Isn't this Smith's 2nd or 3rd season? Maybe he's still learning to gain that killer edge although I think it's too early to start questioning the man's ability to coach. A lot of good coaches struggle to make the pieces fit for a couple years. Can't start doubting the man just yet. If this continues after another season or two, that's when the doubts should hold legitimate claim.

That makes it a depressing holiday. If you really want to change something about your life, you'll just do it whenever. Because you want to. If you only want to do it when the new year comes around, then you'll most likely fail because you're only doing it because another year has gone by... and you'll beat yourself down more when the next year comes and you see you've failed with your goals. I set different goals for myself whenever. I look at a new year's resolution as a goal that just happens to be set on the first day of the year. 'sides, without the institution of resolutions, it would be a strictly numerological holiday, something humans don't do. We need something, anything attached to it besides a ripping good hangover on January 1st. Aren't football games enough? I guess we need to give all the straight edge football hating people something to work with on this day.

Can't wait for Florida to play OSU close or even outright win and render all those "Michigan deserves the re-match" nuts wrong. Doesn't this happen almost every season? Some team and its fanbase insist it got screwed out of the title game and end up getting beat down in the bowl game?

Hanks, Smith, Cruise, Carrey and Sandler are bigger modern draws. Ferell, Owen Wilson, Brad Pitt and Depp are right up there as well. Stiller tends to do well with co-stars like Wilson but has a couple bombs of his own (Duplex, Envy). You'll make money with him with the right co-stars but the bank stars are the aforementioned Smith, Hanks, Cruise, Carrey, Sandler group.

Just wait for Coughlin to take the gig.

I went to a Best Buy that had well over 200 UFC and PRIDE (and other shoot promotions) shows from the early shows to the most recent events. The MMA section was twice the size of the "Pro Wrestling" section, which was mostly DX DVD, Piper and McMahon's DVD and some TNA dvds.

I think "Mad World" is trying to chase "Hallelujah" (Buckley) for most played dramatic song in television show/commercial. Although I've heard "How To Save A Life" in a few recent shows/ads as well.

I don't think Leena would last 10 seconds in the booth before the networks yanked her off. Sideline reporter? Sure. Wisconsin wins a fairly decent game.

I think WWE is dumb to try and pop a rating on New Years. I'm guessing just a .3 ratings bump, I'll be shocked if it bumps over .5. New Year's Day isn't a holiday that hurts ratings, that's NYE. It does hurt to go against the Fiesta Bowl but they get lucky as it's not a "big-time" set of teams such as the late afternoon game will be. They couldn't put the match last week as that'd draw even less viewers and they wanted to actually promote this event and they couldn't do it next monday. Putting it on PPV would be dumb as people really aren't paying to watch K-Fed get beat up. It's free and a few extra viewers will be bothered to watch.

Bowl Games are exhibition games. The rightful barometer of conference superiority is in regular season play.

They just showed the Wild Samoans and mentioned Rosey but not in name. Shocked they didn't make the "He's related to The Rock as well, somewhere on that tree" comment.

Exactly. We all knew CUSA was horrible before they went 0-4 thus far in the bowl games. Why do people care so much about conference bowl records anyways? Is having a bunch of so-so teams that might have lost the bowl game in their conference really going to make Ohio State or Michigan look lessser? Two close games right now with the Capital One and Gator Bowl coming to the end of regulation.

This is a big test for WWE. They could get up to a 1.0 bump at the most (although I'm actually expecting a slight disapointment) but need to hook those casual viewers and make them stick around for the night, even if it means pushing Cena/K-Fed into the main event slot with a multi-man match with DX/Hardy and R-RKO/Nitro. We'll probably get McMahon's ass, Big Dick Johnson and the basic low rate Crime Time skit.

Jeff Fisher. The man is so underlooked, it's not fair. It's not like he's some 3rd year coach, he's been around for awhile now.

I could see Moss landing with Tampa since I think Gruden might see that as a risk he can take. There's no way Dallas goes for another headache. Moss in a media market like NY with a guy like Shockey sharing the press, is a nightmare for the management.

I like Nicole Scherzinger but the rest of PCD annoy me. They were just fine as the club act with the revolving guest leads. Why exactly did they need to become mainstream and watered-down? Let Scherzinger do her solo career (too talented to be wasting her time with this act) and put the PCD back where they belong. Even so, how can anyone hate on “Buttons”?

I don't need a resolution to do what I want. New Years just means the calendar rolled around, the world didn't change any differently then it was on December 30th. I didn't need to sit down and decide "Ok, for 2006, I'll get a raise/promotion/do well at school/have a good relationship". I just did those because I wanted those and set out for them and got it because I made the effort. Resolutions are just for people to feel like they have a goal in mind but since they couldn't be bothered with it until 1/1, they'll forget it until the next year comes and remember how they failed at something they never made a true effort at.

It's not like you couldn't change that.
