  1. The Jets were trying to push that trade when Abraham was talking about sittng out if he was franchised again. The Chargers had no interest in Abraham.
  2. It was just tendonitis though. According to an ESPN article Josh Beckett is excited and he said that Mike Lowell was extremely happy after recieving the phone call.
  3. Jacobs and O'Connel have turned the city against the team with their actions. Its not difficult to see why people don't want to bother with the team.
  4. see? Me and Al are on the same page sometimes! I'm going to bed. Goodnight you princes of TSM, you kings of the Interweb.
  5. that sure would give the Phills alot of left-handed hitters. RF Abreu 3B Blalock 1B Thome/Howard 2B Utley CF Lofton if he returns if I'm missing any feel free to add them
  6. final thought of the night Black Lushus is good people and somebody I'd sit back and chill with at a BBQ.

Up until 10 years ago that rivalry may have been the best in sports, even trumping Yanks/Sawx. Can't put Bears/Packers on that level.

  10. read the whole conversation bob
  11. Gammons now saying that the Red Sox will absorb all the contract, move Youkilis to third base and Bill Mueller is close to signing with the White Sox.
  12. because they got 2 great prospects and one very good prospect too. In terms of prospects Boston is giving up alot, and those 3 players won't even cost a combined $1mill this year. I'm not expecting Florida to pick up much, maybe $3mill overall ($1.5 each year left in Lowell's contract).
  13. Gammons said on a radio thing that money is being discussed now as well due to Jesus Delgado being involved. At first the PTBNL was suppose to be a pitcher not on the 40-man roster. Delgado was put on the 40-man roster to protect being taken in the Rule-V draft and the Marlins wanted him. Financial details and players passing physicals is supposedly all that needs to be figured out and done now.
  14. Link I wonder how much the Mets really will spend. They're going to get a closer regardless and probably bring in Manny too. Mets are also rumored to be interested in both Carlos Delgado and Luis Castillo of the Marlins (Castillo if they don't sign Furcal). Only thing they'll have to ask themselves is how much of the farm system do they want to deplete.
  15. Link According to Rotoworld the minor league pitcher is 21 year old relief prospect Jesus Delgado. Florida got 3 good prospects here so I expect them to pay a small chunk of the Lowell contract.

Ahmad Carrol just called the ref a "mutha'fucka" while pleading his case for offensive pass interference. I wonder who was they have mic-ed up so that was audible.
  17. bob's in here. I sense a lecture. I'm sorry bob, ok? I'M SORRY!
  18. God isn't going to be a fan of Texas A&M if he watches the sport.
  19. after hearing about the hockey player suffering a seizure from Czech I thought this thread could use a bit of a laugh. WEEI in Boston has something called The Whiner Line where callers can leave minor rants and then they get played at the end of the day. Here's what one man had to say about the Bruins.
  20. he said that in an interview and while the Astros probably won't be offering Clemens arbitration (he'd make like $20-21mill) the Yankees would be wise to wait until around mid-December to even ask because they'd lose two draft picks for him. Of course, Clemens could be signed back up with the Astros by then...its a double-edged sword.
  21. If it is then it won't be New York calling. They let him go on waivers last year, but put a claim through on Andy Pettite. I was just thinking, if Manny does get traded then it will most likely be to the Mets. Any deal with the Mets will most likely include Yusmeiro Petit. If that happened then the Red Sox could be looking at a future staff of Beckett Papelbon Lester Petit random 5th starter that would be a filthy rotation
  22. You're thinking of Mack Brown, the head coach of Texas. His players seem to always stay for their senior campaign.
  23. running backs have a very short shelf-life on average. His stock can't get any higher and he's on his way to winning possibly another National title and maybe the Heisman. There's no way he stays in college. LaDale White probably will stay though
  24. The Twins have shown interest in Lowell. If the Red Sox could move him there and eat about half the contract while picking up somebody like J.C. Romero then I'd be happy as a pig in shit. Essentially it would be... Sanchez Hanley Ramirez (who has a shot at being a stud player) PTBNL $9mill for Josh Beckett J.C. Romero I can live with that. I don't have to pay the $9mill
