I don't think ECW would of took off ground if WCW did not loan talent.

I'm all for Joe selling a bit. Make him look human, he sold AJ Styles moves on past shows. Watch that Turning Point match, that match was even.

That will cost money. TNA is finding new and old ways of being cheap even if it's a sacrifice. Free tv deal,no advertising money. House shows with the promoter paying TNA to use their name, but the promoter gets half of the money. Without Sadler, there will be no shows in Virginia(am going to the Richmond show),NC,SC,Ohio,Philly or Jersey. Sadler is a money mark with alot of connections. If the new DPOR law and rules go into effect next year in Virginia, TNA and WWE will probably be the only companies running in Virginia because it will be too expensive to run wrestling shows in Virginia. With Sadler on their side, money is not a problem. Also, the deal with AAA will allow TNA to do two shows in Mexico this year. I think TNA found a smart way of taking their product on the road without spending a dime. Now if only they take Impact on the road????

Of course it is. 93,173 people jam-packed the Pontiac Silverdome to see the IIIIIIIMMORTAL Hulk Hogan lift the 700-pound Andre the Giant over his head! Not only that, what made it more amazing was that Hulk didn't know if Andre would let him win and pass the torch to him by losing the WWF title that night! And we all know that sadly, Andre died months later this historic contest. Seriously, cool stuff...wonder if we can get some Meltzer on JCP someday? I'm pretty sure Andre died like in 1993, 6 years later. Wrestlemania 14 was just as bigger and was the beginning of WWE monopoly. THis mania did over 700,000 buys when WWE was losing the ratings war and the buyrates was not on WCW level. Austin first title win, Kane vs. Taker first match. King of the Ring that same year of 1998 had the historic Hell in a Cell, Kane only world title win,and every match was at least ***. Summerslam that same year, did over 700,000 buys. Had The Rock and HHH ladder match that made both guys into main eventers and nothing but *** matches. WM 17, is probably the best workrate ppv of all time. It is the most order ppv of all time. Took place right after the purchase of WCW. Feature the best TLC match and Austin's heel turn. I think 60,000 people was in attendence, not sure? The last ppv of the Attitude Era. I also put Starrcade 97 and the first Starrcade on the same level. Bash of the Beach 96 is also on that level.

Sting's DVD looks great so far. http://www.tnawrestling.com/stingdvd/index.html

Maybe am not paying attention but I barely notice the Larry and Slick stuff. It seems like they do a 1 minute backstage interview and that's it.

It's going to be garbage and fill with Impact matches.

Rick loves to hate the southern promotions, seriously. Just look at all his work going back from 1995 until now ( http://rspw.org/nfd/ ), see the common theme. He have a problem with "southern hicks" as he like to call us. If it's not fancy production(WWE) or cutting edge(ECW), he will never like you. He still feel that way today. I don't even think he passionate about wrestling.
-
No he wasn't, I don't think that was ever in the plans. I think Sting vs. JJ been the plan BFG main event since January. I don't even think putting the title on Joe will do the trick. It will have to take a drastic makeover with the ENTIRE product. That include everything from the wrestlers, matches, storylines, production, the look, getting out of Orlando, etc. That is one of the reason why I think TNA should drop the traditional wrestling rules and just base their product solely on competition and 100% ring action. But that's a HUGE risk and eliminates TNA strongest stuff like Paparazzi or LAX. Let's not forget that the reality tv element is what attract people. TUF get higher ratings than the other UFC show for that sole purpose.

What is it gonna finally take for this company to realize that what they're doing is simply not working and take a change in direction? Probably nothing short of Spike threatening to not renew the deal if ratings don't go up. Nothing really going to make the ratings go up in my opinion. TNA try mostly everything so far. TNA and us fans just have to realize that TNA is only 4 years old and it will take time/years to build up a strong audience. How long it took for UFC to really blow up? UFC now averaging mid six figures for ppv buyrates. Spike and TNA is actually talking about a 2 hour show which means Spike like TNA enough to keep them on tv for the next few years. TNA is still one of the highest rated cable shows(top 5) for it's timeslot among the 18-35 male demo. SPIKE is the men network afterall. Plus, TNA is cheap programming. I personally think TNA should leave the traditional wrestling stuff alone, heel vs. face, storylines, etc. but that's a big RISK. I was thinking more of a promotion based on rankings and competition like boxing and MMA. Can the wrestling world handle something so drastic? Probably not, people complain when they see a random X division match on ppv.

Good point about the KOTM but the last 2 of the 3 KOTM matches have been good and all three had a surprising ending. I think the King of the Mountain matches have been a symbol and the guys who actually win the matches is the top dog. Only two wrestlers won so far but when they won, it was pretty clear who the top dog of the promotion is. The fact you have to beat 4-5 guys to win the title in one match in an all out war represents TNA. I think Bound For Glory is during the worst time of year. It's in October, people is back in school,it's getting cold outside, the middle of the football season and basketball season is about to start,World series baseball, people is preparing for the holidays, too much going on. That's why Survivor Series never really been that successful as the other major ppvs, even King of the Ring was more successful for awhile.

I always wonder why there no pro football team in Alabama or Oklahoma? Two big football states but cities like Jacksonville gets a team. People is claiming that the NFL want back in L.A., I understand because LA is one of the top two markets but they had plenty of chances. Alabama or Oklahoma should be consider for a team.

He just said he wished it would air on Fridays, not that it's already airing. And I don't think it would be a good idea to run a brand new wrestling show in direct competition against an established show like Smackdown; Wednesday night is by far their best bet, since it's the only one not currently inhabited by a wrestling show on national cable. But having said all that, let's just say that in my opinion a show that depends on guys like Vampiro and Waltman to be its main eventers probably doesn't have much of a chance in the first place. It will most likely air on Friday nights(and repeat everyday just like other MTV shows),so basically it will come on EVERYDAY. WSX sister promotion: Jose "Pepe" Villa is the financial backer for Vampiro's new Revolucion X Lucha Libre (RXLL) promotion. Villa has spent the last several years as a promoter for Antonio Pena's AAA promotion. El Infermador reports that RXLL will air on Televisa Channel 4 at 7PM every Monday evening starting 9/4. The promotion is also claiming to have secured a TV deal for a 30-minute show on MTV in Latin America starting in November. As previously reported, the debut taping is 9/2 in Guadalajara, and will feature Vampiro vs. Sean Waltman. Vampiro will make himself the top babyface and use rival Konnan as his adversary. Vampiro is billing this promotion as the most extreme wrestling in Mexico mixed with local music bands.

I heard Rhino will be feuding with Steiner real soon which make Christian available.
-
I know it will NEVER happen but Angle would be expose in TNA. All he know is the WWE style of wrestling and TNA is a completely different ball game. TNA don't cover up your flaws, you either know how to wrestle or don't,that's why guys like Hassan would never make it in TNA. He also have to learn the six sided ring.
-
This is why I choose take the whole Sting/JJ feud with little value and never thought it would be anything else. Sting whole mission since day 1 was to get rid of Jarrett. I think TNA should forget about Bound For Glory being their "wrestlemania" since Slammiversary/Anniversary show been the big show since 2003. I think Bound For Glory should pick up where WCW left off and make BFG a "Halloween Havoc" type event. Halloween Havoc was WCW second biggest event(you can argue that SuperBrawl and Bash at the Beach) of the year too me. Imagine this, October 30,2007, the day before Halloween, Abyss wins the WORLD TITLE. Is it me or does the LAX/Styles-Daniels feud feel like Taker/HBK feud from 97 in the sense that the feud have great heat and is not "suppose" to be the main attraction but is. The fact that the Ultimate X tag match is going on last(ala to Taker/HBK two In Your House matches) is an example of that. This have "Match of the Year" potential written all over it. No Surrender looks like a bigger show than the potential BFG show.

Not if their long term goal is for Sting to lose to Christian or Joe. They have everything mapped out and this is probably the first time in the company history where they actually had a long term plan and follow through. If Russo was booking,Joe would be a 2 time World champion by now and Christian probably would as well. As long as JJ is there, he will be a world title contender, that will never go away. Jarrett looks like he have another 10 years left in his body(always maintain good health). Unless Jarrett sells his stock, he's not going anywhere.
-
Remember what Meltzer said right before he came in, TNA was going to center the promotion around Sting for this year. That's been the plan from day one. As for the Sting/JJ feud,it's not interesting but not in an awful way. To quote Jim Cornette "It's not insulting". I don't feel embarrass watching it. THere are two main event feuds going on up north that is insulting and one of them involves a dead person and his family. It's not on that level yet. Plus,I've seen worse feuds in TNA. If you can live through the sh!t that went on in early TNA,then this should be more pleasant.

This promotion has a lot of potential. The fact that this promotion have connections to RXLL and NWA Pro. I can't wait until this November. It will definitely be different from TNA and WWE.
-
Hoyt was over with the ringsiders because he always went to the bar and drank with them after all the shows. I don't think anyone in TNA fooled themselves into thinking Hoyt got pops from them for any other reason. Hoyt isn't that bad, but he's nothing more than midcard material at best, and that might be a stretch. And that's how TNA will probably use him. Hoyt is in the same category as Bentley,Kazarian,Shark Boy,Lethal, etc.,their job is to lose, nothing more. TNA needs them, if TNA went out and replace these guys with Hero,Cobana, etc.,who will be the whipping boys?Hero?Cobana? The internet would go mad. Hoyt is the big heavyweight that loses.
-
At least WCW was not going to put him in a dress. If he was alive during the screwjob,he would of left.
-
TNA can keep Killings for the next 3 years under contract if they want to. Killings just can't walk away like Brown.
-
Roode is probably getting that spot because of his connection with D'Amore. Not that Roode is horrible, but a push like that could be given to any number of guys who are way more talented (Killings being one of them). Politics aplenty in TNA. But Roode also looks and fit the role. Ron Killings or anybody else in TNA do not.

Since they cannot get Garza, they should push heavily to get Mistico. It's really no other choice, he can really be a major star. If this was ECW(original when Tod Gordon was still a part of the fed) or WCW,Mistico would be on tv right now.
