Not that I am expecting anything but has anything been said about Bret leaving Chicago yet?
-
I thought about writing out some long rant against WM22 tonight, describing my apathy towards it... Then I realized... I spent the last few weeks already displaying that sentiment. What else could I really add? I don't think it'll be a horrible show, I really don't. It won't be special though. It could have **** matches out the ass and It still wouldn't feel special because I haven't been given a reason to give a shit other then "It's fucking Mania". I'll give quick predictions on each match Triple H Vs John Cena Winner: Triple H Time: 24:45 Rating:**1/4 Rey Mysterio Vs Kurt Angle Vs Randy Orton Winner: Rey Mysterio Time: 17:30 Rating:***1/2 Hard-Core Match: Edge Vs Mick Foley Winner: Edge Time: 13:00 Rating:**3/4 Vince McMahon Vs HBK Winner: HBK Time: 20:30 Rating:*** Money in the Bank Winner: Flair Time: 18:00 Rating:***3/4 Trish Stratus Vs Mickie James Winner: Mickie James Time: 8:20 Rating:**1/4 Chris Benoit Vs JBL Winner: JBL Time: 13:50 Rating: ***3/4 TBS/Kane Vs Carlito/Masters Winner: Carlito and Masters (DQ) Time: 5:30 Rating: *1/4 Torrie Vs Candice Winner: Candice Time: Too long Rating:DUD Boogeyman Vs The T's Winner: Boogeyman Time: 3:45 Rating:*1/4 Undertaker Vs Mark Henry Winner: Undertaker Time: 10:25 Rating:*3/4 They probably throw Mexi-Cools Vs MnM on the pre-show. I'll have complete response to the show, probably tommorow morning.

The real issue is this, should Austin/Hogan main event? It'll draw the buy-rate and the interests, no question. Should it be given main event placement (the traditional form of main event being final match of the night). It's obviously the headlining match, but should they put this match over the respective title matches? (whatever they may be). We all remember what happened with Hogan/Rock at WMX8 and how the heat crushed the interest in an already dead match between Jericho and Triple H. Austin/Hogan, the heat would be nuclear. Nothing can really follow that. They could place it in the mid-card, and slap two piss-break matches after it to calm the crowd down enough for them to get back for the main event. Hogan's payment remains the same, regardless of match placement. The question is...Would those two ego's take a mid-card spot? BTW, you are insane if you don't believe Hogan/Austin would draw.

So for those deluded people who still care about this event, does anyone do any 'pre-show' stuff? Like watch past WM's leading up to this? I remember leading up to WMXX, that i was pretty excited about it and I watched WM X to XIX from saturday to 45 minutes before WMXX straight. I watched a little of WMXXI this morning but I wasn't interested in it. I'm going to order tonight's show, but I just dont care about it really. Some might call it a waste of $, but really $50 isn't much in the long run. My heart will smile at Cena's reaction from the crowd.

It's fitting, though. Both bad shows with weak cards and one good worthwhile match that took place in Chicago. You came full-circle.

Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania
Hawk 34 replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
They cut it because of time-constraits. USA controls air-time, not WWE. Besides "watch the unedited edition of Bret's speech" is a good promotion for the WM22 dvd that includes the HOF ceremony. -
They won't have trouble filling up the building. However, they made it clear they didn't really have plans for WM22.... They need to decide by SummerSlam, what they want for WM23. Hogan/Austin is probably already set for WM23 but you can be sure that we will be seeing alot of political games being played and possible cancelations again. Right now, I can't predict what will headline WM23 for each brand. If you said "Angle/Orton/Rey" for SD last year...most wouldn't believe it. Cena/HHH, however was obvious but they didn't do anything to build it until 6 weeks ago and gave it generic bland push. I will make a crazy prediction for the title matches, Kurt Angle Vs Batista III(I assume they will meet twice Batista returns) for Smackdown and Raw? Triple H/Carlito. I say Carlito because I can't think of anyone else left that HHH hasn't put down.

It would have been impossible for Storm/Danielson to follow the mega-blow off for Cabana/Homicide, which was an epic feud for ROH. It was Colt's hometown and the match was insanely brutal by all accounts and the ring was buried in chairs and barbed wire. They used alchohol soaked forks as well. Confetti came down for Cabana who danced for the first time in months. There's no way you can follow that up with a technical match. By alot of reports, The main event and the Gen Next/Blood Generation were the MOTN's. Other interesting notes -Adam Pearce was named ROH Head of Security. He spent the night walking around the arena with a chair to ware off CZW invaders -Delirious cut what was said to be a hilarious gibberish promo -Dragon mocked Joe's weight as they continue to build up to their showdown

How sad is it that they are pushing WM23's main event already when they waited until 6 weeks ago to get the ball rolling on this years Mania...and on the eve of Mania, still has zero clue what to do. -

Who? Benoit was busy doing Eddie, Neidhart is a nut-case and the Hart family isn't exactly tight with the WWE. Using Bret's close friend and great rival, was the right choice. -

They should show Shawn in the crowd before Bret comes out. -

Yeah he does. Which means WWE will hire him, make him dye his hair black, and do an angle were he plays Eddie comeback from the dead. Or Eddie faked his own death. BTW, his older girl is hot. We covered a few months ago, that Randy should've done an angle where he hooked up with her. She did a skit a couple years ago and had her fathers chops. -

Having Bret do what will be a generic boring pre-written speech after this, is kind of pointless. -

You gotta feel bad for Chavo. He's actual family to Eddie and he gets silence, while Rey and Benoit get big pops. Even Dusty was like "whose this guy?". Rey, has criminally horrid fashion sense. -

They need to get a 2 disc dvd special on Heenan out soon before it's too late. A two-disc shoot interview with various promos, interviews and skits over the years. That'd be a huge seller. -
