What would it take for another boom period in wrestling to happen?
GODSON replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
TNA gets a "LIVE" weekly show(notice I did not say two hours) The right star at the right time. That could be anybody. For all we know, Val Venis or Bobby Roode could be the next mega star. An amazing feud with the right main eventers. Hell, for all we know the new MTV project might be a hit. You just can't tell with these things. -
Still the greatest entrance ever for a big main event match. http://youtube.com/watch?v=W5-n4WgVj8U

It was not a bad show, it just wasn't a good show. Since this is the second biggest ppv of the year, I had high standards. Nothing live up to the hype but Edge and Cena which was pretty good I think. I don't understand the Ric Flair love these past two years from the internet but this was the typical Ric Flair bloodfest. Put anybody else in the same position and people would sh!t on the match. No different from his matches with HHH.
-
TNA is not good at hiding weaknesses and his biggest problem weakness is his wrestling skills.
-
Is there any chance someone can tell me where can I get XPAC promo the night after Mania 14?
-
Don't these promotions do talent exchanges with each anyway? What's going to be different? It seem like this will only have an impact on the Puro scene. ROH and WLW is the only US companies and they already have a strong relationship with NOAH and ROH have DG also. Where is the lucha libre? Unless they have a GPWA weekly wrestling tv show, I don't think this will be a big deal.
-
The return of HBK shifted the focus off of Austin and Bret to Bret and HBK which am glad for. Austin/Bret is feud that had a natural transition instead of a blow off(which sometimes have bad endings). Most feuds have a bad or weak ending.

LOD/Ahmed vs. NOD

According to Dave Meltzer, the planned main event for TNA's "Super Bowl" PPV on 10/22 in Plymouth, MI will pit NWA World Heavyweight champion Jeff Jarrett against Sting in a title vs. career match. Interesting, this can possibly be JJ last tv match in TNA for awhile which is probably more refreshing than having Joe win the title to alot of folks. Most people say they hate TNA because of JJ. If Jarrett is gone for at least 3 months, I will be happy. Sting winning the title almost guarantee that he will drop it to either Christian or Joe. Who will Joe fight at Bound FOr Glory? Christian is the only available guy. There's no way TNA is getting a MMA star to lose. They would be better off having someone like Chris Leben or Diego Sanchez to come in and beat up Senshi or another X star. Don't see that deal happening. Joe vs. AByss is a match I would like to see. Goldberg vs.Joe is of course another huge match but Goldberg will not lose his first ppv match. Here's my predictions: Sting vs.JJ title vs.career Christian vs.Joe Rhino vs.Steiner, another match rumor to take place Sabin vs.Nash(or Shelley) vs.Senshi for the X title LAX vs.AJ/Daniels vs. Naturals James Storm vs.Chris Harris Eric Young vs. Bobby Roode Austin Starr return vs. probably Jay Lethal,Dutt or Petey That leaves out Abyss

People don't realize but the Internet and insiders magazines was in full effect in 1996 especially when it came to ECW. It just never made tv in WCW and WWE because internet fans back then did not act like "smarks" at WCW and WWE shows and try to keep it kayfabe. I still think it was a mistake for Pillman to leave WCW. He was getting a huge push with the Horsemen and the feud with Sullivan. His career and life probably would of last longer.

I think Roode will debut at BFG in 9 weeks which is close to the Canadian border and BCW fans will be in the house. I miss tonight's episode, fell asleep. Who won the UFC fight on TUF? I think TNA don't know what to do with Joe yet. Either win the title at BFG or wrestle an UFC star at BFG(Spike TV idea), they keeping all options open at the moment. I think the plan should go like this. Have Joe beat JJ at No Surrender in a non title match. Have Sting beat JJ for the WOrld title at BFG. With that being JJ last match. Have Joe beat an UFC fighter(Shamrock is the only guy I think is possible for the gig or either some guy like Chris Leben) at Bound for Glory Have Sting beat Christian at Genesis. Then have Joe beat Sting for the WOrld title at Turning Point to end the year off right.
-
Is this 14,000 people? Look close The fact that El Santo did 5 figures already in the US and will do another one in September makes him probably the international superstar to come into the US. Kobashi or KENTA or Liger cannot do numbers like these in the US. TNA cannot even do numbers like these in the US.

NWA Pro Report by Marco Nelson 2006 continues to be a landmark year for the National Wrestling Alliance as NWA Pro continues to bring you the fans great matches week in and week out! Here is just some of the great action headed your way! Sunday August 20, 2006 NWA Pro/Inoki Dojo 3200 Olympic Blvd Santa Monica, CA 90404 5:30 Belltime Bonzai & Chilango vs. Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson & Plague Last week fans at the Inoki Dojo saw the debut of a mysterious masked wrestler who teamed with CMLL Super Ligero Champion Rocky Romero to defeat the team of Karl Anderson and Australia’s Mikey Nicholls. We have learned that this enigmatic warrior wishes to be known as Bonzai and that this week he will team up with veteran luchador Chilango to take on Anderson and his new partner, the awesome Plague. Little is known about Bonzai other than that after his impressive debut, you will not want to miss what he does next! TJ Perkins vs. Mikey Nicholls Nicholls has had a rough time on his most recent trip to America. He has had his share of wins and losses and has felt that he is being overlooked and under appreciated. The frustration building up in him has lead to recent attacks on Rocky Romero and demands from Nicholls that he be given a shot at Romero’s CMLL championship. Perkins is another wrestler who believes that he is both under appreciated and overlooked. His incredible victory in the 2006 Best of the West Tournament did not launch him into the next level as he believes it should have. Perkins would also love a shot at Romero’s title and there is little chance he will stand by and allow Nicholls to use him as a stepping stone to the belt. Although not officially a number one contender’s match, it is a safe bet that the man who wins this will be facing Romero for the belt very soon! Durango & Pikachu vs. Shamu Jr & Impacto One of the brightest young stars to emerge from the Inoki Dojo Lucha classes is the yellow haired fireball known as Pikachu. Now, in his biggest match to date, this youngster gets the opportunity to team with his teacher Durango in a high profile bout against the veteran team of Shamu Jr & Impacto. Can the rookie prove that he belongs with the big boys? Can Durango maintain his hot streak since returning from Japan? Come on out and see the action! Bobby Jo Marshall vs. “Iceman” Webster Dauphiney Another Australian who has had a rough time in America is the quirky Bobby Jo Marshall. Marshall who has gone from spewing hatred in traditional skinhead gear to popping party favors in shinny gold pants has been among the most unpredictable men anywhere in the wrestling world during this crazy summer. One man that has crossed paths with nearly every variation of the Bobby Jo Marshall rainbow is “Iceman” Webster Dauphiney. The normally calm and reserved Iceman was said to be overcome with happiness at hearing the news that he was being given another shot at Marshall. You never know what to expect with Marshall, but it is safe to assume that Iceman will be wearing his stomping boots to the ring for this one! Reptil & Vertiz vs. Negro Ortega & Hikari American Balloon & Ferguson Block vs. Massive Fabuloso & Colossal Chris In the four-year history of the Inoki Dojo many young and aspiring wrestlers have had the opportunity to prove themselves inside the 20 x 20 ring. These two tag team matches define the opportunistic nature of the wrestling business, especially that which can be found in the NWA and at the Inoki Dojo. All 8 of these men are hungry to prove to the world what they bring to the table. There is no phoning in of matches or bringing anything but your best effort. Win, lose or draw we will see everything these fighters have to offer. PLUS… special announcements will be made in regards to the Friday August 25 Inoki Dojo final event! In September the daily training and operations of the Inoki Dojo will be moving north as they head to the city of Van Nuys. In a special Friday Night attraction the Inoki Dojo will close out with a bang! Stay tuned for more information! September 9, 2006 NWA Pro/Alternative Wrestling Show Frank ‘N’ Sons Arena 19649 E. I never heard the WSX story. I guess it make sense because Killings had a feud with A1 recently on Xplosion and even job to him. Joe is also wrestling in RXLL and there is talk of using more TNA stars. They want to replace AAA as "TNA's little mexican friend". EDIT: I just found out Ron Killings just signed a new deal with TNA a couple of weeks ago.
-
He drew 14,000 fans to an NWA event in Californa on July 23rd so TNA should sign him and start doing house shows in Border towns in Texas and Californa I heard those were fake numbers and the real numbers was around 4000 which is still great for a "NWA Event".
-
TNA put too much pressure on him for no reason. They was expecting too much out of him instead of using his strengths to their advantage. THey turn him every other month for no reason. TNA sabotage Brown as far as I concern. He work 12 indy shows this year,1 less than Christian but Christian gets a free pass when he's been VERY AVERAGE. Don't forget he was hurt. Sting don't do sh!t. Monty was decent enough to be a main eventer, he was not terrible and was better than Sting and Steiner. I blame TNA more than I blame him.
-
Best draw in N.America and maybe the World. SERIOUSLY Dr.Wagner Jr. One of the top draws in N.America, if you don't believe me check out his US main events and see how well those shows drew. Mistico:The future, really no excuse why this guy is NOT in TNA. Put Dutt,Devine,Eric Young,Petey,Lethal,Sabin together and they still won't equal this guy worth.
-
I remember Chris Harris being over. He was very solid and look like a future superstar. I think AMW ran their course. They won many championships together, had their defying match as a tag team already and probably the most famous TNA match ever. Main event ppvs which is very rare for tag teams these days. They was over as faces and is over as heels(Impact Zone don't cheer them). It's really nothing left, there's no territories for them to go to. Chris Harris has a bright future and him,Joe and Roode will be main eventing TNA ppvs together within the next 3 years. James Storm will make his mark in the mid card.
-
I think Goldberg/Joe don't need a typical build up, just video packages. So when these two actually see each other face to face for the first time the crowd(on ppv) will explode. Those two will have to be banned from the Impact Zone before the big match. I have no idea where TNA is going though. JJ vs.Sting vs.Joe seems highly possible but how can a person career be on the line in a triple threat? JJ vs.JOe seems possible if Joe beats JJ at No Surrender but then the proposed Sting vs.JJ career match will be off. Where do Christian fit in?
-
I remember when people thought Mike Tyson was going to fight Austin at WM14 instead of HBK. Joe vs.JJ at No Surrender is what am predicting Joe absent from the shows means they have something huge plan for him and will build him up with promos instead. He will either win at No SUrrender or Bound For Glory. Either way, he will main event BFG.
-
So, Joe doesn't get the belt at BFG I guess. Only if JJ pass the test??? I still think JJ will fail the test and face Sting at No Surrender. They have another 3 hours taping to go,so it will be a LONG 6 weeks.
-
I remember hating Norton and Ice mostly Ice smiling fat ass. I was a hardcore NWO fan at the time and Eddie Guerrero so I did not care about anybody else.
-
That saving it for ppv method never been a really big deal in TNA's case. Their buyrates will remain on the same level no matter what, mostly because people would rather see TNA put all it's focus on Impact before they start buying ppvs(sounds stupid but I can't think of anything else that will work). Most people I've talk to on the net don't buy the ppvs because they think Impact is weak, storylines, matches, characters, etc. If I was Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett, I would put on 20-30 main events every show just to get people to talking. If that means less time for other wrestlers,so be it. A Paparazzi segment,LAX segment,1 squash and 25 minute match would be enough, that will take up the whole 45 minutes.
-
Christian turn was predictable but in a good way. TNA kept it simple and straight to the point. The JJ and Sting match was a trainwreck though. Bound For Glory line up so far looks like Sting vs.Christian and JJ vs. Joe which what I predicted. They(Spike TV) need to get Goldberg in soon and try to build towards a Goldberg vs. Steiner or Brown match.
