    Hilarious Wrestling Moments

The Bushwacker Rumble elimination. The guy marches along the aisle doing the Bushwacker walk, climbs in the ring, gets grabbed and thrown out the opposite side he came in on, and marches right back up the aisle back to the back and never breaks stride.

American Dragon added to next 4 IWA-MS shows

If all goes as planned, there is a chance I may be going to all 4 IWA shows plus an indy show in suburban Detroit on the following Sunday? Is the whole idea of 5 straight nights of wrestling shows a bad idea for me? Could I get wrestling burnout? And somebody check to see if RAW is in metro Detroit that Monday ....

    Chants

At one of the NWA Great American Bash shows around 1987/88 in Detroit, a small group of us started a chant of "Bruno, Bruno" at Larry Zybysko. I guess it was just loud enough for him to hear cause he looked over at us with this look of disdain on his face.

Rate these American TV shows for me please

I'd go with choice B: total shite People will be all over Sports Night on here though and it probably is the best thing on that schedule. Home Improvement and Moonlighting had their moments. That's about it.

Anyone NOT switch over to DVD yet?

I wonder if the success of the Flair DVD had anything to do with that. They carried very little wrestling until late last year and since Armageddon, they've been carrying pretty much everything that WWE has released.

    IWA-MS QUADRUPLE shot weekend!

Ok Ian is gonna really screw up my vacation here. First I was gonna just go to TPI 2nd night on the way to Michigan for vacation. Got that fixed so now I can go to both nights. Then they announced Evansville... no problem..that's a Wednesday and I'm off work. But I gotta decide if I'm gonna skip work Thursday and just go straight to Michigan from Evansville or go back home and then leave Friday as planned. NOW I have to decide if I'm gonna just skip work and go to New Albany....drive to Michigan and maybe pick up YNA so we both can go to both nights of TPI if he scams his way out of work Friday night. Or just drive to Highland. 4 straight IWA-MS shows in 4 straight nights is pretty damn tempting. And quite a road trip adventure all over Indiana.

When were you last a mark?

I was a mark in 1984 and still am. My first time in the Mid-South Coliseum a couple years ago, I just walked around the place and thought about the history there, soaking it in. Driving 400 miles to Highland for the main purpose of seeing Abdullah the Butcher up close and in person for my first time. And then standing about 5 feet from him and being afraid to touch him for fear of being stabbed with a fork. Getting to see an early title defense by Chris Benoit vs Triple HHH at a house show and the opportunity to applaud the man for a great career and reaching the big prize. The unexpected GCW Lightheavyweight title win of MsChif out of nowhere. And the series of standing ovations she was given on 3/6 in her Highland debut. Matt Sydal vs AJ Styles The TNA PPV debuts of Matt and Delirious There's probably a bunch more

    IWA-MS announces show for 9/15

They're getting closer. Evansville is only about a 2 1/2 -3 hour drive as opposed to 6 to Highland. Now if I can just talk someone into booking an IWA-MS show in Cairo, Illinois.......

    Mr. Bob Backlund

I was so disappointed when Backlund lost the title to Diesel. His whole character and his win over Bret was so entertaining that I was looking forward to a few months, anyway, of Mr. Backlund educating/ preaching to the rest of the WWF as champion. I knew it wouldn't be a long reign but I don't think he even lasted the week. Affectionately, he is know known as "Crazy Hands"

Almost Full Results For IWA-MS 8/21

www.iwamidsouthwrestling.com Before the show Ian announced the 1st round pairings fot the TPI, but I'm not one of those guys who goes to shows with a pen & paper so I can only remember a few of them. Hero-Quackenbush Samoa Joe-Roderick Strong CM Punk-Aries Alex Shelly-Ray Gordy ( I think). Also Boz & Bradley will defend the tag belts against the Wildcards & Tank & Iceberg,in a 3 way match. There were a couple of changes made & I'll get to that later. 1-JC Bailey over Icarus 2-Trik Davis over Ryan Boz Trik came out & challenged any of Fannin'sguys to a no-DQ match. Fannin went to the back & brought out Ryan Boz. I think it was supposed to be a thing where Boz was doing it just for some cash, as Fannin kept telling him that he'll pay him if he does this for him. Davis used powder, a plastic bag & finally a chain to win the match. Post match beatdown with Whitmer & a reluctant Danny Daniels unti Hero, Rotten & Collyer made the save. 3-Delirious & Jimmy Jacobs went to a double pin. Jacobs came out to the Fraggle Rock theme song which is kinda gay. Match was OK. They declared the titl vacant & later in the show it was announced that they will have a ladder match at the TPI & forfeit their spots in the tournement. So AJ Styles & Super Dragon will take their place. Styles will take on Jimmy Rave & Super Dragon will take on Arik Cannon. Dragon is on loan from JAPW & if he advaces to the second night IWA has to send someone who lost on Night 1 to the JAPW show on 9/18. 4-Matt Sydal over 'Spyder' Nate Webb. This was match was for the NWA Midwest X-Division title which I guess Suydal won on Friday. Match was pretty good. Sydal shined here as usual. 5- American Dragon over Chris Hero via submission in about 25 minutes. Match was very good, on par with Dragon's match last month against Cannon. Finish saw AmDrag jit a top rope cross arm breaker & followed that up with the cattle mutilation. Dragon wanted to shake Hero's hand afterwards but Hero pushed him. Cannon came down & told Hero he again lost to someone that he's already beat. He told AmDrag to get out of his ring, AmDrag went to hit him but didn't & left. Cannon took the mic so Hero wouldn't complain to the crowd. 6-Adam Pearce over Justin Kage. Before the match Pearce told Kage he was his father after he got his mom pregnant by fucking her in the ass. SHOCKING. Kage no-sold it though so I think Pearce may be lying or at least stretching the truth because you can't really get chicks pregnant that way. Right? Match was big man, little man stuff. Some people compare Kage to Sydal & although Kage is decent Sydal is a LOT better. 7- Nigel McGuiness & Chad Collyer over Whitmer & Daniels. Lots of communication problems for Whitmer & Daniels which led to Whitmer leaving Daniels to get beat. after the match Daniels said Whitmer was bring & had no charisma. No really. 8-Cannon over Homicide. The win streak continues. This match was very good. Cannon took a beating including a nasty headbutt to the face. You could here Homicides head hit Cannons face. After the match Homicide wanted to shake Cannon's hand but got water spit in his face instead, so Cide & B-Boy beat Cannon up a little bit & Cide was going to hit him with the Copkiller until Chris Hero broke it up. He said that he would take care of Cannon. Cide & B-Boy were pissed but left without finishing Cannon. Hero told Cannon he may be better than him but he wasn't a man. 9- Stone over Ian Rotten when NWA Midwest president Ed Shuman (sp?) stopped the match due to blood loss. So they will have a non sanctioned match at TPI where any thing goes. Lacey was interviewed by Dave Prazak who looks like Susan Powter (remember her) with his hair blond. I kid cause I care Dave. Don't worry it'll grow out. Lacey has a knee injury but is "milking it" so she doesn't have to defend the title. But she will defend against Mercedes Martinez at the TPI. 10- CM Punk over B-Boy with a torture rack. Yes Lex Lugars finisher won a match in IWA. It fit the story line of the match though & the match was pretty good, crowd seemed to be getting a bit tired though as it was midnight...which is why I left before the lumberjack match. Good show, worth getting the tape. Hero-American Dragon was real good & I'd like to see them do it again.

Almost Full Results For IWA-MS 8/21

I didn't see it. The guy who posted this on the IWA board left before the lumberjack match. I was gonna originally go but I just decided I didn't want to make the 6 hour drive. Plus I saved my paid day off from work so I can hopefully go to both nights of TPI.
  13. Yeah CI3 came out a couple months ago straight to video. As for me, I watched Eyes Wide Shut again last night trying to see if it got better. And mostly cause I had nothing else to do at 4 am. 6/10 It did get better. I hated it more the first time I watched it.

Tell of a time when someone said

The only thing I can really think of is Eddie Gilbert blew out his knee wrestling Kevin Sullivan on a house show in Detroit. The medics worked on him in the ring for maybe about 10 minutes and , to me, it was obvious that he really was hurt. That and Sullivan pinned him clean out of nowhere so they could end the match and get him out of there. Anyway, the people around me were getting pissed that it was taking so long to get Gilbert out of the ring. Don't know if they were just impatient or thought it was just an angle taking too long but they started booing and bitching about it.

    Anyone agree with me?

My first RAW (well, last half of RAW) I get to see in ages and I really liked the turn against Orton. Like many, I was surprised it happened this quickly but it does make sense at least. One way they could have prolonged the time before the turn was that ,since they played up the youngest champ bit, HHH is ok with Orton winning because he figures Randy's youth and inexperience will catch up with him and he'll drop the title to someone like Benoit again in a short period of time. When that doesn't happen, HHH starts getting antsy and frustrated and then they drum Orton out of the group. But I'm fine with the way things went down. Watching HHH with a smile on his face saying "You're the man!" and then his face becoming sullen and repeating it.....I just said "Uh-oh" . That whole last half hour of RAW was some great tv.

    IWA Schedule Changes

I've read a theory that the Evansville title change was possibly an attempt at boosting attendance there. Gives people the thought that an outside title might actually change hands . People peobably went into that show thinking 'Oh, Delirious isn't going to lose the title on some CCW show in Evansville' . Now they know to expect possibly anything, I guess.

    Best/Worst Announcers Of All Time

Well, I liked Tony Schiavone very much in the 80's NWA, Bob Caudle, Lord Alfred Hayes (get past the goof persona, I thought he was a good analyst) , Gordon Solie ,Joey Styles (before he just started screaming Oh my God constantly, Nick Bockwinkel when he would do color on the AWA shows, JR. Jesse Ventura, Mike Tenay, and Don West had grown on me. Dislked David Crockett, Vince McMahon, Gorilla Monsoon (sorry I liked him as a host....hated his play by play), Lee Marshall, Cyrus ("tremendous, Joey Styles" was his significant contribution to the broadcast booth....liked him as a manager though) , Tony Sciavone in the 90's and beyond, the guy who used to do World Class (his name escapes me..not Mark Lowrance..the other one...Bill something I think) . I'm on the fence with Bobby Heenan leaning towards the 'liked' side. Usually entertaining but sometimes just seemed to be there to spit out one liners.
