Before we start bemoaning for the poor, poor Eagles, did anyone notice that the Cowboys play three straight road games at one point as well? As does Houston. And Miami. And the Bears. So that scheduling isn't that uncommon this season for some reason. The NFL isn't trying to purposely screw the Eagles over.

Good Lord that IS brutal. Hopefully it knocks them right out of contention.

Rumors of TO's return to Philly on Christmas Day are false. That game will be in Big D on that day. Ho ho ho...

I think you're reaching dude.

Trade him to the Dodgers for Nomar.

He's already said that he's not playing for anybody until at least June 1.

That's why I don't get what the big fuss is over this. If he's really going to be back for only one more season, then what how does it affect the Packers' draft and personnel decisions this year? To me, it's simple: if they think Aaron Rodgers can play, they don't draft/acquire a QB and either let Rodgers play this year (if Favre isn't back) or turn it over to him in 2007 (if Favre is back). If they DON'T think Rodgers is the guy to lead them in the future, then you get a QB now. If Favre is back, then the new guy sits a year and waits. If he's not back, you either let the rookie play of keep Rodgers for a year or so until the rookie is ready. Either way, Brett's stalling on his decision is absurd.

Tell me about it. Getting older (all of 27 years now) has changed me as well and being fiscally responsible has become my number two concern (just behind taking care of my health). But I didn't realize just how "old" I'm getting until this last week when our annual performance evaluation rolled around at the office and I was given a promotion. The nice boost in pay that came along with it, that normally would burn a hole in my pocket, went straight to my 401k. I won't see that cash for at least 40 years...and all because my first thought was "gotta save, gotta save, gotta save". Being old really sucks in some ways, even when you know it's the right thing to do.

I think the question is who is more hated within the ballpark at that moment, Bush or Selig, not in a nationwide poll. Good to see Zambrano has apparently settled down, though I'm bothered by the fact that Tony Womack has reached base against him twice so far!

College Hoops: National Semifinals and The Championship Game

Well I don't know if Romar actually would leave, but I certainly think it's worth talking to him. Maybe try Tubby Smith as well, if the rumblings of him being unhappy at UK are true. He's coached in the state of Oklahoma before, too. -

I'd go after Lorenzo Romar if it were up to me. As for the FF, I'm going with a LSU/Florida final, with Florida coming out on top. No real reason for this pick. -
Texans aren't giving up on Carr any time soon with the money they just committed to him this offseason. And certainly not as long as Casserly is still working for them--Carr is his guy. That's why they're not drafting Vince, much to everybody's chagrin here. The Texans line should be better this year. That isn't saying much, of course, but signing Flanagan allows them to move McKinney to his natural guard spot and get rid of Milford Brown's useless ass. Bush will help the Texans regardless of whatever else happens simply because he's a playmaker and that is something that haven't had too much of in their existence. Some of the 20-yard runs Domanick Davis gets caught from behind on will turn into touchdowns with Bush.

Damn, I would have bet money that Cowboys/Redskins would be on turkey day.
-
Texans and Bills talking about an Eric Moulds trade. N.D. Kalu signs with Texans. 1 yr/$750k.
-
Jeff Bagwell is headed for the disabled list to start the season and it's almost certain he won't ever come off of it.

Ah yes, the Ragone pick. I never got the logic in using a third rounder on a guy you hope never has to play for you. I still don't know what kind of rock Jerry was smoking when he traded for Henson though. Another genius move on his part.
-
No way I'd trust Casserly with a second OR third round pick so you might as well make that trade.

How about Reddick to the Rockets? They're in desperate need of a good shooter to score when McGrady and/or Yao get collapsed on. He's certainly no worse than what they currently have.

Sweet! The best part (for me anyway) is that a Duke-loving coworker of mine now owes me lunch tomorrow. I'm thinking steak with ALL the trimmings...

There was still one in New Braunfels last summer so I'd say yes.

There is one. It's a Class C misdemeanor to have an open container in a "passenger area" of a vehicle on any public street, regardless if it's in motion, stopped, or parked. All persons in the vehicle can be ticketed but cannot be arrested if they make a written promise to appear in court by signing the ticket and notice to appear presented by the officer at the scene.

3/22: Keeping/Losing Your Head In A Situation

I don't think so. Two teachers in my high school openly dated and ended up getting married. It's probably against the rules for an administrator and a teacher to date...but that's true of any work environment. My geometry/trig teacher was pretty hot. Unfortunately, she was also my baseball coach's wife. I didn't have any other hot teachers/profs until college. There I had one finance prof I wanted to fuck pretty badly, a softball coach (who I had for a PE course) that was damned fine, and the slutty-dressing TA from one of my frosh history courses was really hot. -
What the hell happened to the Cowboys in the Vinatieri sweepstakes? They were supposed to be one of the players in the market for him and...nothing. Not even one of the finalists for him. Given, they would have had to overpay for him but a good kicker last season would have resulted in at least an 11-5 record. So it might have been worth it.
