Stay of execution denied for Stanley "Tookie" Williams

I didn't say give him a pardon and a trip to Disney Land. They just could have let him continue to do positive work for the community while slowly rotting away in his cell. At least you know your tax dollars to keep him alive are coming around in a positive way with what he was doing for the community, rather than with throwing Cocaine Bob the Neighborhood Dealer behind bars where he'll probably make more connections and then help the decline of the community further when he finally gets out.

The kid from A Bronx Tale killed a cop

I'd be more worried if Joe Pesci came to my door. He's suppose to be hard to really upset but when he does go off he supposedly has a reeeeeal bad temper.

He did. You just haven't done your homework on the matter and thus don't know of the other things he did.

As soon as he's put in Gen Pop he's dead. If he's put in solitary then its even worse than being on Death Row. He didn't cooperate and ended up being executed. He sure did have alot of great options to work with.

You just don't want Anna Benson to leave. If the Mets traded Beltran they could have Nady play CF. I think a fair deal for the three teams would be... Mets get Manny Ramirez and Juan Dominguez Red Sox get Nix and Beltran Rangers get Kris Benson, Kaz Matsui, Abe Alvarez, and a bit of money from both the Mets and Red Sox.

Ving Rhames is a terrible actor though. Maybe Michael Clarke Duncan, but not Ving Rhames.

Bergen Record is talking about basically a three team trade that would end up... Rangers get Kris Benson Mets get Manny Ramirez Red Sox get Lance Nix, RHP Juan Dominguez, and Carlos Beltran works well for Boston but makes little sense for both the Mets and Rangers.

Since then he helped save countless lives. He's dead now so it doesn't really matter either way, but I think it was stupid for them to kill their most effective tool against gang warfare.

Stay of execution denied for Stanley "Tookie" Williams

his life was devoted to serving the community even though he knew he was never leaving prison alive. He was doing something real positive and not living a glamourous life within prison because of it. He could have been left to keep on doing what he was doing. They basically just killed one of their greatest tools against gang warfare.

ok, they shouldn't have killed him. They should have let him keep on doing what he was doing inside of prison. Its not like he was living some great life within those walls. Oh, and Jamie Foxx did an excellent job in that film

Is this the guy that Jamie Foxx portrayed in an FX made for TV movie?

If Murton stole two in 51 games, there's no way he's taking 30 bases in a season. 20/20 is more realistic, but even then may be a stretch. Give him time, man. I watched him in the Cape League and he's an incredible player. I was shocked to shit that he was there for the Red Sox to draft and I felt pretty bummed when he was dealt along with Nomar. Not that I cared to see Nomar go, but you think at the time he would have been enough to get that whole deal done. Pardon my ignorance on this, but is the Cape League the Cape Cod League, or something else? Yes. Its miles ahead of the Arizona Fall League and other places in terms of competition. Most of your first round picks will have played in the Cape League right before being drafted. He was the 2002 Cape League MVP and also won their Home Run Derby showing that he does have the potential to be a future homerun threat.

I still believe Matt Murton has the potential to be a 30/30 guy in a few years. How I wish the Cubs would have taken David Murphy instead.

Red Sox contact Roger Clemens' agents Link A rotation of Clemens Schilling Beckett Papelbon Wakefield for one year would just be sick if all of them stayed healthy. It also makes Clement more expendable and with the market for starting pitching right now...well he'd make a very good trade chip one would think. Nothing close to happening but its still fun to think of as a Red Sox fan.

Nah. If he can rush like that then Nebraska would snatch him up.

I'm praying that the Manny for Miggy deal ends up happening. From there I wouldn't mind seeing the Red Sox sign Reggie Sanders on the cheap to play LF. I also agree that if Loretta is healthy then giving up only Mirabelli for him was highway robbery. Shoppach can do just as well as he did most likely. Let Marte play first base with Lowell at third.
