    Violence IS the answer?

Violence to me should be the ABSOLUTE last resort when all else has failed. Then, if you have to do it, as my dad used to say, "Flat out kick his ass, let him know he had the chance to walk and now its too late." Example...few days ago I'm stopping by a friend of mine's place after work. She and I have been friends for years and we are fairly close. I am there to pick up the Christmas card and latest picture of her kids (if I hadn't gone over I'd be waiting until fucking Easter for them, she's not always remembering). We talk for about a half hour or so...and then it's time for me to go. She gives me a hug...and it's one of those hugs that lasts a few seconds longer than normal...the ones you give your SO or your closest friends. At that moment, her boyfriend happens to walk in and he goes into orbit for some God-known reason. He's known me, not as a friend but he knows I've been friends with his woman for a long time. Apparently he's going through this issue lately of being jealous as one of his best friends said he's had a crush on his woman for the longest time. As much as I love my friend, I'm not even on the list of guys who would take her away. I'm talking to him, trying to calm him down...her kids are also there and they're scared. As I'm walking towards the door to bow out, he approaches me and I can sense it. I turn around (I'm about 3 inches and 50 pounds bigger than him) and tell him, "If you even think of putting your hands on me, pal, I will tear your head right off your shoulders and beat your ass with it. I'm sorry if you're having issues with your security...but you'll definitely have health concerns if you are stupid enough to hit me." He does nothing, and I walk for the door...first stopping to give her kids a hug and let her little girls know it's OK. If he had taken a swing, would I have kicked his ass all over the place...ab-so-fucking-lutely. Of course, I would try to not let it reach that point first. But if it happens, then it's on.

Any idea when RVD is gonna return?

If they let RVD be the RVD he was in ECW...spots and all...then everyone could see that Van Dam had the ability and the means to be a main event character for the WWE. Alas, Vince would never allow it since he never created him.

    Teenage Suicide

Suicide should never be an answer...it's the easy way out and life ain't always easy. At the same time, it's a lot easier for me to say it now, being quite a few years removed from my teen years. For teenagers it can be pretty tough...for the first 12 years or so we're pretty sheltered for the most part. The teen years give us the first real taste of the outside world, the world we will enter soon without the protection of our parents. For some it's a huge shock, some adapt better than others.

    The United States Military

We're doing a great job over there...at least we're giving the people in Iraq and Afghanistan a chance to make their own choices, and at least the terrorists aren't blowing up buses in New York or Chicago. Too bad we have clueless administration who should just take the handcuffs off our troops and let them do their jobs. For everyone screaming about how they should be home...if we let them kick ass as only our military knows how to do they'd be home well before today.

    Hopkins/Jones Set For March 11th...

It's funny...at one point Hopkins had no problem with mixing it up. Now it's as if he doesn't want to break a nail or something when he's in the ring. Jones has always been the type who never wants to get a glove laid on him...he'll backpedal and do everything short of run, especially in the later rounds. I'm in agreement with most here...I used to be a huge Hopkins fan but I'm just not feeling shelling out $50 for this one. I suppose I can head to Hooters and watch it for the cost of some wings and a pitcher.

    Happy New Year's everyone

2006 has already jumped the shark. Seriously...New Year's Eve is extremely overrated. If it wasn't for the fact I was at a party last night for some family friends' wedding anniversary (they always combine New Year's Eve and their anniversary per they married on New Year's Day) I'd stay home, order a pizza, down a couple of beers, quality time with the Mrs., and probably sack out before midnight.

    2005: How was your year?

Got a promotion in January Watching my daughter (born Nov. 04) grow too damn fast Went to Alaska over the summer Arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder in September In October started to suddenly have to deal with a lot of shit from my past caught up to me...but in the process became closer to my best friend and a couple of her friends. Most of the year decent...grade-wise 2005 gets a B minus.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

Hardcore Hak (aka Sandman) in WCW. Road Warriors appearance in 1996 in WCW...beat the Steiners on the Nitro that brought Scott Hall to begin the run of the NWO if I remember right...and left shortly after. The Shockmaster...can't forget him.

    Christy Hemme is

agreed! Never thought Triple H would be the type to perform a chili dog on his woman. If he is...I don't know if that improves my opinion of him or not.
  11. It's obvious Jarrett is trying to portray the heel champ Flair was in his prime. The champion people pay to see get his ass kicked, only to piss everyone off and walk away the champ again. Samoa Joe can be a great bad-ass champ...people cheer him because he kicks everyone's ass. If TNA does it right, he could be the future of the company.

    Places For Outside WWE Events

Outdoor ideas...I'm very surprised no one has mentioned Yankee Stadium. Another idea might be US Cellular Field or Wrigley Field in Chicago.

You would think by now Jeff Hardy could get beyond being the pioneer of the "Color By Numbers" match.

    Michelle Branch Sucks Dick

Sounds like another example of someone trying to go against the system...only to be sucked in to being part of the system. Michelle Branch is the latest victim...we now observe a moment of silence. OK, moment's over.

    Fix the UN

The UN needs to stop putting nations in charge of certain committees and such that make no sense. For example...putting Cuba or Iran at the head of the Human Rights committees is ridiculous. They want to give everyone a turn...but this ain't Little League people.

    Gary Barnett out at Colorado

What's funny as hell about this was last year when he was voted Big 12 coach of the year and I read somewhere they talked about his overcoming adversity. Ironic considering it was his fault the adversity took place to start with.
  20. I'm a libertarian politically. The less government in my life, the better. I understand you have to have government in some capacity for the basics, but it seems over the last 70 years or so government gets bigger and bigger. Even less-government pundits like Reagan and the Dubya have led to the largest growth of government in these last 25 years alone. But to me the biggest problem comes to light when FCC Chairman Kevin Martin recently talked about forcing over-the-air and cable networks to clean up their programming before the government steps in and does it for them. My philosophy is simple...vote with your remote. I find something that I find objectionable, offensive, or sucks...I change the channel or turn off the TV and do something else. Simple...something everyone can do, right? This quote really floored me...Martin said, "Of course you could turn off the TV or block all the unwanted channels, but why should you have to?" This floored me because it says to me, "You shouldn't have to take personal responsibility, let us do it for you." Are we to that point in the US of A that we have to let our government decide what to watch on the boob tube and what not to watch? I've come to the conclusion that groups like the PTC and folks like the Rev. Wildmon are just plain fucking lazy. Apparently some people are so tired of having to actually police what their kids watch so they want someone else to do it for them. To them I say..."It's your kids...THEREFORE IT'S YOUR FUCKING PROBLEM TO DECIDE WHAT TO WATCH!" Yes, I know that we have parents who just throw their kids in front of the TV and it becomes the babysitter, but that's on their head, not mine. And it goes back to the personal responsibility issue, especially for those of us who are parents. We don't want to teach our kids moral values, so we shuffle them off to school and let the teachers do it for us. Unless, of course...the teacher comes down hard on your child for actually misbehaving in class. Then they want to sue the school and get the teacher fired. No one seems to want to shoulder the load anymore...we pass the buck onto someone else. Now the TV folks are supposed to be the ones to make these decisions for us? And now that some people don't like the decisions of the TV folk, they want that changed as well. I don't expect the government to raise my family, I'll do it myself. I have no problem with monitoring what my kids watch and making sure of its content. I'll teach my family what's right and wrong so when they go to school the teachers can show them reading, writing, and all the stuff needed to make it in the world. Let the government run its business, and let me handle my own. If you have a parent who can't figure it out...tough shit on them. Don't make it my problem. We've replaced the liberal nanny state from the '90s with a "conservative" nanny state today...I really don't like either option.

When the hell did they ban the Pianist? They better not mess with the two-headed monster or the yip yip aliens or there will be some serious violence coming down.

FCC Chairman Gets My Blood Flowing

I find the welfare state as basically though "the government needs to do it for us, we're too lazy to do it ourselves." The paternalistic state is "the government needs to do it for you, you're too incompetent to do it yourself." Only difference is paternalism takes the choice out of our hands in a more forceful way then the welfare state. Both alternatives don't fly with me. The funny thing for the evangelists and their ilk, from what I've read, is that many of them are also against "a la carte" programming choices...since the majority of cable and satellite customers would probably not be selecting their channels to be on their package. For example...I subscribe to DirecTV and have about 165 channels...only about half of them I really watch. I don't watch Lifetime, I don't watch the shopping networks, don't watch the religious channels, etc. That would put the Robertsons, the Falwells, and the Crouches out of some serious $.
