He's in our match too. He doesn't do much, just sits down and watches (That's what we were told he would do) I appreciate the explanation. Sorry about the outburst, I just wasn't really happy with the ending. Oh well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Erm walks out before the intros and watches the match? Cheers for Landon getting slapped around?? missed something?
-
Why not just slap him with a rubber chicken and really paint Ward as a pussy?
-
in case it passed someone by - I'm just screwing around here. never take what I post seriously
-
So we must be even more Shizzle after all we beat the Tag-Team gods AND we beat Secret Agent Man & Mr. Bahamas who else beat those two huh?? HUUUUUH?
-
Honstly I don't know if they did or not. but that's their issue really - not like it was a given that they'd beat us even if people seem to think so
-
Well I'm sure people made the same prediction against TKO (Being "By god" Toxxic and Va'aiga after all) and we all know how that turned out *smirk*
-
I've added the tag-team stats for Las Hawkearoaches to use when writing the match.
-
I'd love to see 3J's match for Genesis - I have found it helpful in the past to see other people's take on my character, it'd be interesting how he wrote Bruce in that match. just curious
-
That's a good point I guess that means that the Nightmare Express have main evented their first show!! TKO can't say that which is why we're ranked higher than them in the tag rankings

SWF STATS THREAD, Summer 2005 Edition
Bruce Blank replied to Ace309's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Team Name: The Nightmare Express Members: Bruce Blank and Marcus “the Mastermind” Ward Combined Weight: 544 pounds Hometown: the Twilight Zone Face/Heel: Heel! (and how) Weapons: Anything they can get their hands on (if it's not nailed down they'll use it. if it's nailed down they'll break it off and THEN use it) Looks: When appearing collectivly as the Nightmare Express (or matches connected to a NE feud) they dress more similar than when each of them have done in the past for individual matches. Both have calf length black biker boots with straps (Road Warriors style). Ward: Steel grey tights, yellow-orangeish Pyramid with eye on the right leg as usual. White spiderweb markings with yellow-orangeish (same as pyramid) spiders covering the left leg. Grey knee pads with spiderweb markings on it. Yellow triangle painted over his right eye. (not above it) Bruce: Black tights, blue Devil icon (a wicked looking smiley face with horns) on the left leg. White spiderweb markins with blue spiders covering the right leg. Black knee pads with spiderweb markings on it. blue spiderwebbing painted around his left eye. Bruce also has black tape around both wrists, half way up the arms and heavily taped around both hands as well. When appearing as part of the Nightmare Express Bruce is clean shaven and slicks his usually wild hair back into more of a managed pony tale look. Ring Entrance: Solid blue pyros explode from the ring posts as the Nightmare Express is introduced, then Reign of Terror by Stratovarius kicks in over the PA system as the arena goes dark. The aisle lights turn on but the rest of the arena remains pitch black, A sparkling blue pyro fills the ring entrance as the voice gets up high with a screech "TERROR TERROR, EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!" The Arena lights begin to flicker with the beat of the song...until being interrupted by a huge 10-pyro simultaneous multi-colored explosion that alights the arena in perfect time with a guttural screaming voice echoing throughout the venue! Style: They’re very much a team in the style of the Hartfoundation – a power house and a guy who’s more of a wrestler. A Tank and a sports car so to speak. Bruce does the heavy brawling, Ward does the technical stuff and has the stamina. When in trouble Ward is fine with tagging in Bruce and letting the big man run amok to then take over again when the situation is well under control. Ward is teaching Bruce to think more in the ring and Bruce is teaching Ward to cheat more in the ring – it’ll show up. Signature moves: 1) Bruce holds up an opponent in a single leg Boston Crab (he’ll pull down the knee pad if the opponent is wearing one) then tag in Marcus who’ll land a running kick to the exposed knee of the opponent. 2) Opponent on the ground, tags in Bruce who’ll Gorilla Press him and then drop Ward in a big splash on opponent. 3) Rocket Launcher Elbow! Ward on the top rope, Bruce helps him leap forward by pushing him giving Ward enough distance to cross 2/3rds of the ring for a Randy Savage style elbow drop. 4) Double press into double backbreaker 5) Pit stop - Bruce raises his arm in the air exposing his smelly pit. Ward shoves opponent's face into armpit to give them a good whiff of it. 7) Nightmare Drop - Demolition Decapitation 8) Slingshot into a clothesline - Ward hooks opponents arms under his legs, falls backwards flipping opponent right into a stiff clothesline from Bruce. 9) Torture Rack / Elbow smash combo: Ward locks on the torture rack, Bruce comes off the second rope with an elbow smash to the ribs of the opponent to weaken him further 10) Gorilla press / Diamondcutter combo: Bruce lifts opponent up for Gorilla press, Ward leaps off second rope and uses Diamondcutter to take opponent down Common moves: 1) Slam opponent against held up knee (Bruce holds it up, Ward doesn’t have the knees for that) 2) Slam opponent’s head against partner's boot. 3) Choke opponent while partner distracts referee. 4) Bruce drops opponent throat first on the top rope, holds up legs. Ward leap frogs over Bruce and lands a splash on the opponent hung on the ropes. 5) Assisted Abdominal Stretch – Ward locks on the Abdominal stretch, reaches back and grabs Bruce’s outstretched hand for extra leverage. 6) Assisted Stun Gun – Either man lifts a guy up to drop him on the top rope, guy on the outside helps drive opponent down into rope. 7) Double Flapjack (Both guys lift opponent up straight in the air and drops backwards driving his face into the mat) 8) Spinebuster onto Bruce’s knee 9) Double Suplex 10) Opponent whipped into corner, tagged in partner whipped in for a clothesline/big splash/whatever 11) Double battering ram. Each grab an opponent round the head and drive their heads together in a double noggin knocker (Shades of the Bushwackers) 12) Power Slam off the 2nd rope. One guy sits on the 2nd rope, other guy lifts opponent up into position for a power slam off the ropes. 13) A series of double axe handle blows to the back of the opponent grinding him into the ground with it. 14) Running Kick from Bruce / Leg clip from Ward combo. 15) Spike Piledriver 16) Double Power Bomb 17) Break the 3 count (run in, pull partner out of ring, place foot on rope - you name it) 18) General Tag-Team cheating and using the 5 count 19) Hide partner’s weapon from referee 20) Any other double team move you can think off - they're always experimenting with new moves. Rare moves: 1) Top rope press toss into spinebuster (Bruce does the lifting of opponent off the top rope, Ward the busting) – only on small opponents and since it has a high failure rate they only break it out for big events. 2) the 3D (used rarely as it's a Dudley move but they CAN bust it out if need be) 3) The Doomsday Device (More often used in sneak attacks than in the ring) 4) Power Bomb into clothesline. Bruce lifts opponent into Power Bomb position, Ward comes off the top rope with a clothesline - both guys drive opponent into mat (timing is hard to get right - which is why it's on the rare list right now) Finishers: 1) The Nightmare Conspiracy: Delayed Suplex into Spinebuster. Bruce holds opponent up in the air for the suplex, Ward tags him on the shoulder and enters the ring. Bruce drops opponent forward over Ward’s shoulder into a spine buster that’ll put anyone down. 2) Hope crusher: Ward backdrops opponent into Bruce's grasp who uses the momentum to drive opponent's head into the ground with an inverted tombstone (Face away from Bruce instead of towards Bruce) 3) Certain Death: A top rope DDT. Bruce has the opponent up on his shoulders, facing the middle of the ring. Ward stands on the top rope, locks in a headlock and then drives opponent off Bruce's shoulders into the canvas. This move is a sure fire match winner - only Superman himself would be able to take the move when successfully executed, do not disrespect it! -
"Do Androids dream of wrestling again?"
Bruce Blank replied to Coffin Surfer's topic in Brandon Truitt
besides TKO are more over than you Spike - just look at the fan reactions to them being flipped off -
OOOH I see Bruce's hands are trapped in the finger trap - it's on his left and right index finger tied together. Not JJJ and Bruce I thought for a moment I had "zenned out" and just written stuff without realizing it
-
JJJ connected to Bruce?? I wrote the thing and don't rememeber writing us being connected at any point and I'm glad you guys like the match I wrote, it was hella fun to figure out and to write
-
I am really digging the "out there" stip matches - both the parking lot Thunder storm match and this one hopefully with more to come - even if it gets me labelled as a "Garbage wrestler" cause Trashcan beats Wristlock
-
So any bets on when we'll see Spike/Flesher? or will it be like the "mystical" Devon Walters Vs Marcus Ward that never showed up? let's hope not
-
just done the skim - but man that was awesome!! yes more comments to follow as I get a detailed read in
-
I've edited that sucker through like 3 times now - I'm done, If I go on I'll over edit it and just kill the momentum of it. just over 9000 words now I need about 9 shows where I don't go near the 9000 work mark again please
-
going the old "Quality over quantity" route eh?? Man I'm almost done, longest match I've ever written (Except when I once wrote a Rumble for a fed - bleh) Just a few odds and ends and grammar checks to go, which is lucky as it's due tonight

WHOA! thank god I'm not shooting for anything near that - just average PPV length currently just over 4000 I do believe, I ran out of stuff to count on after I reached 21
-
Well since this is a huge PPV coming up, my first and I’m still very much a newbie round here I figured it might be interesting for others to hear how each of you approach match writing. I mean do you just start to write and figure stuff out as you go along? Do you plan a series of spots / events and then connect the spots? Do you have a certain word count in mind when you start to write a PPV match? (Since they have no word limits on them) How do you guys approach it? Personally I start out by figuring out the finish to the match – which sometimes goes through 2, 3 different versions in my head before I’m happy with it. Then I figure out the phases (who dominates when and the likes) Once I got a finish to work towards and the different phases plotted out I begin to write cause by then I’ve have though through and gotten ideas for moves and spots and comments and whatnot to include. I feel that it works okay at the moment. Your turn
-
I don't either but I think 4 and 0 puts me in the hot zone Could it be like if you've won your last 3 in a row or lost your last 3 in a row (at least) what qualifies your "streak"? Anyone know this for sure?
-
Ah I get it now - except "hot/cold"? what is that? I think JJ and myself can get this together pretty easy though
