I definitely like the wild card, but yeah, fuck interleague. The wild card, really, is just more fair. To send a 90 win team home and an 85 win team to the playoffs because they play in different time zones shouldn't be, and the wild card fixes that without really shitting on too much of the pride that should come from winning the division.

They have two first round picks (#18, from Atlanta and #22), plus a sandwich round pick (#33). Picks outside the top 10 are usually less than sure things. Out of those three picks, it would be difficult to project more than one of them as a future quality major leaguer. Clearing out your top 4 or 5 is going to devastate the system, especially one as top heavy as yours. But it may be worth it for Santana. You know, cleaning out the farm system or not...I think I'm leaning towards making this deal.
