WWE Notes: Orton, SD! Rating, Mexico Show, More
ISportsFan replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
The show also has Christian v. Chris Jericho. Jason -
Dave Meltzer, for as crappy everyone thinks his "inflated" star ratings are, knows wrestling inside and out, and knows what to do when to do it to make stars. He knows when people are on the rise, when they're falling, and when someone just got made a star (or, conversely, when someone like Jeff Hardy is immediately buried and will never be a star again). He would be on my committee as a consultant; someone who doesn't write the storylines, but someone who will tell the bookers when something would not work or something that needed to be done right away. I would put Jim Cornette and Bret Hart on the Raw brand, with Tommy Dreamer and Arn Anderson giving ideas. Paul Heyman and Mick Foley would run the Smackdown brand, with Raven and Dean Malenko underneath with creative ideas. And, of course, I would review the scripts before they went final. Not that I know wrestling better than any of these guys, but it is my fantasy world. Jason

Same ones as everyone else, really, because all these fit so well. The first one that came to mind was Click Click Boom for No Mercy 2001. The video for Jericho and Rock was just mind-blowingly awesome, and that song fit perfectly. Of course, WrestleMania X-7's My Way with Austin and Rock. Cocky at the Rumble 2002 for Rock and Jericho again, they got some good video packages. Survivor Series 2002 (Always), SummerSlam 1998 (Highway to Hell), Survivor Series 1998 (Deadly Game) are really good. Jason

Ask Billy Kidman. Jason

Did you just use the word "good" when talking about a 15-20 minute Bradshaw match? Jason

She went to Naperville Central High School in Naperville (obviously), and dunked in a high school game for the first time at the Dundee-Crown Holiday Tournament her sophomore year. Jason
-
Which match are we talking about here? (I didn't watch much of the crap that was the WWE/F/ NWO angle) You were thinking of No Way Out 2002 and the nWo storyline. This was No Way Out 2003. Kurt and Team Angle v. Benoit/Lesnar/Edge. Edge had neck surgery, so they wrote him out of the match with an injury storyline. Why they didn't put Eddie, Rhyno, or even Funaki in there totally boggles my mind. Jason

Everything in 1998 outside the main event totally sucked in the ring. Mostly storyline wise too. 1999 everything sucked. 2000 everything ruled until SummerSlam. Jason

Remember when Test had to wear the nose-protector?
ISportsFan replied to a topic in General Wrestling
If HHH faced Test instead of Vince at Armageddon 1999, it could have been possible. But, he became Vince's lackey and it was all downhill from there for him. Jason -
I didn't see the thread, and I don't really have any intention to, but should fluff that is considered such by moderators possibly be moved from CE to GC instead of just being deleted? Jason

You should have used the opening match from the 93 and 94 survivor series instead of the ones you used after number 18. The opening match from 1994 is the one I used at #17, and 1993 you're right on. Jason

That's a great way to devalue your titles. Give the loser a belt for the heck of it. Jason

1. Austin v. Hart (1996) 2. Hart v. Diesel (1995) 3. Hart v. Backlund (1994) 4. Ten team elimination match (1987) 5. Hart v. Michaels (1992) 6. Heavenly Bodies v. Rock and Roll Express (1993) 7. Sid v. Michaels (1996) 8. Team WWF v. Team Alliance (2001) 9. Team Austin v. Team Bischoff (2003) 10. Team Flair v. Team Piper (1991) 11. Owen/Bulldog/Janetty/Cassidy v. Godwinns/Furnas/LaFon (1996) 12. Kai/Sherri/Martin/Marie/Christanello v. Angels/McIntyre/Robin/Moolah (1987) 13. Savage/Perfect v. Flair/Ramon (1992) 14. Los Guerreros v. Benoit/Angle v. Edge/Mysterio (2002) 15. Janetty/Hakushi/Horowitz/Holly v. 1-2-3 Kid/Skip/Radford/Pritchard (1995) 16. Austin v. Mankind (1998) 17. Ramon/1-2-3 Kid/Bulldog/Headshrinkers vs. Michaels/Diesel/Owen/Niedhart/Jarrett (1994) 18. Ten team elimination match (1988) 19. UT v. Mankind (1996) 20. Hart v. Michaels (1997) 21. Blackman/Mero/Vader/Goldust v. Bulldog/Neidhart/Furnas/LaFon (1997) 22. Elimination Chamber (2002) 23. Rock v. Rikishi (2000) 24. Women's elimination match (1995) 25. Team Angle v. Team Lesnar (2003) Wow, I noticed two things. 1) Bret Hart is King of all Survivor Series. Without him, who knows how sucky half of these shows would be. 2) After #18, the quality of matches fell dramatically and it was a matter of searching through databases to try and fill the rest of the list. When I can't remember a match off the top of my head, it isn't that good. Jason

I don't know about other people, but I am really loving this. It's a whole lot of fun and a unique concept. Now, the Raw-style overrun on the last episode... Not that I care, I always liked longer matches if they're going to be good. Jason

Because 2 face-1 heel triple threat matches (aka the main event) normally portray the faces as weak (like Benoit-Jericho-Austin from KOTR 2001). Jason

"Healer." I believe it's Greek. Jason

Remember SummerSlam 2002 when Benoit worked the arm like a mofo? Yeah, RVD didn't sell that either. Jason

That's because the Tribune Co. has brainwashed everyone in the Chicgao area to be Cubs fans. That, and the WGN TV deal they had for so many years. Jason

WrestleMania XVI (2000): Triple Threat with Jericho and Angle WrestleMania XVII: Singles with Angle WrestleMania XIX: Triple Threat tag with Rhyno against Team Angle and Guerreros WrestleMania XX: Triple Threat with HHH and Michaels 3 out of 4 WrestleManias he's had triple threat matches. How does someone get such bad luck? Jason EDIT: Maybe not bad luck, per se, but it's interesting and for sure not exactly something someone wants I'm sure.

See: Muppets 4D. Anyway, I too want to see more Muppet Babies. I want more Muppet Babies too. But, at Walt Disney World, it went back to Muppets 3D. So it has gone full circle -- 3D to 4D and now back to 3D. Jason

Workers used better by WCW than by Vince McMahon..

I also thought Dean Douglas was a brilliant character. Jason -
Get the DVD. It's $15 cheaper and you can keep it forever in high quality. Plus, odds are the 6-man from Heat will be on there as an extra (and that was a fun match). Jason

This is over $500,000 now. Who would pay $500,000 for a phone number? Jason
