  1. I'm slightly disapointed that Miz hasn't talked Coral into working for WWE. She's a fantastic bitch.

This Week in College Football 8/31 - 9/4

Steal a couple wins and UB could easily obtain one of the many shit bowl bids out there.

Let it be known that I went to MOH for the education, not the sports culture. Not a good night for the Redhawks. At least Kent State got murdered. KSU losing puts a smile on my face.

I picked Buffalo. Only because of Leena. Leena wouldn't steer me the down the wrong path.

Not once, and I think the losing goes back further into last season as well.

    Kurt Angle released!

Carl Edwards would probably fuck Angle up. He already does a more accurate moonsault then Angle.

    ECW renewed on Sci-Fi

Raw was moved to Sci-Fi, and with that came the expecation for Raw to do lower then usual ratings as well as ECW as the thinking is that Raw is used to promote ECW for the next night. With lowered ratings on monday, creates a equal reaction for the ECW show. Each show dropped about equally from their average.

No. I'm happy with Brandon Phillips for the moment, but thanks for the kind offer. I hope you get that basement prize you're wishing for. If you are going to suck, do it with style.

    ECW renewed on Sci-Fi

1.9 is still well above what Sci-Fi was hoping for and WWE expected lowered ratings for yesterday due to the schedule shift.

"He got hit by the gold", would be slightly less awkward. That, or they can do the old standby of "international object".
  11. Also, that one chick had at least 60 pounds on the other girl. That wasn't a fair fight.

I still would love to get one of those clown acrobats in the bed, though. Then push them off the ballons.

    oAo ECW on Sci-Fi Week 12 Thread - 8/29/2006

I'll still take 1 Hr of ECW with a main storyline that makes sense over Raw's version. I think we're being too hard on waiting for some ax to fall on Punk, they clearly have good standing for the guy. They don't have to satisfy Heyman's wishes. They didn't have to keep his gimmick and name intact. Yet, people still act like he's going to start jobbing despite having no real basis for this thought process other then the usual 'net assumption. He has been the most established non WWE/ECW Original yet, and he is getting a clear push. While Thorn appears every other week, It's Punk who has appeared on every show save for the first two episodes and spent weeks building his character and has effectively been pushed for his style and morals. Tazz and Styles aren't putting any of the other new talents over as hard as they have with Punk. Does that mean Punk is going to main event anytime soon? Not a chance but all this "HHH is gonna bury him at MSG" stuff is typical paranoia that holds no ground.
  14. I liked how the brawl took place at what appeared to be a gas station/McD'sparking lot. It speaks volumes for the people involved.

That has to be the show where Punk gets his first significant victory with some time. Crowds in the past have made stars out of certain wrestlers and MSG stands to make Punk that person.

True. I forgot. As far as the chants go, on the average, they seem to be chanting right at the start, but then just sit on their hands for the rest of the match, but then again, it may be due to improper crowd mic'ing and dead crowds in general. It's odd because they clearly chant at the start and pop at the end...but you can see some of the crowd getting into the match but no sound to reflect this.
  17. I think that was Blade. Blade is the one that's like 8 years old running around playing with Shawn on the Wrestling with Shadows documentary right? So Dallas is the one who had the column on WWF Magazine, right? Geez, he was like 12 then...so he probably realized that he has a massive IN as a wrestler and seeing his cousins, do it probably inspired him. At least he went to someone like Storm.

Despite the fact he's gotten chants for most of his matches and he's getting over as you can tell by crowd reactions. Most of the show is dead unless it involves the main event acts and we've seen plently evidence that they aren't mic'ing the crowd properly.

Smackdown Spoilers for the 9/1 Airing

I've seen limited stuff from Banks, and aside from his look...I can't really figure out why he got this gimmick. At some point, he's going to wrestle and have to live up to his self inflicted hype. I haven't seen SD in awhile but have they shown any footage of him a ring, even a highlight package?

    oAo ECW on Sci-Fi Week 12 Thread - 8/29/2006

Mike Knox is a Paul Heyman project. He's the one who wanted him in ECW. I thought that was the whole point of this storyline. I just wish they'd do a little more with Punk outside of the ring. Knox, wasn't really all that bad in DSW but he got pulled up way to fast. It's sorta funny how much would assume Vince was mark for his size but it was actually Heyman's push to get Knox on the show. The main point is that Heyman is obsessed with keeping ECW alive and I always felt the subtle character plot point was that Heyman assumes that all the original ECW stars would just ruin it again. They need to explain that Heyman just wants to keep the name around and if getting rid of the originals is the way to go, so be it. It's a more logical "authority figure" storyline then Raw's version. At least we get why Old ECW hates Heyman and why Heyman hates Old ECW. It's only been 12 weeks and it's understandable with alot of room to expand. McMahon Vs Shawn has been stretched since December and we're still not really understanding the purpose and reason it keeps going... As for Punk, they spent weeks building his character and pushing his morals and used that to established his ability in that ring. I hope they aren't going to do some "unbeaten" thing because that wouldn't work. I noticed they seem to put the Moore segments right before Punk's matches and I hope that doesn't lead to some program. I do like how strong Punk is being put over by Styles and Taz by pushing him as a new breed and a future star. Punk's still adjusting to 5 minute TV matches (which is hard after 4 years of marathon matches and a year in front of a crowd that knows every nuance about you) but I do believe he's heading the right direction... I just hope he turns heel at some point because Face Punk doesn't translate to TV and a crowd that doesn't know him and why they should love him.
  21. Dallas, was the one that idolized Shawn right? Jesus, that'd be a surreal program. That being said, I'm shocked Vince didn't offer him a OVW deal right away. If he trains with Storm, I'd imagine Storm trying to keep him from going to WWE and go to ROH and Japan first.
  22. A better topic would be not knowing someone "famous" in person. I've had that moments before and that said famous person would act like I committed a crime for not knowing who they were. I was visiting my bouncer friend at a local club and some asshole from one of those trendy emo-bands, (Seether) whom just finished a set down the street came in and he assumed I was the bouncer and told me to take him to the VIP section and I simply looked at him and went "Who the hell are you?" and he went all prima donna and stormed out. After being told who he was, I still stood my ground and felt "Who the hell is he?".

This is the NFL Preseason Thread

I guess people got tired of picking NE/IND and decided it was time for a change and Miami is this year's sexy pick that goes nowhere. In this day and age in the NFL, about 24 teams are realistic shots at the SB.
  24. This isn't going to crush Jericho. It's not like lasting a few more weeks on the show was going to propel him into superstardom. DWTS was an already established Ratings hit when Stacy did the show. Jericho will get mocked for a bit by the usual but he'll resume looking for bit parts. I honestly believe he has no desire to wrestle in the time being.

I'm pissed at LA, why can't you just beat Cincy like normal and let me go to sleep? I got class in like 6 hours.
