http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...imageID=1027308 This is one of the pictures that Themisfitishere used as pictures of himself. He was a jokester on the IMDB Lost boards, and most people thought he was being serious when he was goofing around the whole time. He would post ridiculous theories coming from pictures on the show that would obviously be purely circumstancial. It was quite funny to see people's reactions to him. There were even a few on this board that reported his theories over here, not knowing the guy was doing it to get a rise out of people. Be sure to check out all of the pictures of this guy the Misfit said was him. He claimed his name was Mike Rotch (my crotch). Edit---For some reason, the picture won't show so I just provided the link.

I have always considered the time off due to the lockout in 1994 was what prompted the huge outburst of steroid use in the majors. I am not disputing use and abuse before that time, but a lot of players came back much bigger and started putting up much bigger numbers after they came back. With that theory, Bonds may not have passed Aaron by now, Marv. Edit---To clarify, I'm not suggesting that Bonds' numbers immediately spiked up after returning or that he started using steroids at that time. However, I believe that steroids became more widespread during that time, and Bonds eventually started using so he could catch back up to those who had passed him because of the juice.

Perhaps I ask too much out of speedy players like Delino DeShields, but to me a table-setter should be on base at LEAST 40% of the time. A .400 OBP is not out of the question by any means, and I feel that a table-setter should have that as the norm. The reason he did not get to that point is because he struck out way more than he walked. BB SO BA OBP 1990 66 96 .289 .375 1991 95 151 .238 .347 1992 54 108 .292 .359 1993 72 64 .295 .389 He did very well in 1993, as he cut his strikeouts down considerably. By that point, however, he had missed quite a few games, had never had an OBP of .400, and had struck out way more than he had walked. To me, you don't give up a promising young pitcher (Pedro and little brother Jesus were both considered to be better than big brother Ramon) for a speedy guy that can't put it all together. If you are hitting close to .300, you should definitely have an OBP over .400.

His stats weren't THAT impressive. His OBP was below where it should have been, he struck out a lot, and could have walked more. His 40-50 steals look impressive now because steals are rarer these days, but he should have stolen more bases. Had he been on base more, his steals and runs would have been better and then I would agree with you.

What if Ted Williams had not lost years of play to the military?

What if Len Bias didn't die after the draft?

He had a full beard thing going on for the Benoit show, but it looked like he had lost some weight in his face, chin, and neck. Hard to say for sure, but from that small glimpse I imagined he was very cut again.

Through 2000, Griffey had hit 439 home runs; 1,270 RBI's; and 1,883 hits. Divided by those 12 seasons (counting the strike as a full season), he averaged 37 homers, 106 RBI, and 157 hits. Keeping up his average production over the next 6 years, he would be at the following stats entering this season: 661 homers, 1,906 RBI, and 2,825 hits. Here is a look at it from another way. Griffey played in 81% of the games (1,580/1,894) from his debut with Seattle in 1989 to 2000 with the Reds. He missed the majority of those games in 1995 when he broke his wrist, and his rookie year when he also had an injury later in the season. His average per game breaks down as follows: 0.2778 homers/game played 0.8038 RBI/game played 1.192 hits/game played If he had played in 81% of the games over the next 6 years (787/972 games), his stats would be the following entering this season: 656 homers, 1,903 RBI, and 2,821 hits. I think it is safe to say he would have been right around 660 homers, 1,900 RBI, and over 2,800 hits. His stats in those categories so far this year are 22, 57, 81. At the start of next year, he would have been closing in on 700 homers, 2,000 RBI, and 3,000 hits.

Sorry I didn't see this thread before, as I might have been able to get a cheaper flight for you. My friend and neighbor has his own website for all travel and accomodations (http://www.cccvacations.com), and you can use that site as a one stop shop. Typically, you save a little from sites such as orbitz, travelocity, etc. Edit---Just ran a search on the page and the best it came up with was $1,377.00.

Wait until these guys start dropping dead 15 years from now, and the media will be calling for the organizers' heads.

I think Lashley would be a better heel than a face, actually. I thought he should have been the one behind the limo explosion, personally. He could have been "putting on a face" for the fans so he would be popular, but really be a hardened person from the military that can't cut off that "at whatever cost" attitude that he developed in the army. He could have a manager, and be a heel that takes out challengers for a price. If a heel won the title, Lashley could be the man that has a job of eliminating the competition. Of course, this is what he should have been doing over the past year, so it would be harder to have him as this character right now.

I would like to see my buddy get in this. I don't think there is any way he could beat those two right now, but he'd probably get top 5. He owns every eating contest record around here, and a bunch of other records in the state. He was in a hotdog contest here a couple years back and he quit eating after 3 minutes in a 10 minute contest because no one could come close.

I was going to post the same thing.

I'm watching it. I wish they would televise clips of each competitor's specialty or world record. I would love to watch the jalapeno contest, and they just said Bertoletti ate 15.5 lbs of strawberry shortcake in 8 minutes.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Dandy replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
I would say that the majority of the drugs were carried with them when they were on the road, and not when they were flying. Speculation on ways around that would be mailing it to themselves if they had to fly (wouldn't work in every case); paying a production truck driver to stash it in the back as they travel to the other shows; or mailing it back home. They know weeks and sometimes months in advance where they will be going. If they have to fly, they can think of ways around it. Perhaps they simply didn't take it with them at all when they would be flying. -

Will the media report this as the possible reason, or will they continue to focus on steroids because it is a hot button? I vote steroids. -

Okay, I was being a dick when you asked it the first time, but here is a serious question for you: Do you honestly think, in retrospect, that anyone would be able to pick out a mannerism or anything from his last televised wrestling match that would foreshadow the killing of his wife and child, and eventually his suicide? Can't wait to hear your answer. -

Yes, we all did. That is why this whole thing was not a shock to anyone. You could tell when he went for the suplex that he had this facial tic. Right away, I knew he was going to kill his family. -

And did no one read the post about the life insurance that I made? It was never reported that he removed Nancy and/or Daniel from his life insurance policy. It said he took out a new policy, and named his ex-wife and their children as the beneficiary of that policy. -

I meant to post something about the long amounts of time on the road that they spend together, so it's not like I didn't think of that. However, it still applies; Benoit had "friends" in the WWE that he got along with. He did not have any TRUE friends besides Eddie, apparently. I imagine that he could have had more true friends, but he didn't let them in. -

The way I look at that is that co-workers do not equal REAL friends automatically. I have a bunch of people at work that I am friends with. I also do not involve them with my personal stuff, nor do they with me. Too many people misunderstand acquaintances, friends, and true friends. Benoit was respected by his co-workers, they got along great, soent a lot of time together, etc. They were not REAL friends as he didn't open up to them as he did a very select few, or possibly just Eddie. -

I do life insurance for a living and can confirm that the suicide clause is a period of two years. After the two year anniversary of a policy, the beneficiaries can collect even on suicide. Meltzer said he took out a "new" policy "recently." He did not say that he changed his old policy, but took a new one out. To me, that could mean that he was contemplating something like this somewhere in his mind, but it could mean other things as well. Consider this: if you were a high-income individual with two families (i.e. an ex-spouse and children, plus your new spouse and children), and you have your current family covered in case of your death, would you consider getting additional life insurance for your ex and your children's needs? I deal with this sort of thing daily, and that was the first thing that crossed my mind. When you consider minors with your previous wife, they are most likely getting child support. What happens to that when you pass away? Who will get your social security benefit until the children are 18? Would it be the children from the previous marriage? The child from the current marriage? Replacing income is something you have to think about, because you are talking about an infinite amount of time. If both families rely heavily on your income in some form or another, then it would make the most sense to have both families as beneficiaries of different policies. The word "recently" could mean the past few weeks, sometime this past year, or within the last few years. With the details we have now, we might think it sounds fishy, but their could be a very legitimate reason that a new policy was taken out. These are the kinds of things I try to educate people on daily. -
He could defend it every PPV and it would get him around the 30 day rule. They could go through a complex angle that he is hurt badly and "will he even be able to defend his title at the PPV???" Or, they could simply acknowledge that he is currently filming a movie and he will keep his obligation of defending it every 30 days. Personally, I think it would be a good heel-turn to have him tell Coach or Vince that he won't be around much because he is going to film the movie. They will know about it, of course, considering it is a WWE Films project, but they were under the impression that he was going to keep his commitments to TV. He could say that he doesn't really care about the TV show because of the money he is banking with the movie. He can blow off his PPV match as "no big deal" and he will just beat whoever it is that they line up for him. "See you in a month or so." After that, when he comes back, that would be a tremendous time to have him show some different character, a new outfit, theme music, etc. He would be fresh, both in the aspects of the character he is portraying, and the fact that he hadn't been on TV in a month. Do it, WWE. DO it.
