It's amazing to see the teams that passed on Kelly and Marino. I'm sure KC, NYJ and NE regret that. Yeah, but this was a pretty damn good draft year. I wonder what the NBA, MLB and NHL equivilents of the '83 draft would be.

I liked that match. Punk, had a better match with Gibson in FIP.
-
I thought that was Spanky in the triple threat match? Yeah, It was Spanky. I got confused because Cabana also had a shot at the title around the same time period.
-
^ Pretty much agreed, also you can add Gibson/Black Tiger from Manhattan Mayhem onto that list. Although, I perfered the rematch with Aries over the draw. I felt his match with Yang, was another example of what worked with Gibson. You forgot to mention the diaster that was the triple threat with Cabana and Homicide.
-
Well, I did include a pair of Gibson matches in my 2005 top 20 list, so it's not like I hate Gibson's work. It's just Danielson, has a better catalouge, especially as an ROH worker. Which, is what the subject line indicates. How exactly can you make a comment that ROH fans doesn't get behind one wrestler completely, when Joe, Punk, Homicide, Danielson, and others accomplish the same thing.

It's probably because Gibson patterns himself after WP's boy.

You know, I'm getting dragged to one of these easter deals tomorrow. Easter, is probably the most worthless holiday after the age of 10. Shit, even then Easter wasn't that great, it only seemed great because a few months had passed from the blitz of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Xmas and birthdays (for me) and you missed that feeling. Easter, is really just people's excuse to act like they are morally secure when they make their once a year appearence. Impress Jesus by going to Church in July, instead of tomorrow.

Hard to say that they never rebounded, when ratings soared, interest soared and corporate involvment soared as well. It's sad to say, but the truth is...Earnhardt's death changed the course of NASCAR forever, and some might argue for the better. Earnhardt, the piece of the puzzle that made him work and be so endearing to the fans was that, he was really just a big old softy underneath the black shades. It has been said many times that it was the ultimate irony for the Intimidator to fade out by being the protector. It was uncharacteristic of #3, to say the least. I would like to imagine that Earnhardt Sr. reaction to the current scene of NASCAR, younger and slicker looking drivers with product in their hair and the ongoing antics of their young attractive girlfriends brawling in the pits. I'd think he'd get a kick out of the last part and would have reveled in hazing the young kids of today.

What DVDs would you like to see the WWE release?
Hawk 34 replied to iggymcfly's topic in The WWE Folder
Piper, has a DVD made already and is set for release this year. There is a Mr. McMahon DVD that focuses on Austin, also coming out. -
Bryan Danielson, easily has a much better catalouge of matches in ROH alone. While I believe Gibson is an excellent worker and deserves praise, he isn't Bryan Danielson. Of course, I had Gibson/Danielson #1 on my top 20 of 2005 list, but Danielson was more active on that list, including two spots on my top 5 (against Gibson and Strong). Danielson, does everything right and his current heel run is nothing short of remarkable.

It's ironic, they encourge the wrestlers to work safer and do less stunty work and rule out stuff like piledrivers and alot of high flying stuff but they give these pushes to a guy who is known for injuring not just wrestlers but Diva's as well and another guy who actually caused the death of another worker.

4/15: A Night At The Ballpark (Part I, Game 3)
Hawk 34 commented on kkktookmybabyaway's blog entry in KK's Korner
I only been to one playoff game and that was just a wild-card playoff game. That was a really cold night, the crowd was JACKED but the game was a wash and we got shut-out. -
Cena and Joe, trained together and worked in UPW. They are good friends, and Cena even went to Joe for permission to use the "The Champ is Here" catchphrase. Cena, praised Joe recently(like everyone else) and Joe, has defended Cena as well.
-
Miz, is a good promo and a decent bumper. As for the Joe=Umaga? Probably, although considering McMahon is so high on Cena, it's possible that Cena convinces McMahon not to give Joe that gimmick.

4/15: A Night At The Ballpark (Part I, Game 3)
Hawk 34 commented on kkktookmybabyaway's blog entry in KK's Korner
Ah, I remember that moment as well. I was supposed to get my license just days after my birthday but of course, a huge freaking blizzard rocked 'Nati that day. So my test was canceled, and they couldn't squeeze me in until another week. So, I waited. I was supposed to drive my Mom's saturn (I had a truck, but I didn't want to take the Manuverbility with a pick-up). Then, to add to my torment...two days before my test was to be taken, some dick-ass slid on the icy parking lot of my mom's work and collided into her car. Naturally, I couldn't take that car for the test. My mom got an rental, which was a shitty Dodge Neon. Whatever, it was small so i used that for the test instead. I took the day off school (I was supposed to take it during winter break) and the earliest day they had was a late wednesday morning. Luckily, the roads were tolerable. I took the test and passed with a perfect score, which to this day stuns people. I tried to act like it wasn't a big deal when I got everything officialized but I was giddy as fuck. They handed me the paperwork to get my license printed up, I went to the local DMV. 16 Years, I waited for this moment and it only took 5 minutes to complete the deal. My father, slapped me on the back and handed me the keys to my truck. I called up my girlfriend and she squealed (I was the first in our group to get a license). That night was special, it really was. Me and Her, we drove around town all to ourselves. I still can't describe that emotional charge that comes when you finally arrive to that moment, everyone felt it. Hell, it's probably one of the very few things that we all been through. My first significant road trip, was just about 6 weeks later. Me and my group of friends, loaded into my truck and we drove down to Myrtle Beach. As great as it was driving to MB, I still treasure that night around the hometown more. -
No, see S.S actually got over. Masters, has yet to do this and probably won't accomplish that at any point in the near future. Vince and Shane aren't quite "new WWE talent"

4/14: White Trash Hitting The Wal
Hawk 34 commented on kkktookmybabyaway's blog entry in KK's Korner
Probably, KMART. The place is completely empty and that whole strip mall is basically KMART, a bar that constantly changes names, a semi-decent chinese buffet, mini dollar store, renovated Arby's. I figure they would just tear that whole section down and slap another Target there or something...even if there already is a Target by the currently standing Wal-Mart. -
Saying Davey Boy sucked is really going waaaay over the line. He had several classic matches after he bulked up. Well, maybe your line is at a different place than mine is... So, he wasn't having great matches with Bret, Owen, Shawn (then again, who wasn't?) after he bulked up?

4/14: White Trash Hitting The Wal
Hawk 34 commented on kkktookmybabyaway's blog entry in KK's Korner
Around the mall, from what I was told. Which is essentially across the street. Where I actually live, they literally built a new "SUPER-DUPER ULTRA MEGA" Wal-Mart Center, next to an slightly older Wal-Mart. -
To be honest, while I am usually critical of WWE's stuff, I will admit the first quarter of 2006 has been above almost all of 2005. 2005 was basically a 3 way dance with Shawn, Kurt and Shelton and sprinkle in a couple Eddie and Rey moments but ultimately had a pretty down year when only one WWE offering cracked my top 10 (NA) of 2005. Angle/Taker, probably is the early candidate for WWE MOTY but looking off WP's list, you have to put aside his usual Benoit fan-dom. The JBL match along with the two Orton offerings weren't that great. Edge/Foley, worked better on the traditional qualifications for MOTYC. Mickie Vs Trish, will probably maintain it's status of "Better then it had any right to be" of 2006

No, seriously. Why do people still pay attention to Rose, what has he done in the last ten years besides delay this album and be an ass?
-
Wait, people still pay attention to this guy?
-
It's been 10 games, aside from the fact Pittsburgh and KC are still horrid...you can't really base anything off just 10 games.

Jesus boy, booked it.

Load the first disc with the standard documentary, the neck injury from Nash, have him talk about the struggles of his size and his weight issues and the whole contract stuff with WCW/WWE in 1998, going back to OVW and throw in some random stories, which TBS can easily fill up time there. Throw in various comedy skits, The entire bossman angle...
