Quick comments: Fight was okay at best. I couldn't understand why Floyd wouldn't get Oscar into the middle of the ring and pound away at him since the few times he got Oscar into the middle, he'd tear him up and all Oscar would do was shell up or try to push to the ropes. I had Floyd winning by 1-2 points on the night, I don't see how Oscar got a 115-112 win. Lampley pissed me off. Granted, I'm more of an MMA fan than a boxing fan... but to hear Lampley pretty much destroy UFC/MMA as a whole after a less than stellar "saving the world of boxing" match-up turned me off of boxing and HBO. With the proposed UFC/HBO deal..the idea of Lampley calling fights for the UFC is scary.

Meh.. I've heard it referred to the EPL thru ESPN and FSX (Fox Soccer Channel) so I just call it that for short because I assume all know what the EPL is.. to those that don't know, I'll call it the Premiership. As far as us all being behind Liverpool? Yeah.. I'm not a big fan of Euro clubs and since my dreams of an all-English final are in the shitter, Liverpool is who I'm going with. What scares me is that Liverpool this year (atleast in UEFA) have been a bit of a yo-yo.. one game or leg they'll play their hearts out and thread passes together wonderfully. Other games.. they seem to sit back and then try to just loft a highball into the box in hopes Crouch or someone can get up and head it in. Against Milan.. I don't see how they can play the latter and expect to walk out victors in Athens.

So with Mayweather/De La Hoya upon us in a few days... I was wondering: Can boxing regain the popularity it once had? I mean, much like chicks dig the long ball.. guys seem to dig the Heavyweights. I've been reading up a bit on the May 5th fight and I see all these things about boxing dying a slow death after this fight. Even on here, guys debate rather or not this is going to happen.. so I figured I'd open it up to y'all. Also, if boxing unified all the "ABC" groups.. the IBC's, WBO's, WBA's and the like, would that save boxing as it'd allow people to have a single champion, rather than have multiple "champions" that might not ever face off against each other.. I don't know.. I mean with how clubs like Chelsea.. Arsenal and Liverpool are climbing up in peoples minds along with clubs like Inter Milan, FC Barca.. Real Madrid.. is it easy to say that Man U would've stayed atop that list? I mean look at the Yankees... if someone with less money.. someone opposite of a Steinbrenner... would they stay atop the world's mind? People know the Yanks because of both Steinbrenner, his money.. and the people he signs.. because of the money he has. If Ronaldo were to leave and money coming in started to dwindle to a point to where they couldn't compete with top clubs in both the EU and England, does Man U really stay atop the globally known list? As far as the link posted, it seems he (Glazer) isn't doing such a bad job.Yes, I can see how the extended debt can be seen as bad.. but with a possible Treble in the works along with the money the EPL is to bring in.. that debt can be knocked down a bit in the next few years. Watched PTI today... (or was it yesterday.. can't remember...) but they mentioned how Man U supporters thrashed a car they thought belonged to Glazer due to his hiking of the ticket prices at Old Trafford. Now I don't know how much the average ticket price for a game at Old Trafford is, but is it so much of a hike that people feel the need to blast the guy even more? I know there's been a ton of hate towards him and his family for basically, taking over Man U and hiding it from the rest of England.. but c'mon, the money he and his family are pouring into Manchester United have allowed them to keep Ronaldo for about five more years and keep hopes of future cup victories in line. I guess what I'm trying to get to is: Does the fact that he's an American outweigh the money he's spent to keep Manchester United as a globally known club?
