    Favorite Movie Quote?

I have quite a few faves...so let's give ya a few. Animal House... "He's a ruthless mother, isn't he?" "He can't do that to our pledges!" "No, only we can do that to our pledges!" Heavy Metal...John Candy's robot character "Of course you feel guilty. Human females who experience sexual pleasure with mechanical assistance ALWAYS tend to feel guilty!" Friday...Craig's dad in the shitter "Get your ass in here, son! I've been smelling your shit for 22 years...you can't smell mine for five minutes?" Do The Right Thing "Fuck you, fuck your fucking pizza, and fuck Frank Sinatra! "No, fuck you and fuck Michael Jackson!"

    God hates the military?

To them (and note here I don't agree with it) but it's the issue of what seems "unnatural". It's the Adam & Eve not Adam & Steve argument. Being gay is not natural because God designed man to lay down with woman for the idea of procreation and continuing humanity. Homosexuality is a choice that they make, for a man to lay down with another man or two women to do the same is supposedly an insult to God. It's the ultimate kind of perversity that goes against "God's Plan." However, I know God is laughing His head off and the Rev. Phelps will be up for quite the rude awakening come his day to be judged before Him.

    Another 9/11 Conspiracy Theory

I want to protect innocent people, no question. My comment was for the monsters who want to destroy us or even cheer about destroying us. I don't care one iota for their rights. As for the freedom/power thing...it's really an issue of both. Our freedoms to them make us weak, make us corrupt. They can't (or won't) understand why we allow homosexuals, women, etc...to just do their own thing without fear of reprisal for the most part. To them women stay home and homosexuals have their domes lopped off. We are weak because we allow political opponents to speak out against the government. In the twisted mind of our enemies it speaks to them the weaknesses of our government and our society and how we must be destroyed.

    Another 9/11 Conspiracy Theory

As a libertarian, here's my stance on the whole thing. As an American, I am willing to fight the war on terror and do whatever it takes to win. We're dealing with a group of people who want us either to bow before Allah or to die. No matter what their stance may be (support of Israel, military bases in Saudi Arabia, etc) their real agenda is the takeover of the world and the spread of Islam. Any reason they give is just to mask their real intentions. They must be destroyed. Any of their rights I don't give a shit about...if they are foreigners and try to hurt us they aren't entitled to the same protections under the Constitution as I am. But I don't feel that I have to forfeit any of my civil rights to do so...in fact I refuse to do so on the grounds that any "temporary" removal of those rights would be permanent. The potential is there to abuse that power...especially with the zealots on both sides of the aisle who want to silence ANYONE who might even slightly disagree with their stance. Example...in Britain they are trying to pass legislation that would allow them to deport foreigners that preach hate. In and of itself it is a good idea...problem is that if something like that happened here in the US it could be used to deport people who disagree with their government leaders. I especially take this stance in the age of over-politicizing everything. It's not OK if the other side says it but it's a good idea if you say it. That's a crock and a half. The hypocrisy shows both ways...it was wrong for the conservatives to see the mayor of San Francisco issue marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples...but OK for Judge Moore in Alabama to refuse an order to remove the Ten Commandments. Both the mayor and the judge overstepped their boundaries and abused their power. One is as wrong as the other...but it doesn't sound that way. That's why I refuse to give the government any more power and I sure as hell will not give them the means to curtail even temporarily our liberties...as Benjamin Franklin said, "He who gives up liberty for more security is a fool that deserves neither liberty nor security."

If they aren't white... it's alright.

Racism is racism...I don't care if it comes from blacks, whites, Martians...doesn't matter. And racism stems really from ignorance and either not knowing (or wanting to know) any better. If you're ignorant enough to call someone a racial slur regardless of the color of your own skin then I have no sympathy for you. And no...just because you're of a minority (although in the States it won't matter soon as whites will become the minority) doesn't give you a free pass to be ignorant. It's enough for me to live up to the standard I set...I don't feel the need to live up to another person's standard. Bullying is about power...kids holding power over someone else. Perhaps these kids don't have that power at home or whatever...so they take it out on other kids and get that power. There are plenty of other reasons for bullying I know...the key is to stand up to the bully and in most cases the bully leaves you alone when they see you aren't being controlled by their actions.

    Backlash on Terrorist Angle

Gotta love how people wanted a compelling storyline to get back into watching Smackdown since the last few weeks it got robbed of some top talent in the draft. Suddenly now that we have it, people are up in arms. Seriously...it's a shame that this angle is about to get killed for political correctness. OK...I know the timing and everything is bad...but WWE is not the bastion of political correctness and purity in this world. Those that feel that need to put down the Kool-Aid. I saw this with the Un-American angle...which as a patriotic American I had no problem with...it had the potential to be a great angle. In the end...people got bent out of shape and killed it. I have to wonder...if at the height of the Persian Gulf War I we had the Internet...and PC killed the Sgt. Slaughter Iraqi sympathizer bit...especially when he burned the American flag on Superstars?

Top 10 Most Anticipated College Football games

Iowa has a real shot at a national title game this year...Michigan at home...Ohio State on the road early in the schedule...only other tough one will be on the road at Wisconsin. The two keys...running game stays healthy (Last year Iowa had to resort to walk-ons to run the football since everyone went down to injury) and the defensive line to help Greenway and Hodge.

    The Future of Smackdown

I have this conspiracy theory running around in my head. I wanted to wait a couple of days until after everything settled down though to throw it out. What if UPN had the chance to edit the show on Smackdown and take out the jihad assault but didn't deliberately? Here's my line of thinking...RAW is already on its way to USA this fall. USA is owned by Universal, they own NBC. I could very easily see Viacom not willing, even though they only have one more year...having Vince running shows on their networks while another one runs on a rival company's. So...they let the bit air. In the next few weeks, UPN and Viacom are flooded with complaints, especially if they keep the Hassan angles going. A couple major advertisers drop the show. I know Vince has a certain amount of control over the content of his shows per his contract with Viacom. However...that changes when Viacom starts voicing concerns. Vince and Viacom go head to head over control. Finally, Viacom leaves him a choice...they'll buy out the final year of SD and call it good. If he won't accept that, they'll cancel his show outright. UPN then makes the announcement that they want to take their network in a new direction without the low-brow that is wrestling. (Similar to the speech that Time Warner made dumping WCW or when USA dumped WWF in 2000). Vince takes Smackdown to USA for a year and then moves to NBC on Thursday nights to make up for a weakening schedule. Long shot, I know...but I think it would be interesting to see. We haven't felt the full effects of the fall-out from last week's episode yet.

Direction for Hassan's Character on SmackDown

Perhaps Katie Vick would be available again? On a serious note...up until last week Hassan's angle was one of the better ones that has been done IMHO in a long time. Lot of realism to the whole thing...but of course political correctness could ruin it. Much like the Un-American angle was. Maybe you can move away from the jihad part of it...but you have both the bitchy and vicious Hassan merge together. He could clearly get over as a heel if you add both together.

    WCW in 1998

Oh...and to add to this. At that moment, Raven points to the Jumbotron. We see a bloodied and beaten Hulk Hogan in the parking lot...with NWO spray-painted across his back.

    WCW in 1998

WCW would have had another perfect main eventer IMHO if they had used him right...Raven. He would maybe have not been the main focus of the company, but a definite transitional MEer as they would try to get away from the Hall/Nash/Hogan/Savages of that time. Here's how I would have booked Raven at that time and made him a player in the WCW game. Raven keeps the US title for a while instead of dropping it in one night. I would have had him feud with Savage...meanwhile without Hogan in the picture Elizabeth flirts with a return to Savage. At the Great American Bash...Raven battles Savage for the US title...Raven's rules of course. Suddenly, as Savage looks to be on the verge of winning the title...Elizabeth comes out of nowhere and clobbers him with a stop sign. Raven wins and Elizabeth joins the grunge that is the Flock. IN weeks to come you see her go from the gorgeous woman wrestling fans knew and love to one with stringed out hair, torn jeans, etc. Meanwhile...Hogan's return would be made right about the time of the Great American Bash. He returns with Dennis Rodman...the following night after GAB it is scheduled to be a tag team match with Hogan and Rodman vs. Hall and Nash. Hogan is the face now...and early in the show we await Rodman's arrival at the arena. About midway through the show we find Rodman...beaten to a bloody pulp and tossed into the dumpster outside...with NWO spray-painted across his body. Hogan finds a partner in Scott Norton (NWO underling) only to have Norton turn his back on Hogan during the match...but instead of joining over to Hall and Nash he leaves the ring entirely. We see this happening for a couple of months...one time Raven is scheduled to defend the US belt against Lex Luger only for Luger to receive the same treatment. Beaten and left with NWO on his back. The night after Fall Brawl...when World champ Bret Hart is set to have a non-title encounter with US champ Raven, Hart is found another victim. Bloodied, battered, and spray-painted. Finally...three weeks before Halloween Havoc...Eric Bischoff and JJ Dillon are both found bloodied and with the NWO calling card across their backs. This time, security escorts Hogan out of the arena on the orders of Doug Dillenger and Hogan is suspended for 30 days pending a full investigation. Hart is unable to return at this point...leading to WCW vacating the World title and putting it up for grabs at a 6-man elimination Thunderdome cage match at Halloween Havoc. The lineup was originally to be Hogan, Sting, Nash, Goldberg, Hall, and Curt Hennig for the title...the removal of Hogan from the equation now means another wrestler must be picked. A 20-man battle royal is scheduled that Nitro before Havoc, the winner to become the 6th wrestler. The Ultimate Warrior is one of those picked for this match...however that night he ends up assaulted and NWO'ed. Moments before the battle royal is set to begin, a video shows Hogan trying to get into the building, screaming "I KNOW WHO'S BEHIND THIS, BROTHER! IT WASN'T ME!" To no avail...Hogan stays outside. Raven becomes the fill-in sub for the battle royal...but amazingly without his US title (he dropped it a couple of weeks ago to Chris Benoit). Raven wins the battle royal and goes on to Thunderdome. Halloween Havoc...it's a brutal match for the Main Event. The last two standing are Raven and Sting. As Sting is locking on the scorpion deathlock on Raven...the cage suddenly is raised on its crane. In runs the Flock...including Elizabeth, Scott Norton, Vincent, and Stevie Ray. Sting is beaten down, Raven gets the cover, the pin, and the World Heavyweight Championship. However, they're not done. They move Sting over to where the cage was lowered and is now raised...order the lowering again. Kidman of the Flock was sitting in the crane, and they lower the cage onto Sting's neck. But not before Norton spray-paints NWO onto Sting's back as they are leaving. Sting at this point will be booked to be out for at least two-three months. The following night, Raven comes out, title in hand, and cuts a promo talking about how the darkness after the NWO has creeped across WCW. It could go something like, "You thought the NWO was dark? It was a joke, a ploy, a harbinger of what was to come! People like Hogan and Sting make fun of the blackness...the darkness...that I call my home. For their sins I will punish all of WCW and hold them responsible for all that has happened...and all that is to come! Quote the Raven, nevermore!"

    Faces getting heavily booed

Great American Bash '89. When Rick Steamboat challenged Lex Luger for the US title, for some reason Steamboat (who only a few months before was wildly cheered in his feud with Flair for the NWA World title) was booed as the face while the heel Luger was cheered like crazy.

    Jeremy Roenick = Ass?

Five work-stoppages in the last 20 years before the '94 players strike. 1973 (strike), '76 (lockout), '81 (strike), '85 (strike), '90 (lockout). They had been talking the potential for a strike going back to the start of the '92 season. Lot of people were pissed off and this was building for some time. That's why I'm sure many fans walked away. I didn't come back to MLB meself for three years...it took the McGwire-Sosa HR duel for me (a huge Cardinals fan) to come back. I don't blame some of them for not returning. The whole ordeal with the NHL may finally usher in the era of labor peace in sports. There are plenty more entertainment options available to people in lieu of the NHL (or other sports for that matter) and pro sports is finally realizing this. I have no complaints with the players and owners getting theirs...just don't screw us over in the process.

    WWE begin the releases

I'm not surprised there ultimately...I have had this conspiracy theory since 2001 running around my head. When Vince bought WCW, he was going to show once and for all his product was superior to Turner's. So...he deliberately botched the Invasion and ever since has worked very hard to ruin all WCW gimmicks/angles. The NWO, Scott Steiner, the non-signing of Sting (let's face it if Vince threw enough money at him and really had wanted Sting the deal would have been done). Even Goldberg...even though he got a title run it doesn't say much for confidence when Linda McMahon is calling you a "disappointment" before the stockholders.

    WWE begin the releases

The releases clearly show that it's time to free up money to pay the new WWE stripper...errrr.....Diva. Kidman had a lot to offer the roster, if Vince had any intention of using him correctly. Maven...on one hand I will miss the most lethal Unibrow in all of sports entertainment. However, it was an example of the Tough Enough wrestlers getting pushed to the moon too much, too soon that turned me off to him ultimately. They never seemed to earn their dues and took the spots of other hard workers out there.
