It's his mom. They've been planning that angle for a while now. Hopefully his momma will be Martin Lawrence in his "Big Momma's House" gear. Isn't Kiebler in the second movie? That would be some good cross-promotion there. Then they could have a typical WWE-style reveal late in the angle - OH MY GOD SHELTON'S MOM IS A MAN! ---- Eh...ignore me, I'm crazy. But anyway, it's his mom.

    where has this lot gone?

Shamrock is in pretty bad shape right now, as far as injuries and just being worn down. In his last few MMA fights he's been dominated. Maybe he could come back to wrestle occasionally but there is no way he could wrestle constantly at tapings, house shows, PPVs, etc. He seems to have aged 20 years in the last 5 or so.

    Randy Orton: "Fuck The Military"

I don't like Orton but what is the problem here? Some fan was being a dick so Orton was a dick back...wow! The fan *was* a cunt.

    Kurt Angle vs. Christopher Daniels

Daniels is awesome. I love that little dog collar he wears...it's just so CUTE. And clearly Daniels puts more butts into seats - CLEARLY!! Opinions are subjective, but some of you people are just insane. Daniels puts butts into seats? No, he doesn't outside of your elaborate fantasy universe.

    2005-06 MLB Offseason Thread

Why *wouldn't* a team want Wells? He had ok numbers and if you factor out his injury numbers (right before and after he was on the DL) he had pretty good numbers. Plus he's cheap.

    2005-06 MLB Offseason Thread

The Yanks had plenty of pitching last year two, and everyone was either terrible or injured. Moose has been in decline for years. RJ is not the RJ of 2 or 3 years ago. Both are a year older. Pavano was injured last year. I think at one point last year all five of the original Yankee started were on the DL. Age and durability are real problems.

    2005-06 MLB Offseason Thread

Bleah, way overpaying for Damon. His defense gets worse every year, his arm is terrible, and he usually ends the year in a slump. Not that he is bad, and he is a big upgrade from Bernie, but it's just too much money when they need pitching.

    WWE Tryouts

Victoria has an athletic body. As I mentioned before, look at Chyna, or Molly Holly, or a bunch of other people. Anyway why not try out? Worst that can happen is you don't make it and get a little more insight into what they are looking for or what you can do to get closer next time. No point in wasting an opportunity. You can always tell your kids or whatever about the time you tried out for WWE. If nothing else times change, what's in today may not be in tomorrow. Rey Mysterio isn't a "WWE Male" and Eddie was what 5'8"?

Why X division is not good at all...

I don't agree with the strength of the claims, but there is a grain of truth. I have a certain level of suspension of disbelief, but I don't like it when the stuff going on is just TOO fake looking. For example I hate the move where someone sits on the turnbuckle and Trish does her handstand thing on them. Here is a novel idea - don't go sit on the turnbuckle! If *I* know it is coming, surely the wrestler who scouted their opponent also knows. Same thing with Shelton and his spot where the guy catches his leg, shoves it to the side and Shelton does a falling heel kick. Come on, we all know that kick is coming and it's easily avoidable. I'm not saying I have a problem with guys re-using spots. HBK does SCM all the time but usually the opponent is groggy, not just being dumb. The X-Division stuff is a manefestation of the same problem. It takes me out of the wrestling. Especially in a 3-way match where the guys just rotate getting knocked down. A hits B, C hits A, B hits C, A hits B, keep repeating. At some point it stops looking like wrestling and starts looking like interpretive dance. Now I don't think X-Division sucks, or that it is ruining wrestling or anything like that. I just find things that appear overly fake a bit annoying unless they are clearly comedy matches or something like that. From what I have seen Samoa Joe is pretty good in this regard. The 3 way between Styles, Daniels and Bently (? the guy with Tracy) in one of the early Spike episodes is a good example of what I don't like.

    WWE Tryouts

Not too make this about AmyAce but: If you have weight problems, I'm sure the WWE can cure those. An ugly face doesn't really matter (no offense intended) and a dumpy body can be dealt with. Look at some of the women who have been in WWE. Chyna, Asia, Molly Holly, etc. Sure, a lot of the not-so-good looking women didn't last too long, but a lot of the good looking women didn't last either. The turnover rate for female wrestlers seems very high regardless of looks. Women who look good are more replaceable than women that can wrestle. That's why Christy was released. There are a million Christys in the US.

The effects of the steroid policy

HHH looked awful tonight (well, comparatively), he was rocking a pretty good gut. Masters looked about the same to me. Keep in mind that Masters was a body builder and as a wrestler he should shrink some.

    The RAW thread 12/12/05

Nice match between Show and HBK, HBK sold his frustration well. When Vince asked Candice what position she wanted, why the hell didn't she say: "I want to be on top..." "..." "...of Raw" Perfect setup for that joke.

    The RAW thread 12/12/05

Cena's promo really needs some super-cheesy music in the background. Although I did like the "bootleg Iron Shiek."
  18. Ha ha this is comedy gold. Regardless of who HHH 2005 is, my thoughts on HHH are this: people do bash him a lot more than they should. His storyling with Batista was the best storyline WWE has done in a while, slowly changing Batista from a mindless animal to a threat to evolution, culminating with the Raw/Smackdown contract signing. HHH was a big part of that. As far as wrestling goes I'll take HHH over HBK. Not to get into a tiff about HBK, but I feel he does the same thing every match - get beat up, then land a flying body block, kip up, sweet chin music or something like that. If *I* was in a match with HBK I would somehow get some great offense in only to lose at the last minute. HHH has a pretty believable ring act. His promos are not bad although they do tend to be too long. If he spoke 20% faster it would be a lot better. The best way for HHH to win fans is the same as everyone else - participate in some engaging storylines and good matches. Right now WWE tends to just drop storylines for no reason, there is no continuity.

    WWE Wants Shelton Benjamin's "Mama"

Heavyset friendly woman is a racial stereotype? As people have alluded to, the most famous athlete's mama today (McNabb) fits that description exactly. Maybe you guys should all write letters to the McNabb family complaining about mama McNabb encouraging racial stereotypes.

The OAO Raw Thread - Dec/5th/05

Here is what they should have done at the end of the Shelton/HBK match: Shelton is just on the ground, looking dejected. HBK is glaring at him looking dissapointed. Then he helps Shelton up off the ground. Shelton is still sort of moping around. HBK holds out his hand to shake - then instead pushes him in the chest and gives him SCM. HBK then cuts a promo about how you need to have attitude in the ring - but you also have to be able to back that attitude up. In the end it doesn't matter if Shelton has attitude or not because HBK saw today that Shelton's a loser either way.

    Christy Released

Christy sucked. She sucked in the ring, she was annoying. Goodbye. Is Michelle McCool still getting training someplace or is she gone too? She seemed like she might have some actual athletic ability, plus she was cute. Christy appeared to have no athletic ability whatsoever.

10 things I would do to TNA right now

I have big problems with the 6-sided ring. I don't dislike the idea, but the execution has problems. One thing is that the ring just looks small. When you get a few guys in it it just looks really crowded. Another problem is the ropes seem really tight. Like when guys bounce off the ropes it doesn't seem like the ropes really move at all. A third problem is that I notice sometimes when a guy is going to bounce off the ropes he has to look backwards to make sure he lines up correctly and isn't too close to one of the six corners. It jus looks add and unnatural. A lot of that could just be solved if the ring was bigger. Too much of the circumference of the ring is close to corners.

    Mr. Kennedy.....injured

They should push Birchall instead. He's much more entertaining.
  24. Just changing the name would do nothing. But changing the name would indicate a change in attitude. A wrestling federation sounds legit. It sounds competitive. Wrestling entertainment does not. If I were in chart I would come up with some name that makes the whole thing sound more serious. But again changing the name by itself does nothing, what matters is the underlying attitude. Something like the World Wrestling Promotion would be far better than WWE.
