That was not the last good tag team.

You have to have a constant when you start jumping back and forth through time. It wasn't said that you have to have the constant at all times from there on out to survive. At least, I don't remember them saying that.

To be fair, the show keeps bringing up the polar bears. The theory that they could have been trained to turn the wheel, or at least stationed down there) is very interesting considering Charlotte finding that one in Tunisia.

    LOST

The funeral director not knowing who Locke really was had no bearing whatsoever on what I was talking about. I said that he would question who this nobody was, that two survivors of Oceanic 815 came to his funeral and they were the only two. Or perhaps there would have been more than two. I am thinking as Kate here: If I go to his funeral, and the other survivors are there, how would that compromise our story and thus, my life. I didn't say this is what happened, RedJed, I just said that was an avenue that I was thinking to explain why she said "Why would I" go to his funeral." It is likely that something did happen where Locke left the island and pissed Kate off, but this is no less likely. These 6 people are very recognizable, I would say, and considering that Jack was the only one to show up to the guy's funeral, it would have been highly suspect if the only others to show were also 815 survivors. How is that hard to believe?

While I agree that 3 years would be a long enough time to cool people's perceptions of these survivors being celebrities, it isn't necessarily the case. In the season 3 finale, Jack was acknowledged as famous or a savior or something by a guy behind him in line at the pharmacy, roughly the same time frame as he went to the funeral. I imagine that there were books written, and perhaps a movie made, and it is not out of the realm to think that 3 years later would be around the time that such things would be published or produced. These 6 people were given a group name, got massive payouts from Oceanic, and had a lot of publicity. I am willing to bet that they are still recognizable, and people would at least talk about two of them showing up for a funeral that no one else went to. That funeral director would have sold the story to the tabloids in a heartbeat.

I thought that when she said "why would I" go to the funeral, she meant that why would a famous person go to a funeral for someone that no one knew? Jack went, and if she were there as well, it could get people talking about who exactly this person was. They were celebrities, and even though paparazzi were not following them around, you have to believe that the funeral director would have told someone, then word would have gotten out. They have to keep their story up for the public, and I would say that going to the funeral of someone that wasn't supposed to have made it off the plane (alias or not) could jeopardize that plan.

I love that guy. I always think of him in Seinfeld, Groundhog Day, and Memento.

I figured Magnum would have gone earlier. There is still a couple of picks that I can not believe are still available!

    Gas Price Check...

If I am not mistaken, gas is full service everywhere in the state of NJ. State law, maybe? Seems like I remember hearing that from a former coworker from Jersey.

    WWE Raw (5/26/2008)

They do not directly make money off the ad revenue, but when it comes time to negotiate with USA, their ratings are the biggest factor. Increasing ratings means more ad revenue (for USA, who is probably chipping in on the money), which means more leverage for a better TV contract. If WWE does not improve their ratings, they lose dollars off the fans that are not tuning in, but will either be out of a deal with USA or get a much worse deal than they have now.

    WWE Raw (5/26/2008)

I believe the ratings decline during May sweeps is what lead to this, though.

    WWE Raw (5/26/2008)

Just to further elaborate on why I think it is a good idea: -In the best possible scenario, millions of people will start tuning in for the chance of winning $1,000,000. If the ratings were to go to say...7.0 or so (high number, I know, but it's a free $1,000,000!!!) they can charge a lot more for advertisements. They can have sponsors for each show in a more promonent manner. They will also have pretty much doubled their audience and might be able to gain some loyal viewers. -They might make money off the viewers this adds. Most companies have things broken down in raw numbers. Let's say that WWE knows the average fan gives them $200 each year through merchandise, live events, PPV buys, etc. We covered what their viewership brings to the table, but this is actual dollars they spend with WWE. If they bring in a few million additional viewers and some of them become fans that spend money, they just made a lot of return on that investment. -Vince did not say how long he would be doing this. He didn't say every week for an entire year or anything, just every week. He can end it at any time. If he does it for a month or two and the ratings do not increase substantially, it will most likely end. If it works, it will continue. -At the worst, I see WWE spending $8,000,000 trying to double their audience for a period of time. What would you pay a marketing company for that? It's a good risk vs. reward plan, and I am willing to bet that it works if they do the "be caller number 12" thing.

    WWE Raw (5/26/2008)

I doubt that McMahon and the WWE want to bait and switch viewers out of a potential $1,000,000 each week at this point. They want the ratings to go up.

    WWE Raw (5/26/2008)

They may have something here. If it involves having to tune in to be the correct numbered caller when they give the signal, then ratings would surely go up. You are going to have a chance to win $1,000,000 every Monday night just for watching 2 hours and 5 minutes of television? Damn straight people will watch! For McMahon and USA, this is a pretty good move. The increased money from ad revenue and possible increases in fans, merchandise sales, PPV buys, etc., should be substantial.
