The civil rights movement still has relevance in today's society. The problem are people like the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Farrakhan who twist it to meet their own ends. They're race-pimps. They play the race card to get their way...that's not what Dr. King had in mind.

I am a supervisor for call monitoring for a local bank...I had an employee that always seemed to be around the water cooler or the coffee maker and I always had to look for her to make sure she was doing her job. She would blow it off when I approached her about the issue so I decided to get creative. One night after she left, I took about 40 Dixie cups, taped them together and put them on her desk. Then, I filled them with cold coffee and water with a note..."Just thinking of you and this way you save time going to the break room all the time." Never had a problem with her after that.

WWE Writer: What are you supposed to be? Roadkill: A crazy amish guy WWE Writer: I see. Well, shave the goatee off, get some crazy colorful pants, a tan and lose some of that weight. Roadkill: But...I'm amish...that's pretty much my character WWE Writer: Don't worry, we got this butter churner for you to bring to the ring. It'll get over huge. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or better yet. Instead of a Chicken Plucker he'll be a Chicken Fucker. And can you just think of the skits that will come out of that gimmick. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Val Venis of the poultry set....BRILLIANT!

I thought the show was good for what it offered. It's not WWE, it shouldn't be made to look like WWE. It has to remain a completely different option, that's the only way it's going to survive. Samoa Joe-Liger could have gotten at least 15 minutes...but it does show Samoa Joe has what it takes to eventually be the centerpiece around what TNA would build its organization. Problem was the main event was thrown together...and it really was as what can you do at the last minute? I hope this is a wake-up call to the TNA booking committee to stop pinning your hopes on old, washed-up WWE has-beens to fill in the pieces. We've seen this since Day 1 when they'd rather fill big spots with Nash, DDP, etc...when they have guys like Daniels, Styles, and Monty Brown to build up to take the place of the Jarretts of the world here.

1. HBK-although somehow I see them hot-shotting Kane in here and throwing him right back into a World title mix he doesn't deserve to be in. 2. JBL and Mysterio...gives a twist since JBL and Mysterio are currently feuding and will be interesting to see if they can trust each other for this one. 3. Submission Match...Indian Death Lock vs. Figure-4...I'm hoping they put Flair over he deserves it after all these years but probably Triple H wins. 4. Street Fight...this is like the Hardy-Edge-Lita thing all over again, real-life politics getting in the way of wrestling. Austin's furious at how JR gets removed, Coach just sucks, and Vince is caught with his pants down after trying to get Mike Goldberg and failing. Besides, they're going to show Austin whipping someone's ass anyway. Plus...Austin winning is not a done deal...Austin may actually want himself written out of storylines if he's upset enough the way the JR angle was handled. 5. I would hope if I vote Mankind we get the Boiler Room one...but we'd probably get the corporate one. I suppose Cactus Jack will be my vote...but I don't care really as long as we get to see the real force behind Foleymania..MR. SOCKO! 6. Leather. Not that I really care, this will be the match where I drop the kids off at the pool, get some chow, etc.

I'd ditto that about Bernie Mac's show. He's not exactly exuding wholesome goodness in his comedy either. I'm rather surprised also that "Will and Grace" didn't make it back onto the list of worst shows...since after all the PTC thinks homosexuality is evil, etc. All reality shows suck anyway...I tried to get into Dancing With the Stars and was almost there until they jobbed Peterman out to one of their own network's biggest soap vixens. Can't tell me that wasn't rigged. I think that they're not actively campaigning against TV shows after Vince McMahon bitchslapped the PTC around in their battles. Ultimately, it's all about personal responsibility anyway to determine what you should and shouldn't watch. If you don't like something, vote with your remote. And I'm sure, PTC, that Stewie hates your asses too.

I think he was just bitter he didn't make Letterman's "Stupid Human Tricks" or the understudy to Gene Gene the Dancing Machine from the Gong Show.

BREAKING NEWS - KEVIN NASH IN HOSPITAL IN ORLANDO
BruiserKC replied to Jebus's topic in TNA Wrestling
This is being promoted as TNA's biggest show of the year. You should have a World title match as part of it. Here's how I'd book this tonight if I ran TNA's booking. In the pre-show 30 minutes, I'd announce the opening match as a 20-man over the top rope battle royal. Winner faces Jarrett for the title in the ME. It would be easy for whoever is booked to win to then scrap their match for tonight. And if this is legit, I'm trying real hard to avoid any jokes on Nash blowing out his quad at the buffet line. -
RIP to da Crusher...I'll listen to "The Beer Barrel Polka" and lower my head in rembrance. Then, I shall toast his memory tonight at BFG.

Any and all shows. WWE, WCW, ECW, ROH, local fed...whatever.

I give credit to PWTorch.com for this article...which caught my eye and rubbed me the wrong way. The Specialists -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPECIALIST - TNA: Time to score points by addressing the Jim Ross situation on Impact By Paul Madavi, Torch Team Contributor Oct 14, 2005, 08:18 Point The Finger TNA has a reputation as a talent friendly organization. The TNA locker-room is said to be one of the happiest, lacking many of the political machinations often associated with wrestling promotions. In fact, one of the best things TNA has going for them currently is that they’re refreshing environment to be in for wrestlers, and pro wrestling industry workers in general. There’s no ridiculous schedule. There’s no constant driving back and forth to arenas all over the country. Wrestlers are allowed to work their respective styles. And, perhaps most importantly, there are no on air “firings” of individuals who have given their lives to the business. There are no nut shots for company men who have literally worked themselves sick. In a business where it is seldom given even to the deserving, respect exists in TNA. They should say as much. Next Saturday, I would like nothing more than to have Mike Tenay kick off Impact, stand in the middle of that six sided gem of canvas and cable, look the camera square in its bulbous glass eye, and speak the truth about what happened to Jim Ross. Ross, who was demoted from calling TV matches for the other company, who became inflicted with Bells Palsy from the strain of his work and had it resurface twice while he was on the job, who is widely considered the best at what he does, was removed from his position, in one of the most vile, crass ways possible. Mike Tenay should say as much. Ross, who spent years and years putting over the other company’s stars and product, who never missed shows, who took part in angles that humiliated him on TV, who took taunts from his employer through his telecasting partner’s mouth on live TV, who did it all for the love of the job and the fans, was sent off the air, not with a warm farewell, streamers, and the deserving adulation of the fans and wrestlers. He was sent off the air on his knees, when he should have been lifted upon shoulders. Mike Tenay should say as much. Ross, who was tossed in the mud like pearls before swine, who was fired more than once, who can call a match like no other, who will no longer have a contract in roughly one year’s time, who so sorely deserves respect as the best at his job, would be most welcome in TNA. There would be no jokes about his face, a reminder of his dedication to the business. There would be no call to humiliate him on TV. There would be the honor and respect owed a person after 30 years of work in the business, after accolades upon accolades of excellence. There would be always a prominent position for Jim Ross in TNA. And Mike Tenay should look right into that camera, look every last viewer right in the eye, and promise as much. TNA must point the finger. They need to call out the other company on their inability to do what’s right for their employees, for the fans, and for their business. They need to let everyone know they are different than the other company. They respect their wrestlers and staff. They respect their fans and want the best for them. They know the fans love Jim Ross. They want Jim Ross because he’s the best announcer there is. They want Jim Ross because TNA is the future of wrestling, and Ross needs to be a part of that. TNA needs to point the finger at the other company, because they need to let everyone know just how different they are from them. It’s not just business. It’s the right the thing to do, for someone who has been wronged so often. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe it just seems that most reporters at the news websites have a vendetta against the WWE and anything Vince-related. They want TNA to succeed so we have an alternative or something that puts WWE out of biz. (I know the latter ain't happening anytime soon but I'm sure a lot of the IWC would cheer if it happened). So why after only two weeks on the air with Spike they want to give Vince an excuse to put TNA squarely in his sights. Yes, TNA has put on some solid shows the first couple of weeks and after watching the tape of yesterday's show as I lay sick here with stomach flu they seem to have an idea of what the fans want. That being said, three weeks is too damn soon to put TNA into a ratings battle with the WWE, especially since Vince has destroyed all other competition in his path over the last 20 years. In their quest to put something right up against Vince, they might do more damage to TNA than good.

Look at where this convo went...our convo about the Pledge not just jumped the shark, it jumped the fence and was last seen running through Old Man Haines' field about three farms down.

Does that mean I still have to call them "Freedom" ticklers?

There's no way in hell as a Cardinals fan that I'm rooting for my division rival. Hook me up to the White Sox bandwagon.

I refuse to join any group that would have me as a member. That and there's no beer.

My junior year of high school we somehow managed to crash a sorority party at the University of Iowa. Just walked right on in and mixed in with everyone else, paid our cover and partook in the alcohol. My friend David was never known for handling his booze particularly well and on this night he was getting hammered out of his mind. He starts hitting on this foreign student...she was a tall, blonde gorgeous Swede. We're talking Swedish bikini team material here. She's pretending like she's getting into this, but I think she was really thinking, "Dear God, get this fucknut away from me." This goes on for a few minutes and suddenly he starts into full-blown babbling, and when he gets into that mode he would have blown our cover. So we go over to grab him...just as we get to him, I catch a whiff of urine...my friend had just pissed in his pants and all over himself. It's time to go at that point, so we walk him out the door...a football player (I think) caught a whiff and asked if he couldn't hold it until he got to the bathroom. I told him he's a major fucking klutz when he drinks and spilled it all over himself. We get to the door, and to our car and down the road we go. Now, David begins a full-blown cry. And I mean he's into blubbering, uncontrollable, they shot Old Yeller and Bambi's mom mode. He's telling us he was going to get some. I try to convince him he was only going to get our asses kicked if they knew we were in high school and walked in uninvited. He then cries, "Take me back, guys! Take me back! I know I was going to get laid! Take me back!" My other friends Tyrone and Chris just absolutely lose it...they are laughing so hard they might piss themselves also. David just starts bawling that much harder, calling them uncaring among other things. Finally I lose it and we're all laughing at him, and he's sitting there like, "What the fuck is so funny?" Drunk people are entertaining, especially when it's someone else.

The NBA players are crying about how they don't want a dress code and that it's "racist." I tell them to suck it up, put on that Armani suit and shut up. Most of us have to adhere to dress codes at work, whether we're working next to Donald Trump or cleaning out the grease pit at McDonalds. If they feel it's such a racist deal, then they need to leave the NBA and go back to hustling at the playground where they can wear their Bose headphones and retro-jerseys. Although they may not be able to afford those again if they do.

Vince's putting out his family on TV every week fits the true definition of insanity...doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result each time. He clearly thinks he's going to get back into the 7s and 8s using the formula that worked back in the days of Attitude but so far his ideas just ain't panning out. And wrestling right now is "not cool". As in, it doesn't have the attention of the mainstream like it did during the NWO/Attitude days. Back then, people talked about what happened the night before on RAW and Nitro around the coffee maker or water cooler the way they talk about Monday Night Football. You don't have that now, wrestling is back to being almost a joke to the mainstream. The ones that are going to still watch have always been there, the wrestling diehards or the WWE fans who worship at the idol of Vince. Until we see that next big breakout star that has the potential to transcend the business and bring in the mainstream audience, this is the way it will be. Hogan did that, Austin did that, the Rock did that. Cena, Batista, and Triple H don't do that.

To me, I don't see the Pledge as an issue of government-endorsed religion...although our nation and the Constitution were founded on Judeo-Christian philosophies. To be honest, I barely notice the words myself which takes away from their meaning. That being said, gWIL seems to have found the right balance. He doesn't want to say them, yet he's not saying no one else should. That's where the socialists and secularists have completely blown the issue of church and state separation WAY out of proportion. The idea behind it was for the government to not endorse a specific religion for worship (the way France and Spain did with the Roman Catholic Church or England did with the Anglican Church). You have the right to worship (or not worship) as you see fit. The problem lays in people who want to remove ALL mention of God anywhere and thus to me the ACLU and other such organizations are ironically trampling on their rights. That was never the intention of the founding Fathers. True libertarians believe this...not these whackos running the ACLU now. It's sad per the ACLU still has a calling in this country if they'd drop protecting child-rapists of NAMBLA and protecting the rights of Islamo-fascist foreigners who would force Americans to kneel before Allah and lop off their heads first if they ever succeeded.

You're not wussin out on us now, are you? Fight it! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fair compromise...the teacher is trying to balance his right to protest with her duty to prevent disruptions to her class. Someone obviously felt it was a disruption or he wouldn't have been called to the Dean's office for it. By having him in the back, this solves both problems. That's part of the responsibility to protest...peaceful protests become an issue the moment they become violent or disruptive. Protesting responsibly...BRILLIANT! And Dr. Tyler...referring to your quote..."I don't have problems with protest in general or disagreeing with something; God knows I've protested things and God knows I don't disagree with quite a damned lot of what the government says. " You obviously have a problem with his protest or you wouldn't make such a spectacle out of it. So you have contradicted yourself. He doesn't believe in God, he shouldn't have to. He's not telling the school that no one should be able to say the Pledge as a result...that would be different. It's obviously going to be a you say Po-ta-toe, I say po-tah-toe...but don't hate...celebrate...his wanting to stand up for what he believes in. One day you might have to make an unpopular stand and it's going to feel pretty damn lonely.

Sadly, there is a whole generation of announcers in their 70s. In my lifetime we've lost Red Barber, Mel Allen, Harry Carey and Richie Ashburn. It feels like you lose a piece of your life every time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Add Jack Brickhouse, Jack Buck, and Bob Prince to that list also.
-
I think that's a fair compromise. The teacher realizes there are more important things to worry about, like making sure the class clown doesn't put the whoopee cushion on her chair.
-
I thought you purported to be a libertarian? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am. I still show respect for my country. I stand for the anthem, and stood for the pledge. Mind you, I didnt say it all, but I stood up at least. Lots of dead people deserved at least that. Libertarians are NOT against American government. We just like a very small government. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen to that. At the same time, he's still within his rights not to stand. It's not as if he's mocking the pledge like Calvin would, "I pledge allegiance to Queen Fragg and her mighty state of Hysteria...." or doing the artificial fart under the armpit during it. And he's not wearing a T-shirt saying "Death to America". It has nothing to do with patriotism, it has to do with exercising your rights. Now if he is being a snot-nosed bastard about it, that's a different story. Whether you agree or disagree, that's on you. But freedom of speech isn't about protecting JUST the speech you love...it's protecting speech you hate too.
-
It's his right not to stand. It's my right to think he's a spoiled brat for drawing attention to himself about something so fundamentally small. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So what if it is something that he believes in and he's not doing it just to be a pain in the ass? Granted there are other more important hills to die on but perhaps he feels strongly about it to make a point.
