Hey, the Rangers do a fantastic job raising young players in the system. Lundqvist, Dubinsky, Staal, Girardi, Callahan, Dawes, Korpikoski, Prucha, hopefully Sanguinetti. Perhaps we spend a lot, but it's not as if the team doesn't groom prospects and turn them into solid hockey players.

Clayton Kershaw got sent back down to Jacksonville. Kickass. I really hope the next time the Montgomery Biscuits are in town we get a Clayton Kershaw vs David Price pitching matchup. That'd be fucking fantastic.

The Rays are absolutely not playing over their heads. They have the best starting pitching in baseball. That always equates to wins.

If the Mets had won those 8 games they lost to the Phillies down the stretch last year, their record would be 8 games better and the Phillies 8 games worse, so instead of losing the division by one, they'd have won by 15! Baseball is a game of fucking inches, man.

I like that trade a lot for the Rangers, but I might miss Tyutin. Trading him probably means the Rangers intend to have Bobby Sanguinetti play in the NHL next year. I guess defensively, the Rangers have Redden, Rosival, Girardi, Staal, Sanguinetti and then probably either Mara or Malik (I'd rather have Mara, but it's effectively a wash). I like that group quite a bit, actually.

This round sucks. In a perfect world, I had Goring, Richter and Gadsby all on my team. I had been looking at Gadsby for a solid 5 rounds. I held off cause I didn't think he would go.

Rangers re-sign Rosival, 4 years 20 mil. I like Rosival a bunch, but 4 years 20 mil? What the fuck? He's not worth that much money. Money we need to re-sign Jaromir Jagr, perhaps? Or Sean Avery? or Brendan Shanahan? Having said that, if we didn't sign Rosival we'd be pretty much fucked. Campbell and Liles both have new homes, and there's not much left. If we can get Redden without over paying him I'd like that, but I don't want to break the bank over that guy.

Just got back from a Jacksonville Suns game. It was 0-0 when we left, in the 15th inning. Suns have a pitcher playing in the outfield. They were playing Chatanooga who I believe are affiliated with Cincy. Fairly certain Chatanooga didn't have a hit after the 8th inning. Tim Kurkjian wrote something on ESPN the other day about never knowing what you're going to get when you go to a baseball game. Say, 15 innings of no runs, for example.
