  1. Hey man, he is the brains behind NWO and LAX. Now he is one of the guys behind bringing in Angle. TERRY TAYLOR should run his own wrestling promotion.

MTV is starting a wrestling promotion

I don't think MTV consider this as a traditional wrestling show because they are taping in "seasons" format. It's still possible this show can be the highest rated thing on MTV because MTV shows don't really do big numbers because MTV makes money regardless of a rating. I'm still going to watch just because I know this show will be crazy and interesting. The whole feel to the show is going to be different than anything we seen and the production is going to be crazy because it's MTV.

    Kevin Nash re-signs with TNA

I heard Nash plan is to announce the re-formation of the Outsiders and Wolfpac with Hall and Waltman at BFG.

    RIP: Antonio Pena

Over at dvd boards they said Televisa actually owns AAA. So I wonder will they pick the new promoters of AAA?

    JoeDirt's old school match thread

Cheesala or anyone else, do you have Xpac whole promo the night after WM 14 dissing Bischoff, etc.?

    JoeDirt's old school match thread

It depends on the matches Right now, I will download any 93-2001 WCW stuff, especially stuff from the syndies and 93 Wargames. I appreciate TNA,WWE, and Puro stuff but it's nothing I really want to download from these groups.
  7. You sure you're not thinking of Savage vs. Orndorff? Not that match but I would love to get my hands on this match as well. I would give WCW a little big more credit than that. They would be bigger than TNA and the current ECW. Probably bigger than Smackdown or on the same level since Smackdown is headline by Booker and Finlay.

Exactly. Things had cooled down a bit between the eight men after the Wargames, though you still had every one of the faces chasing Ric Flair's title. I'll say this about old-school NWA. They may have had a shitload of titles, but almost all of them meant something. How many did they have at the maximum? World Heavyweight US Heavyweight World Tag Team US Tag Team World Six Man Light Heavyweight US Heritage I know they had one or two more, I just can;t remember what they were. They also had endless tv time for one roster. WWE have a lot of tv time but have to deal with three rosters and that's why the titles don't mean nothing.
  9. May not be the biggest fan of ECW or really an average fan but I think the Raven/Sandman feud with Peaches and Tyler and the Raven/Dreamer feud being enemies since they was little kids is two of my favorite feuds of all time and it's not too many feuds I would put above those two. Raven was just one of the greatest characters I've seen. The promos this guy deliver was great and he did not need fancy production. The Stevie Richards,Blue Meanie,Super Nova stuff as Raven lackies was great as well. The execution of Sandman/Raven/Tyler storyline was so much better than Eddie/Rey/Dominic. I know many people say Sabu/Taz feud is the greatest feud in ECW history but to be frank, it's nowhere as good as the two I mention. That's pretty much all the ECW stuff I like, old and new besides some random matches.

The heat around them is crazy. Even the 94 Wargames with Col.Parker Team(ANderson,Funk,Bunkhouse and Parker himself) vs. The Rhodes and Nasty Boys had the crowd behind them and the build up to Col.Parker sweating because he was afraid to get in is what made me people love that Wargames. Or the 1989 wargames with Michael Hayes talking sh!t outside the ring the WHOLE match, telling his teammates they should go before him, etc. was great and when he got in the ring he gave the babyfaces some great DDT's. Other little things like that made me love Wargames. I think when WCW started to have the wrestlers come from the back instead of staying ringside is what hurt Wargames for me. The whole fake Sting angle, Mr.Perfect turning on Flair or Warrior silly magic tricks made the late 90's wargames fun. I hated the triple cage Wargames. This year Lethal Lockdown in TNA was fun and brought back memories.
  11. Do anybody got Paul Orndorff vs. Hogan from WCW Worldwide?

    Vince Russo

People say Vince McMAHON modify his ideas and WCW didn't but to be honest, I think the real problem is that Russo did not have put up with politics in WWE like he did in WCW and he was force to change his storylines every other minute.Vince was there to stop the politics from getting in the way of Russo ideas and it was the opposite in WCW.
  13. A evil Shark Boy vs. Young feud can be great if Kevin Sullivan and WCW braintrust was in charge. Too bad Russo and Mantel would not do this feud justice.
  14. Do you guys remember Hogan getting Most Hated Wrestler award from PWI on Saturday Night show? It was a year and review type show. I wish I've could of seen the WCW all nighter shows where they will show old matches from 12 to 6 in a morning. WCW had the best platform for wrestling. WWE and TNA can never pull something like this off.

    Bound For GLory

They have to do gimmicks to sell this ppv because it fill with a bunch of rematches that we seen this year. If TNA learn from Starrcade 97, Sting have to DOMINATE Jarrett. The main event should be extremely short and one sided. 10 minutes top. Nobody really want to see a competitive match because these guys is not in their prime anymore to deliver and we saw their Hard Justice mess. Jarrett getting in to much offense will not make Sting look strong, remember Hogan getting in to much offense? Angle appearence is what selling this ppv to me since I've seen most of these matches in the last two months.
  16. I personally think TNA blew it with the Angle hype. 1. Keeping Angle in a non wrestling role for a few weeks is not going to make things better. They mightest well put him in a match on the biggest show of the year against a big TNA star that always lose and draw attention,MONTY BROWN. Monty vs. Kurt would be a good feud to sell. 2. Why keep him off tv for the first two weeks? THe Buzz will die down eventually. You don't have to build up Angle, he's already the man. Didn't TNA do the same thing with Sting and Christian? People is going to be mad this Thursday when they find out Kurt is not going to be on the show.
  17. People expect for Kurt to be loyal? WTF WWE is the same company that will fire you because they have nothing "creatively" for you to do. WWE even change the rules to their new policy just to keep their tv shows from suffering. Don't get me started on the Eddie angle. People true colors is showing all over the net and it's mostly hardcore WWE fans who realize that this move can really put TNA on that next level.
  18. That's why they hired RUSSO at the same time.
  19. I wouldn't put BATB in this category, simply because they never really went overboard with the hype, and it was the standard "Who will it be?" type stuff you get in wrestling all the time. The mega buzz it generated was really only with insider fans, and that was only down to the fact that it almost came down to the wire as to who the third guy was going to be. Well, TNA only hype this on the internet as well. The major buzz is only with the insider fans. Non insider fans don't have any idea.
  20. You know what, TNA deserve all the credit in the world.Everytime when someone doubt them, they end up coming back with something good. KUDOS
  21. No kidding hell alot of times they would show the WHOLE PPV matches on TNN. Meaning they would piss off the people that did order the PPV and make people not want to order them. That's why I consider it the worst show ever. They gave no effort and when they did we was stuck with The Network crap. The production was terrible as well. Besides, 1998 and 99 ECW got to be their worst years in terms of quality. Paul Heyman must had writer's block those two years.
  22. That was during the Eastern days, talking about Bulldog. Did ECW ever made it in the green? It seem like they drew decent minor leagues audience around 1-3000 people per show. But they had a crazy roster and I know those guys did not come cheap. I use to watch ECW on TNN and I will make a bold statement and call it the WORST wrestling show ever. The Sci Fi WWE version,Impact,WCW Pro was all better. I take Russo's Nitro over it anyday. I can't think of any wrestling show I hated more.
  23. Completely agree, he sucks as an on screen character. That's why I think people hate him. If he would of kept himself off tv, he would not be the most hated man in wrestling. Kevin Sullivan post wrestling career(the real reason why WCW writing suck) pretty much escape the wrath of the internet by doing the opposite.
  24. TNA is just playing off it. THe original quote from TNAwrestling.com was your average hype machine just like you see in the WWE and other places in corporate America. When I first read about the announcement, I thought it was your average promoting tactic and nothing more. The insiders and fans on the internet however took this to another level. It went from being a small little quote to major news. Then news of Vince Russo came out and it took this thing to another level(which TNA leak on purpose). Now with this new response, they just playing off everybody emotions. TNA only release two quotes through their website. Nothing on tv or radio mention the announcement,if this was WWE it would in commercials, etc.
  25. This is just sad, wrestling fans is getting worse by the year.
