Why haven't they brought Al Leiter in as a studio analyst?

    Hulk vs. Orton SSlam

As usual, you are wrong. Brooke's single is currently charted in the top 100 in radio play, consistant air-play on MTV, and is #2 on Myspace most watched videos list. This indicates that she has been doing well enough with WWE's assistance. Thanks to her looks, the name and the pre-set national exposure via the TV show, Brooke Hogan has the ability to draw at least a modest amount while she still can. It's doubtful she'll have a long standing career because her limitations are obvious and novelty of being Hulk Hogan's daughter wears off. The music industry frowns on wrestling, as does most of the mainstream. Brooke is already facing a struggle via the connection with her father but it's a double edged sword because that is her 'in" right now. Brooke isn't media-savvy but her father is. The entire VH1 show, is built around Hogan despite how much they try to say it's really about the kids. It's the Hulk Hogan show. Hulk is looking out only for himself and if he can use his daughter to get more attention, he'll do it. SummerSlam is another pay-day for him and using his daughter, in his mind is publicity despite the fact the market Brooke is playing to is NOT the market that her father plays too.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Sting Vs Joe would draw a better buy-rate. Giving Sting a flash title reign to drop it at BFG to Joe is the over-all best plan for the company.

    Sports Mt.Rushmore

That same popularity that lasted less then 5 years. BJK's impact was felt longer then 5 years, Serena and Venus's impact was obvious... I'll give you that Evert and Blair probably aren't at Hamm's level but you can't really deny the others.

The Babe, MJ, Gretzky & Jim Brown What you said. If you wanted to add a woman, I guess Mia Hamm would work. Bebe Didrikson, Martina Navratilova, Bonnie Blair, Serena Williams, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert... would go ahead of Mia Hamm.

Owens, Robinson, Ruth and Jordan. I'm sure there'd be outcry if a chick isn't up there.

    Hulk vs. Orton SSlam

That egomanaic with creative control is a guaranteed 450,000+ buy-rate. That is all that matters. Vince doesn't care about Orton enough to even protest. If it was Cena, then you have a real struggle between the two. McMahon was all prepared to can Orton. You think he gives a shit if Orton jobs? Jobbing to Hogan hasn't hurt anyone before and I haven't seen Shawn's appeal to the crowd decrease since that program. The fans GET that Hogan is a nostaglic act and they go along with the charade.

    Hulk vs. Orton SSlam

Way to go, Hulkster. You want your daughter to have success but you gotta do it on your own terms to get yourself over a little more and bury whatever remote chances she had of legitimate success in the music industry. A Hogan/Orton program, while worthless in the long run didn't require the involvment of Brooke. Using Nick Hogan would have been more logical, as they already shown on Hulk Knows Best that Nick wants to follow in his father's footsteps... Just have Orton sweet talk Nick into turning on his father on Raw in a "dream" tag match with Orton/Edge Vs Cena/Hogan...build up Hogan/Orton at Slam where Nick turns on Orton and they get the last laugh. It gives Hogan what he wants, Nick gets exposure that he'll get down the line and Orton is right back where he started.

    HBO Sunday Night Lineup

They fired him but gave him a Hummer and an apartment outside LA. Entourage picked up steam tonight but Lucky Louie was once again great and even Tourgasm FINALLY was interesting with Robert's knee injury and the whole Niagra Falls shit.

According to ROH, Kenta Kobashi and ROH management were in talks for a rematch with Samoa Joe later this year but due the cancer situation, Kobashi will never return to America.

His logic wasn't that Contreras was "better" but if the game "matters" and you have to win, pick the guy who hasn't lost a start this season.

Remember those talks about Griffey, Jr should move to LF? Yeah, after watching Ryan Freel miss about 8 plays that Junior would have easily covered, let's just put that idea on the shelf for the time being. I still want to know who the hell they put on the AS team for the Royals. At least Pittsburgh has Jason Bay...

    7/1: #78, Observations From A Fast-Food Vet

We do this at work. It's not limited to fast food services. Even a conveyor manufactoring plant like us, knows the value of a good looking good as the main representive. The FIRST thing our customers and potential buyers see when they walk into our building is our insanely beautiful sales rep assistant (she is married but they don't know this). She leads them on a brief tour and warms them up for me and the others in charge. Yes; she gets paid a good amount of money because she's beautiful as hell. I can assure you if we put some dope who might actually know more about our products out there(like me? gasp!), we wouldn't get 1/2 the jobs we get. Pussy sells.

At least the Reds represented the NL Central with slightly better success against the Royals.
  19. You could easily plug Trish in the division as there are over 15 better american workers then Trish Stratus. Mickie James has done pretty well at pushing the division.

    6/29: Drafts, Election Erections

It has to happen and this year it seemed like it would. I do think by 2010 (assuming the people in charge don't go with the stupid expansion) we will see that 16 over 1 in Men's tournament (it has happened in Woman's but since when does anyone care about that?)

    Kenta Kobashi-Tumor discovered

Kenta Kobashi, one of pro wrestling's all-time greatest performers, is currently hospitalized due to kidney cancer it was announced earlier today. The 39-year-old Kobashi was diagnosed with cancer when results of tests came back after a routine medical examination. The company made the announcement on a piece of paper in front of Differ Ariake in Tokyo, its home arena, where they have a show scheduled. Mitsuharu Misawa, the group's president, was interviewed on the NTV Network sports news at midnight earlier today, saying that Kobashi's pain was such that he told Misawa he can't wrestle right now. He said that after Kobashi complained about severe pain in his waist at his examination, they gave him a CT scan last Thursday and the results showed a tumor on his kidney. Not much else is known but it is believed he will be undergoing surgery to remove the cancer. One can make a strong argument that Kobashi is the greatest wrestler of this generation. When he was elected into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame in 2002, he received a record 98% of the vote. He is second to only Ric Flair when it comes to the number of times winning the Lou Thesz/Ric Flair award for Wrestler of the Year, winning in 1996, 2003, 2004, and 2005. He has been in six winners of Match of the Year, including his match last year in New York against Samoa Joe, also an all-time record. Kobashi is known in Japan as pro wrestling's Iron Man, because he had five knee operations in 2001 that were thought to end his career. He was out for 13 months, and returned to become the standout in-ring performer in the world. Credit: WO, but found on Green Destiny

OAO ECW Week 4 on Sci-Fi, July 4th

Take away Lita, Edge is a watered down Brian Pillman. That is an insult to Pillman. Edge isn't a 100th the awesome that Pillman was. Hence "watered down". He cuts promos laced with worked shoot comments, built around being unpredictable, egomaniacal and "held down". Insert sexual innuendo in place of profanity, and you got a blonde, lanky and less charismatic Brian Pillman in Edge.

How did he even get that much power anyways? Look, the guy was a fantastic promo and loaded with charisma but what makes him so damn high up in the charts that he can bury an entire brand? I could understand it from Dunn, Stephanie, Hunter or Ace but Hayes? What puts him over other agents?

You forgot the Reds. 16 years ago. Well, there wasn't a 1994 champion. Meaning of the last 15 championships won, Reds, Braves, D-Backs and Marlins (twice) are the only NL teams to win it. Think about that. 2 expansion teams (one that keeps blowing up) a perennial runner-up and a team that has only fielded one playoff team since that 1990 championship.
