But who got the build-up in their match based on it being their hometown? I don't think they push the hometown theme with Rhino hard. They mention it but it was never like a Ric FLair/North Carolina push.

HELLO PEOPLE!!!! Chris Sabin, a hometown guy just beat Senshi for the X DIVISION title in a great match. It took Sabin over two years to win the title again and he does it on the biggest ppv of the year in Detroit. That make up for Rhino loss anyday.

So, not only do Joe and Angle keep fighting, which makes their first time locking up in a match less special, but they take away the one thing that might make the main event interesting. That even assumes TNA bothers to adhere to its stipulations for this one, because that Eric Young one lasted about a week. I think you over thinking things. That fight made me want too see Angle vs. Joe even more.

Sabin is the Monty Brown of the X division. TNA miss putting the title on him plenty of times.

It's hard to be different. Eric Bischoff recently said being different from the WWE is easier said than done when talking about TNA. TNA is not in the market of being different(because Spike TV is in control of TNA and want to go the safe route). They might claim their different with the X division and blah,blah,blah but the formula of putting on a national wrestling tv show is set in stone. I'm pretty sure if Ring of Honor made the transition to national tv, they would follow the same standard format as WWE and TNA. They can't go the lucha route because it won't work because lucha use a certain wrestling style(same things goes for PURO). Go back to the famous Monday NIght Wars, RAW and Nitro was basically the same show with different characters and outcomes. Hart Foundation feuding with the top babyfaces and holding all the major titles on RAW,while NWO was doing the exact same thing on NItro. You can follow the same formula but the execution is what people care about the most.

BINGO If they use fancy production(something TNA don't use) and have a great atmosphere that looks great on tv, they will probably end up more popular than TNA. That's why I want too watch the show because I heard it got an original Shotgun Saturday night look.

Talk about bringing tha suck.I've never seen it but it looks as bad as Starcade 94. Why did Bagwell-Riggs go 13 minutes? Why did Ray Traylor and Hugh Morris wrestle in a "Mexican Death Match"? It looks like there were only two good matches on the card, Masa Chono vs. Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero vs. Syxx. NWO Souled Out actually was the prelude to the current WWE Raw look. You can tell WWF stole the the look and feel to the show and gave it to Raw. It was a really cool atmosphere for it's time. I think Bubba wrestling Hugh MOrris in a mexican hardcore match was meant to be a joke and something the announcers can make fun of. Could be wrong

That's seems kinda contradictory to me...how can he be another generic indy guy, but then also have a gimmick that would overshadow the rest of the division. I think Shelley's the guy precisely because he has a gimmick that people are drawn too, whereas no one else in the division even has a real gimmick (except the Jackasses, I guess). Shelley could keep the division afloat until they build someone up to shut him up. I know the statement is contradictory but that's how things are with the division. Shelley character is stronger than the others BUT his gimmick is not the type to lead the X division out of a rut. And he still look like the average indy guy, him and Sabin look like brothers. Let me put it this way "He will only appeal to the regular TNA fan and they watch the show anyway". The X division needs something completely different,gimmick wise and personality wise. Austin Starr before he left was something different. Homicide is something the division never seen. I hate to be the one to say it but the X division is a spotfest division and there is nothing wrong with that. But if you want to have a division like that,where is all the super heroes or super villians? The late Pena from AAA understood this and became successful. Isn't the great Jushin Liger character based off a comic book? I know people preach realism since the UFC took off but TNA try that and it has not been successful over a long period.

I download the next three episodes and watch all three. Having a hard time downloading 9 and 10 because filefront don't like my computer. I can download the final three episodes but don't want to get so far ahead without watching 9 and 10

I don't think Shelley is the answer to the X division. He just seems like another indy looking guy in reality. I also think Shelley character would probably overshadow the rest of the division and just make things worse. I've been saying this forever but the X division has always lack luchadores or mask wrestlers in general. I think when fans see the X division they think "Best of the Indies" title. I think we need a mixture of "full time" indy stars,luchadores and puro guys in the X division to balance out the division. THe division also needs to go back to the basic and have great matches on a weekly basis.

It took Russo to see the potential in Smiley and Shark BOY? I think Shark Boy have potential to be one of the flagships of TNA and am being dead serious.

A legend division with Sting,Luger,Buff,Steiner,James Gang,3d,Roberts,JJ would be something neat. TNA would be better off recycling gimmicks and putting it on the younger wrestlers.

UFC been doing pretty well with that. Plus,they don't want to expose Sting's new look. Well good for UFC, this is wrestling and hype/angle building for a huge match such as this (is supposed to be) is a whole different beast. I don't disagree with you but there is more than one way and the return of Sting will get a crazy pop in Detroit,mark my words.
