Well, Billy Gunn got a huge, insane push over and over and over again and still never got over. Jason

Exciting Newsflash: The scholarship is up to $250. Two $100 donors stepped up over the weekend. Jason

I have no problem with most of these movies, since they're good (for the most part). Austin Powers annoys me the most though. Jason

I don't like it because the whole commercial is how LeBron is all about the "glory of the team, AMEN!" Then there's 500 ridiculous dunks that are obviously done for the highlight reel, and LeBron's passes are crazy too (with behind-the-back stuff for SportsCenter). It's hypocritical. And, on top of all these things, it is annoying too. Jason

Workers used better by WCW than by Vince McMahon..
ISportsFan replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in General Wrestling
So did Regal. That's my point. He got 10-15 minutes when he was TV champ all the time back in the day. He faced Sting on PPV (!!!) and other top-notch competitors, and was always booked as if he could win. In WWE, he could beat Austin with STEPHANIE McMAHON's help, but that's it. He could win the IC title over people like Edge when they were pushed as weak. He's closer than a lot of the others, but I still think his talents were better used in WCW than in WWE. Jason -

So What Did You Think Of The Contract Singing?
ISportsFan replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't think they even bothered with loopholes back then. Wasn't it just everyone jumped back and forth whenever they wanted (i.e. UnAmericans and Jericho to Raw, Benoit and Guerrero to Smackdown) until Vince froze the contracts in about October 2002? Jason -
I'm pretty sure it's because he gets Mondays off from taping the show to tape all his skits for the week. Jason

So What Did You Think Of The Contract Singing?
ISportsFan replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
See, the thing is that never happens. Vince faced Austin in 1999. Big Show and Rock fought in 2000. Final Four match in 1997, all didn't matter in the end. HHH had to face Angle in 2002. Jason -
If that actually happened every match would be 10 minutes or less. I don't like it. it's a FIVE HOUR show. Remember last year with 10 matches and 4 hours? The first 5 matches got no time. 13 matches is too much, especially with a crappy halftime show. Jason

Does a Velocity match count as memorable? It depends on your definition of memorable. I tend to remember when good matches take place, mainly because I tape every WWE show, so I have to have an idea when a good match took place so I can rewatch it. So to me, they're memorable. Probably not to you, but to me. Jason

Paul London had an awesome singles match Saturday night on Velocity with Nunzio. Ultimo Dragon had a pretty dang good match the week before with Shannon Moore. And Chavo had a very good match with Rey Mysterio in Rey's debut match. Don't say that they haven't had one above-average match when they all have. You just have to watch the right stuff. Jason EDIT: Not saying they're top 5 workers when they have good 7 minute Velocity matches, but they have shown how they can work on WWE programming.

Agreed. The strap match at Beware of Dog 2 was fantastic. The WrestleMania XII match was no slouch either, but it was only shown on half a screen while an OJ Bronco joke was going on. Not only that, but he had good matches in 1996 with Hunter Hearst Helmsley (who was not good in 1996) at Buried Alive and Marc Mero at International Incident, let alone miscallaneous TV matches that I can't remember offhand. Jason EDIT: He also had another good match with Mero at King of the Ring 1996 in the semifinal.

My guess is that the ceremony will be given a clipjob highlight treatment on the PPV itself, probably in the same highlight package as the breakfast thing they're also selling tickets to. Jason

Do you honestly think that whoever gets the most votes on a gimmicked poll on the WWE website will have any relevance on who goes to No Way Out, as if they'd scrap their plans for the whims of a bunch of computer geeks that could have set up a script to vote in the poll 500 times per minute? Jason

I don't go to Stanford and I'm not necessarily trying to defend them, but I don't think they would have stormed the court if they didn't win on one of the most amazing last-second shots this season, if not this decade (taking into account that they had to steal the ball in order to even shoot it). Jason

Unless, of course, Vince thinks that the polka-dots were so revolutionary to the company that he must be admitted to the WWE Hall of Fame to showcase how great his impact was on WWE from 1989-1991. Jason

Exactly. To genius, who said that it's must miss TV, I have to disagree since we're seeing the dawning of a new era. A first of 2004. A first since October 2003. 4 months in the making. A U.S. Title match. Jason

I think he did (with Saturn) on Raw on 2/7/00 when the Radicalz turned on Foley before the huge 10-man in Dallas. Jason

His "Dream Match" with Rob Van Dam was quite forgettable. Dream match according to whom? Seriously, RVD v. Shawn sure doesn't excite me. Jason

This goes without saying. I seriously forget this counts as a sports league when these topics come up. But this is even worse than the NBA in my eyes. Jason
-
The NBA. Basketball is such a great sport, and all the best athletes in my favorite sport are in the NBA. But, nobody runs an offense and nobody plays in a defensive stance. It's all 1-on-1 stuff, and nobody moves without the ball. The 24-second shot clock makes the game less strategic and makes the offense work too fast, not looking for offensive sets and relying on more 1-on-1 things. The game has no flow because of all these things and more. Basketball is meant to be a finesse game, but the handchecking on the perimeter and things like that ruin what used to be a complete finesse game. And what is most annyoing is that the college game is becomming more like the NBA game, and the NBA is more and more boring each year. Jason

I miss two things about WCW. 1) The random cruiserweight match that was given 15 minutes on Nitros and on PPVs. 2) The competition that it gave Vince so he had to try. The rest of it was totally worthless for the most part. Jason

I know for sure that some more "minor" stuff like this happens at lower-level D-I schools. One of my friends that is going on a basketball full ride to Northern Illinois recently was checking out a different campus on an official visit, and he got some time in a strip club during the visit. Jason
