    Britbey Spears Gives Birth

I just got a disturbing visual of Federline trying to bust out some street cred with Cowboy Troy, yo.
  2. Obviously the NWA/WCW/WWE World title belt that Flair first brought in. Also, if anyone remembers the old Mid-South run by Bill Watts...their main title was the North American championship...a huge one that they said was about 30 pounds.
  3. Palmeiro cheated, he violated the rules of baseball and sat there before Congress and lied to them about never taking steroids. Granted, the HOF is not full of saints, look at Ty Cobb (racist and bad-ass) and Babe Ruth (womanizer, drunk, and glutton). They never broke the rules of baseball. Rafael Palmeiro broke the rules of baseball and should be punished accordingly for it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did Palmeiro throw a World Series? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Palmeiro violated the rules of baseball by taking a substance banned by major league baseball to gain an unfair advantage over other players. But then again...there are still people that want Pete Rose in the HOF despite the fact he bet on baseball (on his own team to boot) and lied about it.

This Week in College Football 9/21 - 9/24

Iowa State 28, Army 21...Final Might be at least another week or so to see if ISU is for real...they go to Lincoln next week, and Nebraska is a very weak 3-0.
  5. Now...as for the White Sox...I wouldn't necessarily call it a collapse in the sense of the White Sox went into complete and total meltdown. Since August 1, they've been at a .500 winning clip...still fairly respectable. Cleveland has gone 36-12 or so in that same span...a .750 percentage. The Tribe is just playing great baseball right now and doing no wrong. It's not as if the South Siders just suddenly forgot how to play and was lucky to win once a week.

As a Hawkeye fan, I'm obviously going to be in front of the tube tomorrow for the game. I wonder if it will be like 2002...when Iowa was written off after losing to Iowa State and then ran the table in the Big Ten. Iowa has a real shot to steal one from the Buckeyes in the Shoe. However...as I hate Notre Dame I don't want to watch them...I'd like to see Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech since that will be a sweet game. This vote for Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech is coming from the Corn Belt.

North Korea Agrees to end Nuke Program

This is different from a nation like Iran getting nukes. In North Korea their people are starving, they want food, farming, and money so that they can get on their feet. If the bird flies, they get nothing. They know this, so they use the threat to get what they want. In Iran..."Death to America" is as popular a slogan as "Where's The Beef." You put nukes in their hands they would try to launch on America if they could...Israel for sure. And the Israelis having nukes is the worst kept secret since Slick Willie said he didn't bang Monica in the Oval Office.

North Korea Agrees to end Nuke Program

I'll believe it when I see it. North Korea has promised this going back to the mid-90s and keeps lying through their teeth.

    Does anyone else

The only time the NFL does that as far as cutting away is when the game is out of reach and the 2nd game involves a team in one of the local markets. I believe its in the TV contracts that if you are in the Dallas market (as an example) and the second-game is Cowboys-Redskins they will cut away from 49ers-Vikings for it. More people would rather watch the local game anyway and would be more pissed if they missed the first few minutes. As for why I like the NFL a bit more than college (and I LOVE football ) is the fact that part of the beauty is in the parity. When the teams report to training camp in July there is the hope and the chance your team is going to be able to do something. You don't have that in college football...Kansas football fans know usually their team is going to suck balls, ditto with Indiana, Duke, etc. In baseball you can pretty much eliminate half the teams by the time pitchers and catchers report.

    This Week In Baseball

What are the chances we can deny a berth to the NL West champion Padres if they don't finish above .500? Nobody's catching them since the other teams suck as much. And props to my Cardinals for being the first team to clinch the playoffs...I must now have a Barry Horowitz moment and pat myself on the back. As for all the White Sox hate...Ozzie Guillen's demeanor worked much better back on August 1 when they had a 15 game lead.

    Credit Cards

Only credit cards I have are a Chase VISA, First USA Mastercard, Kohl's and JC Penney's. And the Penney's one won't be too much longer for this world since I just don't use it.

Brock to compete in New Japan

I can see the judge ruling the no-compete clause is excessive as far as timing. One year is one thing...but six years is something else entirely. As far as Brock wrestling in Japan...he's less of a threat to the WWE than if he was to sign with TNA or ROH. New Japan gets nowhere near the exposure here it should. There is a lot of top talent there that can put on great shows. But unless you are looking for it you don't see a whole lot of New Japan here in the States. Vince probably figures at this point that it's OK for him to ply his trade for now in the Land of the Rising Sun...with the option of starting up the fight again if he yearns to re-sign stateside down the road.
  16. If I remember right...when Orndorff turned on Hogan after WM 1 wasn't the match on Superstars where Hogan and Orndorff were to wrestle Studd and Bundy but Hogan didn't show up at the start? Anyway...the one thing I miss about wrestling was me just enjoying wrestling and the fact there were so many options on TV. When I lived in Kansas City I could get up at 6 AM on Saturday mornings, slip downstairs, fix a bowl of cereal, head for the TV room and watch 6 hours of wrestling on Saturdays on KZKC in Kansas City, channel 62. They started with UWF, then went to AWA, NWA, Central States, WWF, and finished with World Class. Plus...I wasn't worried about what was going on with who was pushing who and who had all the rub backstage, etc. I had no clue what there was in regards to that. I watched just to watch.

    HBK is a little unhappy

Just a quick mention on the RVD hate...if Vince let him be the RVD he was in ECW I think fans would see just what potential this guy has to be a main-eventer. But Vince's ego would never allow him to get to that point until he saw what he could do at One Night Stand. Previously, being a bondage bitch to Kane killed whatever rub he had with the WWE fans, and that's sad. As for HBK...he hasn't had a relevant match with someone other than Hunter since he jobbed to Austin at WM 14. His match was OK at SS with Hogan but it wasn't all that. He's another example of a wrestler that hangs on too long and doesn't really fit in anymore. Yet, people treat him as a legend so he can just about do whatever even if he really doesn't fit in with the plans. This man would be a perfect opponent to build up Cena with. But since he'd rather whine and have his own ego stroked he's going to gum up the works. Only other thing I can see though is a revival of DX coming with HHH, HBK, and Flair.

    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

The original plan was to keep WCW as a totally separate entity, and build to inter-promotional matches somewhere down the line. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Was there ever really an original plan though...I figured from watching the Invasion that there was no chance of WCW being separate from WWF/E. One, they had very nearly put Vince out of biz. Two, if WCW somehow started to match or exceed the popularity of WWF/E Vince would never have tolerated it.

Last year was a pretty good finish for the Big East title...4 teams in contention the final weekend of the season. They just didn't have that overpowering team that can be in the top of the rankings the way they have had in recent years with Va. Tech and Miami. Getting just made Utah's bitch in the Fiesta Bowl didn't help them either. Another Big East team to watch out for...UConn. Their football team looks damn good and they have the means to become a football power in years to come.

So someone threatened to kill me today...

On one hand...a woman ain't worth throwing down for. The idea of her standing between the two of ya and saying "You ain't fightin' over little ol' me?" doesn't impress me too much. Ultimately, though...you've invested a bit of time in trying to get her to go out with you so now it's your decision to see if it's worth hanging around. Give her one more shot...if nothing comes of it then it should be like Nino Brown in "New Jack City"..."Cancel that bitch! I'll buy a new one"

You are making the assumption that Husker Nation will be willing to sit back and give Callahan the time needed to make this happen. Pederson (the Nebraska AD) had made it sound like Nebraska wouldn't miss a beat from the Solich to Callahan eras. If Nebraska crashes and burns again I wouldn't be surprised to see both Callahan and Pederson out on their asses. As for my Iowa Hawkeyes...they will be in a bad mood and Northern Iowa is about to get clobbered. This isn't the real rivalry game, Lou Holtz...this is the real blood-letting.

    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

I read somewhere that at the initial Wrestlemania...Vince wanted to sign Bruiser (King Kong) Brody to make an appearance after the initial ME. He was supposed to come out of the stands and beat the hell out of Mr. T. and become Piper's muscle. But Brody and Vince couldn't agree on $. Brodymania...has a nice ring to it.

    Another Tough Enough Winner Released

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Perhaps Vince finally realized that pushing guys off the street over established in-ring stars was a complete and total failure? Wait, not really...Vince insists on giving us the strip....errrrrrrrr.....Diva searches.

    What Do You Hate?

It could be big, it could be small...it could be somewhere in between. But this is where to vent about it. I hate going to a restaurant, ordering a cheeseburger, and the cheese comes out as if it was thrown on the burger right before the waiter brings it out. The idea of a cheeseburger is to melt the DAMN CHEESE and then bring it out.
