I doubt Konnan has any real political influence in the back. He'd have to grin and bare it or leave, and his leaving would be no big deal.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Does Captain Ron count? I liked that one. -
I think what most people have a problem with is that Spike isn't taking full advantage of what has the makings to be a very good promotion. Jeff Jarrett issues aside I enjoy(or I should say "enjoyed" since they shut my cable off) watching this but the time slot is terrible. Wed at 9pm would be fine. I don't believe it would really be competing with anything. Ratings would improve thus leading to more buyrates for PPV and then the sponsor time costs more which leads to Spike recieving more cash.

I'll cross my fingers for Ervin Santana and Casey Kotchman then. If they have to take back Erstad well...I'm ok with that. At least he can play solid defense and get on base better than Millar can nowadays. Oh, and if Millar returns to the Red Sox as anything other than a coach then the rampage you hear about on the news in the future will have involved me.

Mickie James Panties Up for Auction
Failed Bridge replied to The Niggardly King's topic in The WWE Folder
Disturbing and/or creepy are the only words that fit this auction. -
I saw the news article where you got those statements G-Moss, and while a supposed "top ranking official" within the Mets said that, lets remember that the team is lead by Omar Minaya. The same man that gave up Grady Sizemore, Brandon Phillips, and Cliff Lee to get Bartolo Colon. Then when he traded him he got Jeff Liefer and Rocky Biddle in return. He can probably justify to himself that with Jorge Julio now in the fold he can afford to lose Heilman. Who knows, its Minaya.

GAH! BOARD! WHAT THE FUCK YOU DO?

Black Lushus brings up an excellent point in his last sentence. -
Awwwwww, c'mon. That's one of the great gimmiks of the 80s. They could be savage islanders while Joe is just a monster of a man. I'd mark for the group big time.

Twins are trying to acquire Luis Castillo. Red Sox aquired RHP Jermaine Van Buren from the Cubs for a PTBNL. Van Buren had 134 strikeouts in 112IP in the minors last season I wouldn't mind the Red Sox aquiring Abreu at all but they would need another RH bat. Rumors here last month were that there were discussions of a Trot Nixon and Matt Clement for Abreu deal. Moving Kris Benson for Julio is probably a way of freeing up cash to trade for Manny. Well...that and with the signing of Billy Wagner they went over their limit for white players.

I just ate soup and after reading this thread its not settling well...

I bet Dale Arnold calls this a great trade and praises the Bruins front office tommorow. Pete Sheppard however will laugh at him and then call Bruins fans suckers for most of the Big Show.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Did anybody else notice the link to a trailer for Big Momma's House 2 in the media window? Why in god's name would they make a sequel to that piece of garbage? -
I've no problem with this if Vince McMahon is abducted by Islamic Zealots.

I thought Furcal was the best player on the market with his age, speed, defense, and top of the line-up capabilities.
-
I'm really surprised the Braves didn't go after Giles. They could use a power hitting lefty bat in that line-up and you would have thought his brother would have campaigned to have him there.

In that scenerio the role of bob_barron would be played by Jimmy, only because you could never fit a Braves hat on Timmy's head. -
Tom Gordon has been a closer for Boston, The Cubs, and for the White Sox (after Billy Koch failed miserably in the 03 season).

Chris Kanyon but as the Mortis character. I'd love to see him back with James Mitchell managing both he and Abyss. I think the two of them would make an outstanding tag team. Palumbo, Jindrak, O'Haire, and Mike Sanders. Who wasn't a fan of The Natural Born Thrillers? These guys all have chemistry working with one another. Jindrak and O'Haire both do a good job of covering up one another's weaknesses when tag teaming, Palumbo makes for a good big man enforcer type, and Mike Sanders has great mic skills. Charlie Haas. I always thought he was the better of the WGTT duo but he never really got the chance to shine. Bland on the mic but he definately has good mat skills. Danny Doring and Roadkill. I always was a mark for that tag team. A big fat Amish man that can fly is usually something only seen in videogames. Mike Rotundo. While retired from inring activities he could still be a great manager for a wrestler with no mic skills. Pair him up with Charlie Haas and it would be money in my opinion. Fatu, Samu, and Afa. Fatu and Samu could tag team again while having Samoa Joe as the singles threat of a 21 century Samoans stable. Afa was always a good kooky manager too. That's probably it

In 5th grade I became friends with my arch-enemy from Kindergarten. Later on in 7th grade he burned his house down playing with his G.I. Joes. You see he was doing a scenerio where the G.I. Joes were in hell and he had that be a large frying pan atop the stove. One of them caught fire and he waved the pan around frantically trying to put the fire out and the melted figure went all over the new dry wall sending it up into flames. They had to live in an RV placed in their driveway for like 4months while they fixed all the damages. He had the coolest TV too and that was destroyed. You could only turn the channels with a bottle opener.

Jayson Stark says the Konerko deal is 5 years $60mill and includes a limited no-trade clause.

I tried asking a legitimate question... -
this happened at least a week ago. I was going to post it but I didn't want to sadden Duke the Dog.
-
ESPN radio is saying that Konerko has re-signed with the White Sox. No numbers or anything given.

Tom Gordon's agent said he'd be willing to go to Boston and set-up for Keith Foulke or close should Foulke get injured. I'd be fine with Gordon coming back so long as he doesn't get an absurd contract. I don't like the Yankees getting the Red Sox draft picks, but Boston will get two picks for Mueller at the very least should Graffanino and Damon decide to stay.
