fact he was under that name for years with ECW with nary a peep.

I'd be cool with no army as long as everyone played nicely together or if they didn't get along they'd stay in their little corner of the playground and leave us alone. Until then...that ain't happening. Politically, I'm libertarian. Abortion...personally I think it's murder and it's wrong, but won't take that right away from women. Free Speech...all for it. If you disagree with someone, great, that's your right. Let all ideas out into the open and let people see whose right and who are blithering idiots. Gay Rights...What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home, bedroom, hotel room, etc...is their business. This goes for hetero as well as homo couples. But I would do away with all marriages...let the church marry people if it's in the eyes of God. Drugs...Most illegal drugs are stupid anyway. But I suppose if they want to kill off their brain cells it's on them. Religion...I'm Roman Catholic, and I think priests that molest children should be castrated, along with the higher-ups in the Church that enabled them. As for separation of church and state, the Forefathers that wrote the Constitution meant for it to be to avoid endorsing a specific religion, not to wipe all mention of it away everywhere. Out in public we should be free to worship as we see fit. I'm OK with the Ten Commandments on display outside the courthouse per we were founded on Judeo-Christian philosophy...but I'd be more nervous walking into a judge's chambers and seeing pictures of Jesus. That says more of an endorsement to me. Affirmative Action...The best person for the job gets it...black, white, green, or orange striped. Welfare...Eventually it needs to be done away with, or lessen the amount given so it gives more incentive for people to actually get out to find a job. Israel...both sides need to figure it out, but it amazes me how it seems people just expect Israel to do everything in this. The UN gave the Palestinians their own land in 1948 when they divvied things up, they wanted Israel pushed into the sea. At this point I could care less if Palestine ever gets their land. Foreign Policy...We need to do what is in our best interests first. I'm tired of doing things for the rest of the world only to get it thrown back in our face. America first, without question. I don't care to democratize the whole world as long as the nations that don't want it leave us alone. War is an absolute last resort, but when it becomes needed then you don't play politics. You fight to win the war and leave no doubt what happens when America is messed with. Campaign Finance Reform...While I object to companies that shell out millions so politicians do what's in their best interests, it's part of the game. Term Limits...They don't work. We saw this with Clinton's last term, see it now with the Dubya's last term. Nothing gets done since there is no real incentive to do anything per they don't have to runa gain. Plus, even their own party starts to tune them out. Gun Control...people kill people. Controlling guns doesn't solve that. Plus, I'm a hunter myself. Why the hell do we need more gun control laws when the twits running things don't enforce the ones already on the books? Death Penalty...might surprise people as I am libertarian...but I support it. The ultimate right we have as people is the right to live. If you take that right away, I have no sympathy for you. Iraq...Saddam had to go and the UN wasn't going to do it. As for the WMD's, we may have screwed up but we went on the intelligence the rest of the world had. We need to finish the job and at least leave the country somewhat stable before leaving. The Islamo-fascists will rule it as a victory if we pull out before the job is done. The Pledge/Prayer...Nothing requires you to say the Pledge. If a kid in school doesn't want to say it, they should go to the teacher and resolve it that way. As for prayer, silent prayer in school should be fine. You're not hurting anyone else. Immigration...I embrace anyone who comes into this country wanting to make a better life for themselves or going back to their homeland and making it a better place after being here to work or go to school. However...you do it legally, if you're an illegal immigrant and I had my way I'd ship you out.

Some names you guys are forgetting... Ted DiBiase...especially in his Million Dollar Man days Sid Vicious...in his early years Vicious has the awesome intense shaking monster promo thing down pat. Gino Hernandez Captain Lou Albano

Rude/Warrior/Hogan. Also from the NWA of the mid to late 80s... Flair/Rhodes/Windham would have made sense.

Entertainment is subjective anyway. You and I are probably the types that would be entertained by a 45-minute battle between Angle and Benoit. There are others who would see that and fall asleep. Some are entertained by watching the divas, some aren't. Simple solution...don't like the divas, don't watch. Change the channel.

Gotta add Miss Brenda Britton and Dark Journey to that list. Women in wrestling have always been designed to be beautiful. Even the more prominent actual wrestlers like Madusa, Wendi Richter, Magnificent Mimi, Misty Blue Simmes, and Desiree Peterson to name a few...were there for the eye candy predominantly. Vince knows this...that's why the divas are more over the top as far as sexuality is concerned. That's why I usually go get a snack about the time the diva matches come on...get my fill of eye candy for a second and then go for a beer.

Is it time to start wondering if Manning will ever win the Super Bowl? With the Patriots knocked out, home field advantage, a team that had everything pretty much in place for the run to Detroit...there was no reason to not get to the Super Bowl at least. Not to mention that they got the benefit of an interception that wasn't called (the officiating seems to get worse every year) and a Christmas present wrapped in the form of Bettis' fumble. Peyton Manning is overrated, and I'm tired of people talking about how great he is when he chokes in the clutch. Bettis on the goal line? Right call to make IMO. You're up by 3, Colts have all their timeouts and Manning has the means to take them downfield in a hurry for a score. Finish the job...it was a fluke deal that the helmet bonked Bettis in the hand and the ball came loose. As a Bears fan...I think I'm going to cringe for a while everytime I hear the name "Steve Smith" for the next few weeks. Everytime Carolina needed a big play, Smith came through. Much props to the Panthers...da Bears were a year ahead of schedule. Now the interesting question...Orton or Grossman for next year?

IRL Linda was his wife...and what made the gimmick work for Street is that he pissed off the crowd with his feminine antics...then opened up a can of whoop-ass once in the ring. That made people want to see someone rip him apart that much more.

The Shield, season 5, official thread
BruiserKC replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
This is one of the best fucking shows they've put on TV in years...if this is the end I'm bummed but this show hasn't disappointed. I've been a huge fan since day one when Vic beat the shit out of the pedophile. It felt like Vic was back to his old self when they kicked the snot out of the kid who decided to go EC Dub with the crucifix in the church. Whitaker's character seems every bit as twisted as Mackey is. I'm looking forward to their first one-on-one. Plus, I see Mackey and Aceveda colliding at one point when possibly Mackey gets hold of something regarding when Aceveda was forced to perform oral on the inmate that got whacked by Antwoine last season. -
OK...first of all...I was a huge Jim Ross fan going back to his days in Mid-South and the UWF. For 20 years of my wrestling-watching life I saw JR through his days in the Mid-South, UWF, NWA, WCW and then WWF/E. I would put Ross up there only behind Gordon Solie as far as all-time wrestling play-by-play men. He and Lawler were together as an announcing team for over 10 years. People looked forward to JR and Lawler on RAW on Monday nights...it was part of the experience of watching the show. JR is a wrestling legend, even though he got stale at the end when all he shilled was BBQ sauce. Joey Styles has some big shoes to fill...he's replacing a well-known name and he is not of the same style that JR is. That's OK...as a fan of his in ECW I don't expect him to be JR Junior, I expect him to be Joey Styles. He's only done the full-time gig for about a month now, the team needs time to gel and mesh. People gripe because he's not JR...if he was trying to be JR they'd gripe also. Yes, he's calling the match...but that's what a play-by-play guy does...call the match. That's what guys like Al Michaels, Marv Albert, Ron Franklin, Gary Thorne, etc...are supposed to do. You leave the color and the stories to guys like Dick Vitale, John Madden, Tim McCarver, etc. If Vince was smart, he'd give them at least six months to get to be familiar with Coach-Lawler-Styles in the booth and then evaluate where we stand and go from there. One month doesn't tell the story and we shouldn't be quick to throw him out because he's not Jim Ross reincarnate.

Tim White spoiler - I know you can't wait to know.
BruiserKC replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
Yes. That mean that the McMahons will stamp their feet and shove it down the fans throats for shitting on an idea they loved. The same thing happend with Katie Vick. I'd complain but it only seems to make them worse. Does that mean then that we all need to say it's the greatest gimmick ever...and then Vince will yank it because the IWC is all for it? Seriously...what exactly is Vince trying to do with this angle? Is Tim White the reincarnation of Rasputin for crying out loud? Everytime I think Vince can't do any worse than he has, he surprises me again and does something to top all the other stupidity he's given us before. Katie Vick, Kane doing the bondage thing with RVD and hooking up a cable to Shane McMahon's family jewels, pulling stuff out of JR's ass, blowing up Eddie's lowrider...and now we have Tim White killing himself off a million different ways each week. There are times I wonder if Vince has really lost it or he just is convinced to throw something on that we might actually laugh at. -
I know we've all learned to say "Never Say Never" when it comes to wrestling...like Vince giving ECW a PPV or Hulk Hogan getting one final World title run, etc...but I think it's safe to say that we will NEVER, EVER, EEEEEEVER, see Bret Hart in a WWE ring again.

That's what it reminded me of as well. The 24/7 media era we are living in has made me lose confidence in ANYTHING that's reported until I've seen sufficient proof that backs up what they say. Last night when I heard all 12 were alive I wasn't convinced until I saw them brought up out of the ground and for once it seems my pessimism was confirmed. Terrible tragedy, though, for the victims families and they are already talking lawsuit, which considering the mine's past history of violations seems to have a good chance of winning. Well, what happened is an example of the media getting ahead of itself so it can beat everyone else to the punch to get the story out. All the news channels, TV stations, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, etc...falling all over each other to get the story out without...HEAVEN FUCKING FORBID!...the facts getting in the way.

There's really not much else to add here. A great college football season ends with one of the greatest games of all-time. It actually exceeded the hype if that's possible. Now we just start the countdown to 2006.

Greenway was not offsides, damn it! It was obvious Iowa was not offsides on that first onside kick. They need to start having the officiating crews be a combo from the two conferences being represented in the bowl...not this crap of Conference USA officiating teams they're not familiar with.

I got over the song after my neighbor's 17-year-old daughter had to play the song repeatedly this summer.
-
For boxing...there's just something about Teddy Atlas that just rubs me the wrong way. Perhaps it's that thick-ass New York accent where I can barely make out half the words he says.
-
Badstreet USA...now that was the best theme song ever, IMHO. When Hayes came to the ring for the gimmick battle royal to that song at WM 17 I marked out like nobody's business.

100 things we didn't know this time last year
BruiserKC replied to Dewe's topic in General Wrestling
That we never fully realized the stroke that Jeff Jarrett has in TNA and that he can still have a stranglehold on the NWA World title in spite of the rest of the wrestling world getting tired of it. Triple H could actually go most of the year without regaining a title after dropping the World title to Batista. Ric Flair could have what basically will be his final title run...and it actually has lasted longer than expected. -
Dick Vitale...you would think this one-eyed, bald Italian would open up the brown eye for both Coach K and Roy Williams and anything ACC related...ditto with Billy Packer. Also...I'm a diehard Cardinals fan...but Mike Shannon on radio has got to go. Especially his annoying laugh at times especially when something important is happening. On the fave side...I like Ron Franklin and Gary Thorne. For color commentary...I've started to really enjoy Fran Fraschilla.
-
I can see it now...remember the Machines back in the 80s? You could have Huge Mofo, Super Mofo, and Giant Mofo. Seriously...Vince sees big guy, probably the workrate of a bottle of Pepsi...and he sees instant ratings. Then again...he needs to quit sniffing glue.

There are so many theories and ideas of how and when the world is coming to an end it's not even funny. People say the UN is where the anti-Christ comes, the Catholics are an evil cult, someone's ham sandwich has to portray a reflection of this or that...hell...I'm sure there's one out there that might consider this board to be a sign of the end times. All I know is I'm not worried about when the world comes to an end. If it happens, it happens.

I mean not to have to worry about being politically correct. Example...the whole ordeal in Najaf with Al-Sadr and his cronies holed up in the shrine taking potshots at our troops. In times of war, the second a church, school, etc...becomes a military installation or is used as one, it loses its protection and can be taken out. In the case of this shrine, you give them fair warning to get out...then if they won't you blow the son of a bitch up. But heaven forbid if we do that...we're the bad guys even though they were the ones who have defaced one of Islam's holiest shrines. I don't cheer for war, don't get me wrong. Loss of life is horrible, although unavoidable. But the idea in war should be for us to strike hard and win. We're more interested in world opinion than winning this thing. To me, it would seem to reason that if we strike at the Iraqi insurgency viciously enough that it might be enough to break its back. But we can't seem to do that without the UN, Amnesty International, or some other group whining about the tactics used.
