He was just fine as a pro coach. Fastest coach in Rangers history to 100 wins. Also, people forget he won silver in 2002 as well.

Me and my brother were going to see them in San Fran (he lives in Berkley) but the price was something ridiculous. I may see Modest Mouse on the 25th if I can round up some people to go with.

First Brad Park, then Ken Morrow. I swear to God Max, you're fucking killing me. And CG, honestly, if you had a team of a Gretzkyless Kurri and a Heatley/Alfredsonless Spezza, you'd only be hurting yourself. Kurri, ok, but Spezza? I'd never dream of picking him without the other 2.

That's definitely what I meant to say. I rushed.

Jason Spezza. Jason Spezza is in a three way tie for most points in a single post season with 22. He shares that record with Dany Heatley and Daniel Alfredson. Individually, I just made three pretty crappy picks, but collectively it's the most logical thing to do. Select three great players in the environment they'll play the best. I can only hope that a line of Hull/Niewendyk/Ovechkin will be dominant. I can only guess, or hope, or speculate. The CASH line though, we know is the best in the National Hockey League. Let's take the Rangers for example. Last offseason they made a huge splash signing the two best centermen avalible in Chris Drury and Scott Gomez. These two instantly became the best centers on the team, but it wasn't until he was put on the same line as rookie Brandon Dubinsky that the Rags superstar Jaromir Jagr got going offensively. Hockey is in many ways so much about chemistry, and with this series of picks I feel I've done pretty well.

Saw Vampire Weekend tonight with Harlem Shakes. For a band I initially didn't like, Vampire Weekend puts on a really fun show. Afterwards we hung out with the singer from Harlem Shakes. Cool guy. I'm a little surprised we were the only ones who approached him though, he was just chilling outside smoking a cigarette. How come we don't have a live shows thread?

What do you guys think of The Avett Brothers? People had been recomending me this "Emotionalism" album for months it feels like, and I guess a couple of these songs are sort of interesting, but I feel like I'm missing something. Should I try a different album or just fuck it?

The cheesesteaks at Citizens Bank Park suck? How the hell is that possible? If I ever go there, that'd be the first thing I think to order.

Do you think if he had won the Triple Crown they would have given him the rabbit? That's all he wants.

ICP fans give their baby a Jullago funeral.

Is a Juaggalo just an ICP Fan? Why do they get a name? What the hell are you guys talking about? -
Scott Kazmir pitched another gem last night. He's on a pretty incredible stretch.

Quietly one of the best running backs ever. 14,101 yards, good for fourth all time. 5 time all pro, 5 time pro bowler, Rookie of the Year, 4.0 YPC career, lead the league in rushing yards in 2004. I pick Curtis Martin.

Daniel Alfredsson

From what I read, it sounds like the Mets drafted very well. Davis was apparently the best power hitter left on the board, and can play some outfield. Keith Law called the Havens pick "great", and he may move to either 2nd base or catcher (that sounds bizarre. 2nd base or catcher?) and in the compensation round they drafted a righty who throws 93-94, sometimes hitting 96. He has a slider but isn't consistent with it yet. I like it. This is just what I read from various blogs and shit though. Though it sounds like the Rockies really hit the jackpot with that Friedrich guy at 25.

God damnit, dude.

I voted for groups of linemen, too. But we're not doing that, so I might as well participate.
-
Shit, you're right. My bad.

Danny Heatley

Bruce Matthews. 14 time pro bowler, 12 time all pro. A ninth round pick, too.

Calm the fuck down. So, the Red Sox miss Scott Kazmir in this series with the Rays. They really lucked out there. I don't know that anyone in the AL is pitching better than Kazmir. It sucks that the Rays finally get a nationally televised game and Edwin Jackson starts.

Yeah, this is my favorite album of the year. At least until August 18th when Ra Ra Riot releases The Rhumb Line.

Completely true.
