I know people are calling Ken Doane an Orton clone, but can anyone tell me about his ring work, moveset, etc?
-
That one isn't too surprising. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am from West Virginia, and there are laws against bestiality, but it is not expressly outlawed (as stated), therefore we are on the list. What is the statute of limitations, you ask? It is legal if the animal is over a certain weight, which I have heard many varying weights on the subject. Either way, it should be outlawed with no limits, just like it should be in every state.

When the British Bulldog and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart teamed in WCW, they were called the "Old Age Inlaws" by several people. Maybe they could run a storyline where Kip marries BG's sister.

I would guess Striker is at the least being considered for a contract and sent to development at OVW or Deep South, and at the greatest has already been signed for one of those territories.

Two things: 1) She made it sound like she was an important part of the WWE family and was no longer going to be there. I hoped she got voted off first with her lame "I'm trying very hard to look cool by dumping beer on myself" that failed so miserably. 2) I doubt Big Dave got super pissed and snarled when she was voted off. Stop being a mark for yourself, Leilene.

Edge's "rise to the top": Kane, Hardy, Lita, etc..
Dandy replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
Very good points with the Elizabeth feuds, Downhome. Both of those were executed extremely well, and should be the prototype of how to include women in a feud without making it stupid, or overwhelming the matches. -
That's a hell of a point you make, Zyn.

There would have been an infinite number of injuries less than the way it turned out.

Playing devil's advocate........ Hardy said he would make WWE regret what they did to him. What did they do? They released him. Who else did they release? Shannon Moore, one of his good friends, and former partner on TV. Who could they get to help them? Well, all three Dudleyz were released. Spike gave a "srew the WWE" post online, D'Von said he likely won't ever change his mind about wanting to comment on how the WWE released him. Know who else is big, strong and got released by WWE? Matt Morgan. Hardy could contact them for help, but his main goal is to get at Edge. He just needs some help considering he isn't part of WWE. Again, just saying it is possible to be explained.

Looks like Kane was segued over to Snitsky by the recent bookings.
-
I got $10 saying he powerbombs him... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Put down another $10 saying he'll land a suicide dive on him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've got $2 that says he will hiptoss him!!!
-
He still reports back to WWE, though. That is what I'm saying. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If he doesn't have a contract, he doesn't report to them. End of story. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought it was reported around the time Foley was feuding with Somoa Joe that Foley was reporting on some of the talent to Vince. I also think he is under contract, but if he is not, I see both your and Bob's points.
-

-
Well, just saying *if*, but if the release was fabricated, they could hypothetically take bookings for ROH while they are still under WWE contract. I actually don't believe it, but with a hint of possibility, I think it's fun to discuss it.
-
Foley isn't under contract with WWE. He can do whatever he wants. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But he is still listed on their Raw superstars page, makes the occasional appearance, and reports the progress/talent of the ROH guys to Vince and Co. He is more than likely still on the payroll in some capacity.
-
I tend to agree to that , Bob, but with the recent direction of the company in some aspects, and the post-release interviews, there is a possibility, however slight that may be. Most, if not all, are still getting paid by the WWE for their 90 day clause. They could however, have not been released, take some bookings with ROH, and it would be eerily similar to Hardy's situation, even though he was legitimately released.
-
Well, I think the relationship is strictly this: WWE: We know that you have a loyal following and some very talented wrestlers that we are interested in. We have no problem with letting Foley appear and do some major angles for you, and we would in return like to give your guys some tryouts matches here and there. Feel free to mention us as the bad guys in some of your angles. ROH: We know that if some of our wrestlers were to get signed by you, it would be a huge step for them financially and successfully as you are considered to be the pinnacle of wrestling promotions, especially right now. We can have a mutual friendship, because our goal isn't to become mainstream and oppose you.
-
I hate to shoot this down, but no way, no how. ROH isn't nearly big enough for it to make sense to the fans. I'd bet that maybe 3% of the audience even knows what ROH is, so no way WWE puts ROH guys out there to the sounds of crickets chirping and angles falling on their faces. WWE should just avoid any kind of Invasion/cross promotion type angles because they have shown they just flat out don't know how to do them correctly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. What I was thinking was related to the speculation that some of the releases might be worked. *If* a few of them *signed* with ROH, who is somewhat working with WWE right now, and WWE is/was interested in some of their wrestlers, it *could* happen. I was thinking that Hardy, a few of the wrestlers released (Dudleys, Haas, Morgan, Moore), and the wrestlers from ROH that the WWE are already interested in showed up on WWE programming. Not to take over, just to show up and have feuds, and they could eventually become part of WWE again/for the first time.
-
That is what I was saying. I actually don't think it will turn into "ECW" either, but I just said that because when the releases were going down, that was speculated heavily on here. The only reason I thought of that angle with some wrestlers that were released getting inspired by Matt was WWE's new direction on their website and angles, like you stated. If anything, this *could* lead to a ROH quasi-invasion.
-
Well, it said "this post," which led me to believe you were referencing what you quoted, which was my post. I use the "in a completely unrelated topic" line as sarcasm daily, and took it as that. I'm aware of the "Bret Hart is coming back to lead the invasion" line. I was an avid reader of scoopthis.com, and I have posted here since Scott Keith had the site that led to the forums. No hard feelings, but please clarify a little in the future so I don't get so worked up.
-
Let me be the first to say it ... Bret Hart is going to lead the invasion. And - in a completely unrelated note - the level of 'smart' in smartmarks is pretty damn low in this post. Guys, I understand wanting it to be real ... but it's not. It's a work, 100%. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sorry, maybe you didn't see where I said "since we are throwing out *what if's.*" If you read my posts in this thread, you will see that I am almost 100% sure that everything is a work. EVERYTHING from last night. The punches, what he said, EVERYTHING. There are several people on here that have posted more ridiculous things about this angle and you picked out the post where I came up with a fantasy angle? Is it impossible to believe that during their releases, WWE announced a couple of releases that they didn't actually plan on releasing? It is very, very improbable, but not impossible. Everyone else was posting all these different conspiracy theories that are far-fetched, and I was helping debunk a lot of them, or discuss a lot of them. I also threw out a far-fetched conspiracy theory myself for fun. I'm sorry that you feel you must label me as dumb, but I fail to see how contributing an idea that would be a nice ripple effect from this one is not "smart." I will run everything by you and a few others before making any further posts so I won't take the "smart" out of smartmarks.

But we are dealing with an entirely different situation than normal here. This would be Hardy's first day of a contract since he collected his 90 days up until yesterday. If they allowed him to remain part of the roster, they couldn't keep him from going to the shows and all that. He could breech his contract or say that the WWE breached it. All in all, ANY wrestler still under contract could show up on the TNA PPV this Sunday. There would be consequences and repercussions, but ANY SINGLE WRESTLER could show up.
-
You can waive your 90 day no compete clause. That is just to ensure you get paid over the next 90 days. I believe Raven waived his so he could go straight to TNA. Again, just discussing.
-
RedJed, I wasn't saying that Hardy really got arrested at all. I was answering a "what if" on how he was able to post on his website if he was arrested. I am almost 100% positive that EVERYTHING on the show tonight was scripted, but I like to discuss and think about all these "what if" scenarios. That is why this was such a great segment/angle.
-
I would say that the main reason TNA doesn't make an official statement is the possibility that this would mean several more PPV buys from this whole situation. I fully expect that a few dozen or more people will buy the PPV to see Hardy show up. How many of his fans do you think will buy the PPV due to them thinking it will be Matt's debut and that he will "shoot" on the WWE?
