This match got ***** from me. I had no issues with the crowd. Stuff like that has zero influence on my enjoyment of the match. A hot crowd is always better then a dead crowd. (and I don't mean dead as in the traditional japanese crowd). The important part of the match, the actual work was superb. It wasn't complex or intricate by any means. It was just straight up and hard. I hear people complain about "lack of story". Lack of story? legend/rising star battle in a fierce war for dominance. A simple story of "Who is better" is usually always better then any manufactured pro wrestling storyline. Joe was put on Kobashi's level right away with a thunderous start to the match. Kobashi embraced the American crowd and was noticably appreciative of the energy in the small hotel ball-room, which is quite a difference from what he is used to. In many ways, this is the most important match of Samoa Joe's career (which says alot considering his already impressive short career), it's not his best match (that belongs to JvP2) but as of right now, it's his defining moment in his career. Kobashi didn't need to do this. His legacy was already intact. Quite frankly, Samoa Joe is the only name in the states who was even worth pairing against. Is this the greatest match of ROH history? no, but it's the most important match because it gave them what it wanted more then anything else, international credibility. Kobashi has said he loved the ROH crowd and wants to return for another show but time will tell if that happens, but something tells me Joe Vs Kobashi II would surprass the original.

That's the idenity of a good worker, someone who can work the crowd. Jake Roberts and Raven were atrocious wrestlers but they are among the best workers in the history of the business.
-
How do certain people/names get the ® treatment and others get the ™ treatment?
-
Yep, Hogan is a much better worker than Benoit also, and Bret Hart. Cause when he looked at the crowd, they went CRAZY. A good worker isn't just someone with good work rate. Hogan was a good worker.

People need to stop naming people under WWE contract. Mike Sanders was a good promo and nothing more. I'd only take him as a manager. I can't stress how much Homicide would bring to the table for TNA. I don't know how they could use American Dragon but if they want a true work rate division, Dragon is a must.

Austin wasn't the greatest worker, but no way should he be put in the same group as Hogan. HBK was correct in saying that Austin got over because of his promos and character, which is the same as what Hogan did with a huge promotional drive behind him because that was what got Austin over since his ability as a worker vanished during his run. He was incorrect in calling himself someone of amazing wrestling ability. Bret got over because of his wrestling ability, Shawn got over for other reasons.

I caught some of it and it was basically Bret (looking 20 years older then he did on the dvd) talking about Owen's death.

Bonnar/Griffen pretty much convinced me that WWEized wrestling can never duplicate what that match did as I was and still am a slowly learning MMA fan. Maybe it's not the MOTY for some but it's my favorite match i've seen this year

That's a shame about Earthquake.

what was this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Orton promo last October where he mentioned how he's made many virgins bleed. That wasn't in the script and Vince bitched him out backstage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Vince wasn't angry because it wasn't in the script. He was angry because some advertising executives were backstage and he didn't want them to see or hear anything that night that might upset them and possibly cause them to stop spending money on WWE. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then why did he take them to a Raw show?
-
Would people hate WWE for doing that (which would require incredible planning and detail to attention beyond their own little world) and toying their emotions or be happy that Eddie would still work shitty storylines and below par matches on a weekly basis and appreciating the "work"
-
Not to mention ratings would be even lower against House/Earl/Commander/Amazing Race. The show was decent until that completely embarassing, sick and idiotic ending.

When I got in a car accident a year ago, I don't remember fireworks going off.
-
25 minutes for a non-finish and ending the show with 3 people not even involved in the match? I love the WWE.
-
I loved Kane's facial expressions there.
-
Batista doesn't have the power of Eddie running in his veins?
-
The crowd chants "Big Show sucks" after popping for the powebomb.
-
It's still on.
-
I think its just general unreadiness as to when to move on from his death. They probably feel that since there is still a strong celebration of Eddie with crowds they should be trying to respond to that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree that it's okay to acknowledge him but if Rey keeps doing the Eddie enterance and doing a pesudo "Eddie is guiding me" push, it could get tasteless and come off as if they were using Eddie's death in vain.
-
I hope they dont go overboard with this eddie honoring here.
-
So I guess they are giving Rey the "In honor of Eddie" push after-all
-
Are they saying Observer HOF or the fake HOF? I'll go with the Funker sentiments.

Wrestler of the Year Samoa Joe Feud of the Year CM Punk Vs Ring of Honor Match of the Year Samoa Joe Vs Kenta Kobashi Best Brawler Homicide (Kinda meh year for brawls, so I'll go with a guy who has a good track record) Best High Flier Jack Evans Best Tag Team Most Underrated James Gibson Most Overrated Kurt Angle Best Promos CM Punk Best PPV Sacrifice Worst PPV Great American Bash.
-
Wrestler of the Year 1. Kurt Angle 2005 offered a small dose of quality and Kurt Angle was the most consistant offering of any quality and thanks to a wider range, Angle narrowly beat out runner up Eddie Guerrero. Feud of the Year Batista Vs Triple H Almost by default because WWE doesn't believe in the concept anymore Match of the Year Shawn Michaels Vs Kurt Angle-WMXXI Best Brawler JBL Best High Flier Shelton Benjamin (Had more awe-inspiring moves then Mysterio) Best Tag Team MNM by default Most Underrated Edge Most Overrated Carlito Best Promos JBL Best PPV Mania Worst PPV All the other ones but GAB was the worst of the worst and stolen from the WON... Most disgusting promotional tactic Hassan and the masked men.

Right now, I'd imagine Heyman would covet the possibility of Daniels and Joe. Who else do you think Heyman would wave his magic hand over?
