Delhomme's got a sprained thumb or something. He's listed as questionable for this week.

I set fire to the tapes of game 6 & 7 of that series I had a couple of years back. Very therapeutic.

GIVE ME BACK MY SON!!!!!!!

Because of House's constant pill popping. He arrested House on DUI & possession charges after pulling him over and then added intent to distribute to it after raiding House's home and finding about 600 Vicodin. He also discovered that House forged Wilson's name to obtain prescriptions.

This next week around here should be fun since all the Astro fans will be flipping out and suddenly hating Pettitte. Couple that with the possibility of Vince Young beating the Texans and sports talk could be a whole lot of fun. The question now is when does Clemens make his Yankees debut? May? June?

Well...Meche will be 28 on Opening Day, which puts him on the cusp of his prime. ... Yeah, that's all I got.

I am overjoyed at the thought of the Astros putting Jason Lane out in centerfield on a regular basis next season!

How has Sean Shannon not killed himself yet?

Will be driving home from Dallas (the final leg of a long, winding road trip through Texas that weekend) and then probably be asleep before midnight even rolls around. It's just as well, since the fiancee will be in Missouri with her family.

Atascocita, TX About 36,000 people according to the 2000 census. It's probably at least a few thousand more now. We are part of the 5.2 million stated in viva's post about metro Houston above. I like it mostly because we are 78% white up here. Oh, and because of no city taxes either.

Potential AFC championship preview? Hmmm... I wish. Unfortunately, I flame out in the second round every year.

11/27: No Hurricanes, But Still Plenty Of Hot Air
sfaJack commented on kkktookmybabyaway's blog entry in KK's Korner
If you think that article bemoaning the lack of hurricanes is something, you should have watched any one of the local newscasts here over the summer. Jesus, you'd think that all the weatherpersons (OMG POLITICAL CORRECTNESS~) had just been dumped by the love of their lives or something by the way they openly mourned the lack of hurricanes to overhype. That still did not stop them from displaying the "Hurricane Preparedness" graphic at least twice a week reminding us all to make sure we all had enough water, batteries, canned goods, and ammunition to protect ourselves from the packs of starving, negelected people sure to be forgotten by George W. Bush in the wake of the massive devastation. -
Marvin nailed it. The change to Sunday night is a big problem because it makes driving 3 1/2 hours back to Houston after the game a really daunting task, given that there is a 99% chance I'm gonna have to be at work @ 6:30 Monday morning. And by "be at work" I mean "can't take the day off." FUCK! Flex scheduling is so stupid. I know I sure appreciated that scintillating Eagles/Colts game last night! Who (besides alf) didn't love that???
-
Stupid "flex scheduling." What a pain in the ass.
-
Maybe somebody forgot to tell the schedule-maker that John Elway quit 8 years ago.

Yeah, part of Alaska get NO-Cincy, yet the rest of it gets GB-NE? Minnesota-Miami in a little corner of Montana?
-
Have the Bucs been part of any game that could be considered "good" recently? Even the Super Bowl they won blew.
-
Somebody remind me again why we're supposed to sympathize with the poor underdog Sox' plight of being trapped in the same division as the big meanie Yankees. In other news, it is being said that the Astros don't have much interest in bringing Aubrey Huff back.

Yeah, and fuck the Revolution for that. Now I'll have to hear about the goddamn Dynamo for the next several months and what a fantastic boost for soccer it is/will be for this city. Yea. On the bright side, the Dynamo will probably be just like the Comets--as soon as they DON'T win the MLS Cup, the few people that care about them a little bit will stop, the team will fade into the oblivion of Houston's sports conscience, and then probably cry poverty and move within 5 years.

11/10: There Goes The Neighborhood

Just out of curiosity, do you belong to a homeowners' association? -
Ahem. Teke isn't the division leader.

7-1! And the race for "home field" begins...

Romomania isn't dead. I think this loss is on Parcells. If he hadn't completely lost his mind and gone for two IN THE FIRST QUARTER of a (then) 6-5 game, the Cowboys would have won. Just terrible.
