Only if you disregard common logic would he be "one of the biggest stars in the world" one of the biggest stars right now in CMLL? Maybe so, but in the grand scheme of things - that's an overstatement but maybe that's more wrestling hype than reality, so hey if he's really truely talented then I'd be okay with the "overhype".

Funaki!!

Tape qualifty from back then probably wasn't that great so I doubt they'd have much 50s-60s footage around from either the NWA or the AWA that's actually viewable. I've never seen any that's for sure but that doesn't mean that they don't have it stored in some dark vault in the basement
-
erm Pescado I'm not sure what that is compared to the other too. but a Plancha if I'm not mistaken a Plancha is from standing still to leaping over the top rope using the ropes to give you bounce Topë is a running dive between the middle and the top rope. right?

I know this should really be in the TNA folder but this is completly PATHETIC. good for Kanyon not to sign such a preposterous contract
-
I can't believe you overlooked this guy Mick Foley
-
Maybe it's just me here - but what the heck is the difference between Psycho Driver I and Psycho Driver III in those clips?? they look about the same to me

Intriguing ”one of the biggest stars in the world” and X Cup related to boot. So strike Liger cause he’s been on a TNA show before Mistico? Erm how is he “one of the biggest stars in the world”? Kobashi? I think he qualifies Lesner? Well I doubt he’d be put in the X Cup so I’m saying no So think “big names” and X division type people – Ultimo Dragon? Mutoh? No I think I will cast my vote for the one, the only – the BIGGEST STAR in the world (not just in wrestling) LAAAAAAAAA PARKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! *Chair dance*

SWF Wrestler of the Month & Historian's Rankings
Bruce Blank replied to Longdogger_Pete's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Is the rankings cumulative from... well I guess January 1st? Just wondering, I mean the "WoTM" is obviously only based on this month's wins and losses - but what about the rankings? only this month too? and I think honorable mentions should have gone to An Octopus dang it! -
if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck I'll call it a duck even if it moo'ed in a different post. In other words - I ain't gonna bother reading your resume, THAT post was nothing but a blind TNA mark post so there you have it. And hey they got a better time slot, you wouldn't take a BETTER Saturday Night time slot? besides if Vince REALLY wanted to crush TNA head to head he'd have booked some more compelling matches yaknow?

Well they WERE a team in the WWF too - just not given a name, you even say so yourself - they teamed in the WWF. I never said they were the "Faces of Fear" in the WWF, I said they "Formed the Faces of Fear in WCW"
-
No go SOUTH - east is too frigging cold, we're not all polarbears

The Powers of Pain were gone from the WWF in early 1992. I think in Warlord's case it definately had something to do with the steroid testing. Barbarian showed up in WCW that spring and was one-half of the last US Tag Team Champions alongside Greg Valentine. He then had a brief main event push against Ron Simmons that fall and was pushed down the roster late 92/early 93 and left again. A few years later, Barbarian & Warlord showed up on the 1/1/96 Nitro as the masked "Super Assassins", managed by Col. Parker, and were squashed by Sting & Luger. After that Barbarian teamed up with Meng once more (Barbarian/Haku - what do you mean they weren't HUGE in the WWF?) and they formed the "Faces of Fear" Which I kinda dug as a team at least initially
-
I knew what you were going for and Hulk/Hollywood just isn't what you were talking about cause it's still Hulk Hogan either way. You were looking for people who were like "Merciless Masked Ming" in WCW and then came to the WWF and became an unmasked fitness guru or whatever you want to call it right? So since you said successful Nova/Simon Dean doesn't count Since the mid 90ties or so it's been less about "reinventing" a guy when he changed federations - I mean there used to be a time where the WWF wouldn't even ackowledge that someone had wrestled elsewhere before joining them. Btw. does Matt Borne / Big Josh/ Doink count?
-
I'm sorry but WHAT THE HELL? you bitch that they implement these things to help save lives and hopefully prevent another Eddie Guerrero death because they're going on a hard road trip? So I guess it's okay to drug it up if you've got a busy road schedule? That kind of logic just astounds me - have either of you ever worked for the WWE booking team?
-
Nope it certainly isn't Unless the WWE named the event "Saturday Night's Main Event" in the mid 80ties just because they knew that 20 years down the line another promotion would run for one hour late on Saturday. and before you say anything else - an NBC prime time special cannot be anything but SNME, it's just tradition. and the HoF being Saturday? Yes damn then for once again holding it on the day before WM - damn them when they decided to hold the first WM on a Sunday because they knew that twenty some years down the road TNA would do a show the day before. Hall of Fame has been on the day before WM before, hell havent the recent ones always been on Saturday before WM? Well before TNA got their Saturday night slot. Talk about being an example of what happens when you love TNA blindly and forget to stop and THINK before you post *tisk*tisk*

I actually have the Sid / Barbarian match - it was on a EuroSport version of "Prime Time" I do believe so it was taped and used there even if it wasn't shown in the States (they showed plenty of MSG special matches and others "CHV only" matches on the international edition. I even saw Sid Vs Jake... well sort of Sid Vs "El Diablo" who was Jake under a mask, but nothing ever came of the Sid/Snake feud - probably because Jake went straight from a Savage feud to an Undertaker program that was his last with the federation
-
Krusher Kruschev / Smash / Repo-Man / Blacktop Bully / Stewart Pain / Barry Darsow!!! oh wait you said successful... well the Russians were pretty hated and Demolition were awesome, Repo-Man cracked me up and... no I can't say anything nice about the last 3 personas
-
Aren't 2 of those reigns actually with the "Big Gold Belt" or the "NWA International title" that WCW promoted for a while (Traded it with Ric Flair and later unified it with Sting's WCW title) I doubt those 2 are counted, nor the 1 day switches overseas that were never promoted in any way.
-
Almost correct there the AWA was part of a cooperation between the AWA, WCCW and CWA (Memphis) and they recognized one "Unified" champion for a while - but that champion was both AWA and WCCW champion (Seperate belts) and it was only one man Jerry Lawler. He won the AWA title, later beat Kerry for the WCCW title and they were "unified" - but neither promotion ceased to be a seperate entity, it was like the NWA territories originally. Then the AWA pulled out, the AWA title was taken from Lawler (I think he was actually stripped of it) and the AWA ran by themselves for a year, year and a half before it died. The AWA lineage died in 91 or whenever the federation finally folded (When Larry "the Champ" Zybysko started to appear in WCW basically) WCCW and CWA/CWF (I forget which name they used) were merged by then to one federation though - and shortly afterwards changed their name to USWA, but that was after the AWA pulled out of the whole thing. USWA = Texas & Tennessee

damn it - now you've just upped the bribing levels for us all

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOO!! perfect place for Bruce Vs Cross MUA-HA-HA-HA!! Seems like the opening promo is called already - dang... erm can I call the promo between the card being posted and the first match? the "pre-first match" promo which is much less prestigious than the opening promo but hey I'm less prestigious than Muzz so all in all that seems fair And that's one bad ass main event!

The One and Only Raw Thread for February 27th, 2006
Bruce Blank replied to Art Sandusky's topic in The WWE Folder
He's about as active that's true but it's a different game - people are expecting Sting to return to wrestling to "un-retire" and work most PPVs and maybe even some tapings (hey bonus) signing Fo... yeah it's about the same really now that I type it out, they could have found the cash. -
You've done gone and tempted him now. Good show - but there was a part missing sadly I posted it on the side since it's critical to the next show. Thumbs up to Akira for a HUGE title defense and another one to Cross for winning a shot at me after the PPV good stuff and the Straight-Bread sensation goes 3 and 0, it's the Cinder-Jimmy story of the Lethal Lottery Bring on the last round of the Lottery!!
