any word on when we'll get answers back from Gangrel?
-
Not a bad idea. ..but then I wouldn't be my charming homer self. So, I'll continue to care and periodically rant about Houston teams (just not to the extent of Marvin since most Houston fans get to be pretty apathetic throughout the year)

Well, being in the middle of the pack I figured a lot of top talent would be taken leaving me with an easier decision as to who to take. My love for wanting to go defense caused me to look at a few people, but being a Houstonian and figuring he'd be one of the better QB's to build my team around (style-wise), I've chosen: Warren Moon Career Stats TD-INT 291-233 Yards 49,325 QB Rating 80.9 Career Highlights and Awards 9x Pro Bowl selection (1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997) 3x All-Pro selection (1988, 1989, 1990) 1990 NEA NFL MVP 1990 NFL Offensive Player of the Year 1990 UPI AFL-AFC Player of the Year 1989 Man of the Year 1997 Pro Bowl MVP 1982 Grey Cup MVP 1980 Grey Cup MVP 1983 CFL Most Outstanding Player 1978 Rose Bowl MVP Oilers/Titans Career Passing Yards Leader with 32,685

I care because outside of moving to Brownsville for a few years, I've been a Houstonian my entire life and proud of my city. I could care less about whatever media outlet reporter rants on Houston for the topless ads or staying in a fucking La Quinta. (They're getting paid to cover the Super Bowl, fuck 'em) I'm generally stoked when any sporting event comes to Houston even if I can't go for either money reasons or other obligations.

Well, with what seems to be my last pick..I realized I wanted another clutch shooting guard. I've got what I feel to be a clutch guy in Horry and well, I figured I'd pair him up with another clutch shooter. He's a good pick I feel for the last round and I think I've got the right team around him to keep his attitude in check. So, with my final pick I choose the man that Spike Lee feared during the 94 finals: Vernon Maxwell aka Mad Max -- Shooting Guard

alright, since KOAB is before me.. can I just make my pick like EHME did or do I need to wait on KOAB?

Meh, I'll find out more when I go back to work..but I haven't seen or read anything in our e-mails about it. I doubt there's a special pressing of disks made just for Gamestop so I'm assuming that it'll just be a code or something to input.
-
Alright, so at work (Gamestop).. we're pimping out the whole "reserve the game and get Red Hulk" as a playable character. So.. to those more up on the comic tip, what exactly is Red Hulk?

No, no one could take as many wrestler's as they wanted and group them together.. the way it was explained is that the very few / rare 3-4 man units that can be picked have to be used as a unit and you lose your next pick. So, for the whole bullshit "Well, why doesn't someone pick the nWo" talk, you can't because its not a unit but more so an alliegence of singles wrestlers.. sort of like why you can't pick the "Brothers of Destruction" as a team and as to why I couldn't pick the first group I had wanted for this pick. As far as it being logical..I've got two soild.. young teams in LonDrick and Triple X. They go with a huge star in Triple H and an under-rated (in my opinion) star in Shane Douglas.
-
So, with being told that someone was already picked ... I took the chance to work the system and select: and Ladies and Gentlemen.. I give to you professional wrestling's most dynamic team: Triple X
-
Sorry guys, I'm waiting on an answer from a PM before I make a pick..hopfully it should come before my 12 hours are up. (Also, sorry for the general perceived apathy towards the draft. Work's been a bitch lately and having to get things ready for a huge sale next week has drained a lot out of me)

Maybyner Rodney Hilario aka NenĂª -- Power Forward

Celtics in 6. I figure Kobe's good for two game-winning shots but KG and Pierce (Featuring Ray Allen) will roll through and win.

I coulda sworn I got XP from our scrimmage.. edit: just checked...it was from training.

in post season, no. in the scrimmages, yes.

the "residual bitterness" is the fact that while Houston was oh-so graciously "granted" a Super Bowl, it was because McNair pretty much paid for it in putting up the largest bid for a team in NFL history... not because we built a stadium that has seen other teams steal the basic design of since. So to see Indy get a Super Bowl because they built a stadium over a city that has already hosted and did a fine job of doing so, has me a bit miffed.

Ahh...when I checked the page (before the 2nd post) I didn't see my name so I assumed (wrongly) that my post had been missed.

Just posting again to say that I want to be in on this.

Seeing as how its a non world cup game, look for Landon to have a huge game. (/landon hate)

Since there's a run on tag teams, I figured I'd take a recent team that while they aren't high in the pantheon of tag teams, they're a good addition to what I plan to build on. So, without further adieu, I take: Paul London and Brian Kendrick (I couldn't find their tag name ... )

I want to try and get out to the Regional at Rice. Reckling's only like, a short bus ride from where I'm at. How Texas got in kinda amazes me after their let down of a season this year.. but I guess being such a prominent player in the CWS over the years gives you a pass or two. Prediction? Texas v Rice in the final. I'd like to see Rice win it, but I've got this feeling that UT will walk away the winner.

Has anyone seen Redbarron? He hasn't logged into GLB since like the 14th
