I expect a multi-person match. Of which Undertaker will possibly be involved with.
-
Sounds like they figured the match needed more time to build since it was quite random and it's a good SD main event for next week. Also sounds like Vince may have gone to UT to solve a problem with the main event. Vince does love the big men in panic situations.

Such a great show tonight. Sadly, only 23 people watched it.
-
They started airing the videos before Cena injury. WWE doesn't always induce money making logic and this is another example. Though, honestly? Jericho doesn't make a difference in the grand scheme of things. Ratings aren't shooting to 5.0 upon his return and buys aren't moving over the quarter million mark on his name.

A hometown kid walking away on top? That can't happen in WWE. -
The ratings would be brutal. I've come around on my thinking about this move, it's better to stick it on friday where expectations aren't as high as other nights.

I just tuned in, what's with all the bugs?

ECW 10.2.07 (Vince McMahon McMahon to make WWE Title announcment)

If Big Daddy doesn't knock out both of the challengers and issues a match for Punk at No Mercy, I'll be stunned. -
The WWE Title isn't on the page either because there is no champion. Guerrero stripped Hornswoggle of the title citing concern for his saftey. There is no official word that the belt is done but there has been talk of a X Title of sorts for Smackdown to replace the CW belt. In other words, they felt the CW name was holding things back, so they'll likely add what will amount to be a TV Title of sorts for SD.

Travis Henry's stupidity warrants a thread? When it happens to someone meaningful outside of the stat geek world, then we can possibly review the relevance.

He can be so sure (i.e do everything he can to prevent/run in) that Umaga will crush HHH, that won't be an issue. Regardless, Orton can't just walk out and say "I'm the #1 contender, give me the title" and Jericho shockingly shows up. They need to show they had something planned. I expect a face to win the title and send the fans home happy because I fully expect Big Daddy V to beat the hometown boy for the ECW title. I actually just think we'll see Morrison return to run-in and he joins BDV in the beat-down. Morrison invokes his rematch clause for tuesday night with the idea that Punk is damaged goods after the beat down. Morrison likely wins the title to make things right in WWE land again. -

Here is the thing from a "kayfabe" standpoint, why would Vince not have a match set up if the idea is for them to likely just have Orton claim victory and "should be handed the belt" and Jericho comes out after the countdown hits? Would McMahon just go "Nah, I like Orton and he can have the belt". McMahon has to at least address that issue. I think he should make an announcment early in the night, perhaps as the show starts or on WWE.COM that HHH/Umaga winner gets to face Orton for the vacant title, with that match going to a non-finsh (setting up a gimmick match for Cyber, possibly even HIAC). At least it shows McMahon/WWE had a plan instead of Jericho just showing up. -
Freaks and Geeks wouldn't surprise me, given the success of those involved now.

It was a good concept that was poorly executed. I like the idea of retrying failed shows rather then semi-popular cult type shows.

I'm not sure why people get so bothered about remakes. Does it erase the existance of the original? I just see the remakes like most shitty cover songs. Nothing to be bothered by and maybe, just maybe you might get a good remake from time to time.

Would any team take a chance for Griffey Junior?

That rumor is laughable- Will Smith's son is like 8 years old. I don't think even Hollywood is stupid enough to do that. That is Jaden. Smith also has a older teenaged son named Trey. You might remember him from the "Just The Two Of Us" video.

I keep thinking about how McMahon said it would be a "historic" night. Granted, it's mere hype but I wonder if they might actually do something to warrant that claim. I do think it'll be a 4 way and I'll take Hardy over Kennedy. I'd honestly just have Hardy pin Umaga while Orton and HHH do a brawl away from it (probably with McMahon involved). Crowd goes nuts, Orton has built in excuse and HHH doesn't get "hurt" in the process. Jeff gets a short reign before dropping it to Orton at Cyber and that plants the seeds for what would appear to be WWE's current option for WM(Orton-HHH) since Kennedy looks to have fizzled out. -
I saw the plane while I was out driving. I didn't notice how close it was or take special note of the size.

I'd also LOVE to see a 16 or even 32 man tournament, for any reason they can come up with to have one. 32 man is over-kill. -
I have a feeling, they just won't use Steele for awhile. They may have just used him just for the hell of it, like they do with other wrestlers from promotions from towns the WWE is doing a show in. Well, he is under contract, so it wasn't a case like Collyer who works the local Ohio shows. I'm shocked no one pointed out Burchil and Regal teaming in the dark match. I know it was done just because they were nearby Louisville but I'd really like the idea of Regal bringing Burchil in as his enforcer. Didn't they do that already before Burchill decided he was in fact a pirate? Not quite. Burchil was just his protege. If Burchil sticks with the Ripper gimmick, he'd be effective in that role.

Might as well just use Cyber Sunday for that purpose. Sure, the name doesn't fit but this way you might get 2 good-decent buyrates. I'd rather do a 8 man one nighter, with the weeks before used as qualifiers. Eight men works fine for Raw. Assuming no new injuries/suspensions, you can easily have a 16 man tournament (the first round for Raw). Have Orton/Kennedy/HHH/Umaga (What I predict to be the No Mercy Main Event) go to a draw or double finish. If you do the double finish, you can use those two guys (likely Orton and HHH) to meet in the second round. You fill the rest of the 6 spots with Umaga, Kennedy, Hardy, Cody Rhodes (as the required underdog), Carlito and Jericho if he is indeed "back". If Jericho isn't back, you can just as easily slide Santino or maybe bring someone like Henry over. The qualifer losers can be easily placed with the low card acts. You can have McMahon rehash the Montreal finish with HHH in the first around against Orton/Kennedy/Umaga (which is what he will want to do and it's better to do it in the first round and not the finals). Build to a McMahon-HHH match at Series, which is where I think this crap is headed anyways. Let someone else win the title on the show (I'm pushing Hardy) for a short reign before dropping it to whomever wins the WM sweepstakes.
