I think Gale is part of the group with Mr. Friendly (Zeke), and there really is a hot air balloon like he said. Someone mentioned it earlier in this thread that just because there would be a hot air balloon on the island, doesn't make it his necessarily. I could see something unusal that could be found that would validate any story that I came up with as a cover.

I feel like I should do an Oscar-type speech. First of all, I would like to thank that retard Scott Keith for initially setting up the site that lead to all this. You used to make sense, man! I would like to thank everyone who voted for me, actually, it was only StylesMark, and he was the only one to vote. He must have seen something in me. I won't let you down. Also, I can't forget Desperate Housewife. She's retarded as well. THANK YOU!

Nah, I don't wanna. I just don't post in this folder much at all but have been reading it a lot lately and thought I'd participate some.

One day I will be able to face the fact that I am not a contributing poster, or a poster that matters at all. -
And it is a shame if they are cut from the roster. The WWE could have had them feuding with each other and bringing them along together at a pace that had them as solid midcarders at this point. However, we have to stay in that same cycle only to bring up some new person simply because they are jacked up.

Read this on IMDB's boards about a podcast that Damon Lindelof and someone else did. Apparently, we won't have to wait weeks at a time for a new show after this break we are on!!! The (full) podcast was finally released last night about an hour before the show. Many of you have probably heard it now, but I'm posting this anyway to get this information on the board, and because I got positive feedback last time. It started with a Jorge Garcia interview (part 1). He didn't discuss the show itself. I didn't know that he used to work at Borders, though. On to the D&C Radio Hour... Yes, both "Henry Gale" and the balloon were intentional Wizard of Oz references. They discussed the sociological aspects of One of Them. Henry will be a big presence in the next few episodes. Damon thinks it would be just as interesting if in a few episodes, Henry turns out to be exactly what he says he is. That soldier was (of course) Kate's dad. The picture was actually a real picture of Evangeline at age 13. This explains why Kate looked more convincingly younger than Sayid did. Those symbols were hieroglyphics. (Obviously, but some people did deny it on this board.) The 5th one which did not appear is important. Damon says that he's one of those people who doesn't believe anything will happen after the countdown, but he will be disappointed if that is so. (In other words, yes - something will happen.) Maternity Leave was written over the Christmas break. That makes the time from writing to broadcast 2 months. Most of the questions were pretty spurious, but there were a few telling comments. Carleton said, "They're not on the island because they're nice people. They're on this island because there are things in the past of these characters which are still being worked out in the circumstance of this show." They referred to The Arrow as, "One of the Dharma storage areas." Mr Eko's visions in the monster included him "beating somebody with a rock and climbing out of water." There's just one Helen. The woman on the phone is someone that Locke got to pretend to be Helen. Finally, "Super-Radish" asked some "yes" or "no" wacky theory questions which were all refuted. This included "pole reversal". In other words, that elaborate theory that people periodically link to here. It's definitely wrong. "There are many interesting things in his theory, but they aren't part of our story" (not an exact quote) "Sorry for the reruns" In 3 or 4 weeks there will be a run of episodes up to the end of the season.

I had a dream last night about a very early theory that I had from season 1 where John Locke turns out to be Alvar Hanso. The dream was pretty forgettable, just Locke being revealed as "the guy behind it all" right before I woke up. And no, I don't entertain it as a theory in reality, because how would you explain the flashbacks and timeframe?
-
LOL! We should be a reality show, Czech. Thanks.

Well, he probably meant that it could be told in 5 seasons; but if the network told them after season 4 that they want 2-3 more years, then it would be stretched out for money over content. I doubt he meant only the first and last seasons would be necessary with everything in the middle being because they like the money it brings in.

Pretty good post for a first-timer...welcome to the boards. I didn't like the Big Show/Spirit Squad idea, but to each his own. Okay, for my take on what it will take to get the casual fan back is for TNA to go head to head with Raw (which they are not ready for); someone to come out of nowhere and become a pop culture icon; a change in style of matches; and dropping some of the stuff that turns off your casual fans. 1. TNA head to head with Raw TNA is not ready for this, but the competition would gain interest from those that missed the "anything can happen" and "what are they gonna top that with" aspect of the Monday Night Wars. If TNA catches some wind and closes the gap on WWE, I firmly believe that Spike will give them a head to head slot against WWE. This is a year or so away at the LEAST. 2. The pop culture icon The nWo, Crow Sting, Stone Cold, The Rock.....all these were insanely popular and everyone had at least heard of them. It was cool to know quotes, mannerisms, and what they did last week. If someone emerges like the names mentioned, then we are well on our way to getting that casual fan to tune in. My dark horse is Ken Kennedy. Not with the MIIIIIIIISSSTEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR....(you get the idea). Ken Kennedy has a lot of charisma and seems to have an "IT" about him in backstage skits or when he is on the mic. The Rock didn't become pop culture until he had about a year under his belt, and it wasn't until much later that he was at a peak of popularity. The one thing they cannot do when they get that new sensation, though, is what they always do. Look at Batista. He was gaining poularity by the masses by doing all the little things in skits and appearing several times throughout the show. He turns face, and all of a sudden, they hype his appearance all show, and then he comes out for the last 2-3 minutes. You have to stay with what brought their popularity on. 3. The style of matches Don't take the athletics out of it. Tell me people wouldn't kill to see Burchill C4 someone every now and then. Tell me people wouldn't want to see a WCW Cruiserweight style opener. Tell me people wouldn't love to see dragon suplexes and some more vicious moves. They don't want anyone to get hurt, yet they have the most injuries in a wrestling company than I have ever seen. Allow your wrestlers that can perform the moves safely to do them. If someone is sloppy or can't perform one good.....tell them to limit their moveset and work on getting better or flat out release them. 4. Dropping the offensive stuff I'm not talking about the Eddie Guererro angle running recently. I am talking about the dumb gimmicks, the dumb angles, and the stuff that is difficult to explain to someone who is not a wrestling fan. How will people take a show serious when they have Jillian Hall have an obviously fake mole on her face? It's not like it is amusing anyway. Here's an idea. evolve all the stupid gimmicks slowly into a character that has some depth to it. Blur the heel/face line a little bit to make it realisitic. You still have people that are bad guys, and there are people that are inherently good. But have more tweeners. A guy like Taker should fight everyone coming his way and not be a goody two shoes just because the fans cheer him. Triple H should have everyone wanting to kill him, not just the faces. And basically, everyone should be aware of everyone and interact with everyone. When storylines crossover and intersect with other storylines, then it becomes more interesting and addictive. Just more of my two cents.

You're welcome.

Please go buy some WWE stock. I bet that would help you look at them a little more objectively.

I will be watching Wrestlemania. I love wrestling and I love WWE. However, I am smart enough to call a spade a spade and say when the show is shitty. I do want Triple H to win the title at Mania, because I think Cena would be better as a heel. I want Triple H to hold the belt until ECW ONSII and drop it to RVD. Why? Because Triple H has been booked as the superman heel for the longest time and RVD would get a huge rub from that. See, it's not you and WWE against the world, toots. Other people on here enjoy the WWE as a whole, but they don't swallow every piece of shit that the WWE feeds them. Stop looking in black and white and see the shades of gray.
-
If I gave you some money from my wallet, would you go away?
-
Desperate Housewife is really Stephanie McMahon.
-
Not sure if you meant "win or retain" or just "win" the World Title at WM as a heel, but Triple H won at WM2000 to retain his belt as a heel. That was the first time it had been done.
-
I got that same belt by mailing in cereal proofs-of-purchase.
-
Way to add value to that IC title!

Okay, I haven't read all the posts, so I apologize if any or all of this has been said already. I am not only picking the matches, but the winners as well, which I feel is necessary to save this Wrestlemania. WWE Championship © John Cena vs. Triple H Cage Match---Pinfall/Submission only (Cena requests the old school blue bars) World Championship © Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio Job vs. The Streak Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker w/ Vince McMahon Vince forces Taker to wrestle Michaels. If HBK loses, he is fired. The Legend Returns Hulk Hogan vs. JBL Money in the Bank Shelton Benjamin vs. RVD vs. Chavo vs. Matt Hardy vs. Paul Burchill vs. Bobby Lashley RVD wins and uses his title shot at the ECW show. Edge vs. Mick Foley Kane vs. Big Show US Title © Chris Benoit vs. Finlay vs. William Regal Cruiserweight Title---6-Pack Elimination Match © Gregory Helms vs. Jamie Noble vs. Brian Kendrick vs. Paul London vs. Kid Kash vs. Nunzio Booker T vs. The Boogeyman Women's Title ©Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James WWE Tag Titles © MNM vs. Gymini vs. The Dicks vs. The Mexicools That is 12 matches, and you might have one of them on Heat. I think this would blow the current card out of the water if the matches turned out good.

Yes, he had a gun pointed at the boar and it was at his mercy. He could have killed it for the food. It was a well-made point that he did not kill it because he felt like he had been wrong for killing the wrong man in Sydney. Sawyer felt compassion for something he had a gun pointed at. However, the harmless tree frog, he listened to Hurley's pleas, then crushed it in his hand while joking about it. I think it was pretty deliberate to show how he has changed.
-
Read on another board where someone was getting increasingly bored with Lost as the show goes on, and cited "an animal on the island annoys Sawyer" as a retread of a story. Well, you know what the big difference was between that episode and this one? With the boar, Sawyer let it go in peace in the end. However, now that we had him go more badass and acquire all the guns, he crushed the tree frog in his hand and was sarcastic about it. THAT is what the point of Sawyer and Hurley chasing a frog was all about; to show the change in Sawyer's attitude.

Finlay does all the little things in a match that make him a good wrestler. He does his art so well that you believe in what he is doing. He has the psychology down pat, and the European style is something we haven't seen much in the last couple years. I missed the reasoning for Finlay coming back. Why did he come back to be a full-time wrestler? I assumed it was because the roster was thinning a little, and also to show some of the younger guys how to work.
