  1. Link?
  2. Good episode Sunday night. Reservists show up and Captain America fucks even more shit up. On to Baghdad next week, huh?
  3. Nastia got fucked over pretty bad. Seems like a reoccurring theme for the American athletes.
  4. So what's everyone think is in the boxes? Also, what does the girl with the butterfly bag represent?
  5. I just started watching it again and I forgot how great it was. I watched the last 3 episodes a couple of days ago.
  6. Indeed
  7. Awesome.
  8. Just got back from SummerSlam. Had floor seats back by the pyro. As many times as I've sat back there, I never get used to that shit. Here's a rundown real quick. Really cool set. Best set I've been to for the WWE. Dark Match Big Show vs Chavo. Big Show gets the win over chavo and when show goes to the back, chavo chases him down. Show hits chavo with a smack to the chest and walks behind the curtain casually. PPV MVP vs Hardy. Crowd seemed mostly behind MVP throughout the match with some cheering for Hardy. Santino and Beth vs Kofi and Mickey. Not a bad match, but most people really weren't into it. HBK segment. I really liked this segment and it seemed most people were paying attention and liking it. Matt Hardy over Mark Henry. Really quick match. Biggest pop came when Jeff came out. Punk over JBL. Great match minus JBL's boring holds. JBL walked right past me and it was fun to yell at him. Good to see Punk get the clean win. Punk got a WAY better reaction than the last time I saw him live (last time Smackdown was here) HHH over Kahli. HHH is over huge as normal. I counted 3 good "you can't wrestle" chants with the 2nd one being the loudest. Batista over Cena. Really good crowd reaction for both. Seemed more were behind Batista than Cena tonight. I'm so glad we got the "yay, boo" done right. Usually our crowds don't do shit. I thought the crowd was hot for pretty much the whole much. Also, I can't explain enough how amazing Batista's pyro is when you're right up next to it. Your adrenaline shoots through the roof. Taker over Edge. I had high hopes for this match and they matched and exceeded them all. Taker's entrance was awesome as usual. With the fire up top and the insane amount of smoke down below, it was really cool. Only bad part of the match was constantly having to look back and forth between the live action and the big screen/Titan Tron/ Jumbo Tron/ etc. It wasn't too much of a hassle, cause the match made it all worth it. I was hoping for an off the cell move and so was most of the crowd with the "go up top" chant. The dude next to me called the chokeslam through the ring spot, but no one saw the flames coming. It all made sense though, cause they had dudes in flame retardant suits come in before the cena and batista match. They also were taking a whole bunch of shit to the back from the ring before the Taker match. Great show overall and I definitely had a hell of a time. Also, I was glad to see the crowd was active pretty much throughout the PPV with chants, yays and boos, etc. Good change from the last PPV that was here (the infamous 'elevated liver enzymes' Great American Bash) I gotta check to see how good the crowd was on TV. How did it come across to you guys?
  9. Phelps with 8 golds. Awesome.
  10. For anyone in Indiana, this is for August 16th from 2:30 to 4:30.... Also, anyone else going to Summerslam?
  11. Serbian's mad cause Phelps styled on em.
  12. Un-fucking-believable
  13. Phelps is about to swim.
  14. Awesome.
  15. Ah. I was about to say.... Also I guess that answers what happens if someone's medal is stripped.
  16. Give 'em credit since they tried their hardest. Nastia should have won by at least a point and a half and Johnson should have been that far ahead of 3rd. If Shawn had made one more minor error she would have ended up with the bronze which is crazy. What do you mean by "Give 'em credit since they tried their hardest"
  17. Nastia Liukin got gold in women's all around and Shawn Johnson got the silver in the women's all around in gymnastics. The judges came dangerously close to fucking both of the US gymnasts out of the top 2.
  18. Man, it was hard to watch that interview with Sacramone. She looked like she was ready to completely break down at any second. The girl anchor person on the studio was 100% right about the interview and the chinchilla line was classic.
  19. I used to have one of those.
  20. I'm so pissed he pulled out mysterio's mask. I hate mysterio so much and really wanted Kane to get the mask back. The reveal was complete and utter shit.
  21. Walton Eller just won gold for the US in Men's Double Trap shooting. And yes, I was actually watching it.
  22. Played this tonight and WOW. It's a HUGE step up from last year's madden. They pretty much fixed all the problems i had with last year's madden. The only thing that took some getting used to is the new camera.
  23. Nice unexpected bronze finish for the men's gymnastic team.
  24. So, wait....... What the hell was that?
  25. I typed this up for someone who said that football was dumb and doesn't require thinking. It explains most positions on the field. Every position plays different roles. Lets take defense for example. D line trys to collapse the lanes on runs or sack the QB on passes. CB's are there to make sure the O doesnt complete pass plays. The linebackers can either drop into coverage or blitz the QB and get a sack or they can take out the RB for a loss. The safeties can either protect the long ball or they can drop into coverage or they can blitz the QB. All of these things depend on what the offense runs and the D players need to recognize the play and what they need to do to stop the offense. Now lets take a look at the offense. The QB is the leader. He gets plays in from the sidelines and either runs them or takes a look at the D and calls an audible for a more suitable play that will gain yardage. He can either pass the ball, hand it off for a run, or run it himself. All depending on the play and what he sees downfield. Now for the RB's. Their job is to either run the ball, block for the QB, receive a toss, or go out for a pass. Also depending on the play. Now for the O line. Their job is to protect the QB 1st and foremost. On pass plays they drop back and protect the QB. On run plays, they push forward and create lanes for the RB's to run through. These guys are VERY important to the offense. Just ask David Carr. Now onto the tight ends. They are usually big guys who take punishment over the middle. They can either block for the RB's or go out for passes. If they go out for passes, they usually run up the middle for a pass over the middle and take the hit for a gain. Now onto the receivers. These are the guys that catch the passes from the QB. There are MANY different routes that these guys run in order to maximize the effectiveness of a pass play. Their job is to get yardage hopefully for 1st downs and the best option of a TD. They need to be fast, tough (for those passes over the middle) and smart to avoid hits and find seams to reach the endzone. Now on to special teams. Their job is to either kick a FG, kick a kickoff, return a kickoff, punt, and return a punt. If the offense is unable to get a 1st down after 3 downs, they usually punt. A kicking team comes onto the field and punts the ball as far as they can to pin the other team as close to their own endzone as possible. Punters like to get it as close to the goal line as possible. Sometimes they "coffin corner" kick it and kick it out of bounds as close to the goal line as possible. Sometimes, if the D isnt paying attention, the offensive special teams is able to either run the ball or pass for a 1st down. The return team receives the punt and trys to take it as far downfield as possible. The punt return teams trys to create seams for the returner to run through in order to get as far as possible. For kick returns, they do much of the same. They create gaps for the returner to run through. As for the kicking team, the kicker kicks it as far as possible without kicking it out of bounds. If he kicks it out of bounds, they automatically take it up to the 40 yard line. The guys that are trying to stop the return man try to close gaps and get to the returner. The 1st guys downfield throw their bodies at the guys protecting the returner. These guys are called "Wedge Busters" because they try to disrupt the wedge that return teams may form. Watch closely because the hits that the wedge busters lay are some of the most violent you'll ever see.
