As a Bears fan, I know all too well that he's a RB. And he wasn't a total bust; he had a lot of yards his rookie year during the fluke 13-3 season. Unless, of course, I am having a brainfart. Jason

Bad loss for the White Sox. No runs after the first inning despite, and we've heard this before, leaving a ton of runners in scoring position. The Rays deserved to win, which is not something that I should be saying, but it's true. I actually have the feeling that, while I do think the White Sox are a playoff team this season, that this will happen more often as the season goes on. The pitching will do a decent enough job, but with the way we're hitting we're going to lose games where we leave a lot of people on base and just can't get a hit at the right time. And Bruiser, I don't know if you have any idea how arrogant Cub fans are. The run in 2003 into the playoffs was my freshman year of college, and the sheer amount of obnoxiousness that occurred was unbearable. I'm sure there are many White Sox fans that are like that, just as I'm sure there are many fans of every team like that. But, the Cubs are not immune, and I can't explain how much I was rooting for the Marlins in 2003 just to shut up all the Cub fans who were constantly stating how horrible the White Sox were and how awesome the Cubs were. Zaun is the most important story coming out of the Blue Jays/White Sox game today. He, on a clean slide with a clean attempt to throw to first by 2B Pedro Lopez, got kneed in the head when Lopez leaped to make the throw. Hopefully he is ok, but it looked like a whiplash effect. I hope it isn't serious. The White Sox won 5-4 behind a strong performance by Buehrle, allowing 4 runs in the 4th (only 2 earned) and nothing else in 7 1/3 innings. 2 more home runs by the Sox today, with Dye and Uribe hitting them. Uribe did have both the errors in the 4th inning, though, so he was not on my good list today. Jason

A quick question. I know there is such a thing as the Pythagorean record, but how is it calculated and where can I find them for the teams this year? Thanks guys. Jason

The Current Events folder. It's a lot like Hitler.
ISportsFan replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Brandon Truitt
Sometimes moderators have to make tough decisions, and it appears this was one of those times. They had to make a choice on whether or not Mike was more of a detriment than an asset to CE and the board as a whole, and apparently their choice is that we're better off without Mike. Since I'm not a mod, I can't really understand what goes on behind those closed doors. But, while I can't fault the mods for making a difficult decision, I do think it was the wrong decision. I got the same impression that kkk did from reading this folder so far -- Mike was banned because of something that happened a year ago, along with numerous minor, but cummulative, incidents since that point. If they were adding up, why not warn him? If something was truly wrong, or if he did something extremely horrible, then banning without warning makes sense. But, when it's just a buildup of past experiences climaxing this week (which didn't seem out of the ordinary to me for CE), then someone needed to warn Mike before he was banned. Simply banning someone for 1 year of minor problems without letting him know what to stop is really weak, and not very proactive. It seems as if it was someone who the moderators agreed with more often, a warning and more lienency would have occurred. It feels like the mods wanted to get rid of him for quite some time (which is ok, but warn him so he can have the chance to change), and decided that without warning that it was time. So, I respect that a decision was made, but I do not think the decision was the correct one. Jason -
Probably not. But that's ok. Either way, sometimes I feel like breaking up the monotony of most of the conversations with a different team. Jason

The White Sox scored 10 runs in the first four innings, bailing out Jon Garland's poor 6th inning to win a 10-7 game. Konerko hit two home runs (5 RBI), with Iguchi, Rowand, and Uribe also hitting longballs. Garland won his 6th despite giving up 6 runs in 5 2/3 innings. The Sox seem to win in different ways almost every game, either with a bunch of home runs, earning RBI with walks, or stealing bases and getting clutch hits. They're 23-7 now, and I'm very fortunate to be able to watch most of their games, because it's really fun to watch a team that works hard and gets results early in the season. Hopefully it continues. Most drastic gimmick changes for Wrestlers
ISportsFan replied to Vern Gagne's topic in General Wrestling
And lets not forget after all that was said it was decided the best thing to do was have him wrestle "naked" Actually, I think it would be best to forget that. He actually got a PPV match against William Regal at No Mercy 2000. Perhaps the only redeeming thing about Naked Mideon -- Regal's facial expressions. Jason -
I know, it's a very long time. You would think that they'd even out the division series a little more considering the unbalanced schedule exists, so it's more like one per month and less like 2 right away then 3 months off. Jason

The White Sox, in a game CC mentioned a couple of minutes ago, won 5-3 over Toronto. The field was a complete mess the entire night, with the dirt in the batter's box causing nearly half the batters, at one point or another during the evening, to slip and fall. AJ Pierzynski got the 2 RBI go-ahead single in the 8th, and Hermanson picked up his 5th save after El Duque pitched 7 innings, 6 of which were strong. Konerko also finally got out of his 0 for 26 slump, singling in the 8th. Jason

The White Sox won a gift from the Royals today, gaining only 2 hits in the first even innings without scoring while earning 4 walks and a hit batter to get two runs in the 8th to steal the game 2-1. Contreras got his first win (his first decision) of the season despite pitching well most nights. Greinke became the tough luck loser, again, and is 0-3 for Kansas City. Takatsu picked up his 8th save despite walking Sweeney and Stairs in the 9th. Jason

The only thing that bothers me about the show is the complete inconsistency in whether or not they're going to put Paul London on the show. How can he ever get over if they put him on Velocity one week, then Smackdown the next week, then Velocity, then run an angle with him on Smackdown, then not even mention it the following week. It's very confusing. MNM looks like they're getting a big push. The main event looks sweet. London and Akio on Velocity always makes me smile. So otherwise, I'm very happy. Jason

The White Sox pulled out another one run game, 5-4 over the Royals, despite Mike Sweeney hitting 2 home runs (including one that was a very low pitch, a ridiculously sweet home run by a very good player). Iguchi was on fire, hitting his first MLB HR and basically accounting for most of the Sox offense until Carl Everett hit a 2 run double to give the Sox their first lead at 5-4, where the game stayed. Buehrle improved to 4-1 despite giving up 4 runs over 8 innings, all on home runs. Takatsu picked up his 7th, I believe, save of the season on a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Jason

Discusses Raw results, so if you're taping it, be forewarned. After a comedy match loss in the first round of the tournament for Christian, it seems like they have no intention of pushing him at all. It's not like Kane is nearly worth anything anymore, so having Kane kill him dead with a chokeslam after Christian couldn't get anything without cheating seems counterproductive if a push was in the works. WGN is a WB affiliate in the Chicago area, but also is a "superstation" nationally, with different programming in the Chicago area and nationwide. I live in the suburbs of Chicago when I'm not at college, and there are two separate feeds in the two different areas. Jason

I am very similar to OSIcon, with one exception. I am a baseball fan, so I can watch baseball games relatively easily without much frustration when the White Sox are winning or losing. But, when they're losing, I hate watching the Sox games themselves. I will watch them regardless, but I usually am screaming and yelling at my TV when they blow it during September. It's extremely frustrating, and I'd much rather watch a different game when they are losing. I just can't turn their game off because I always have faith they'll win, and I like them too much to turn them off. Jason

Venis lost to Tomko in the Heat match, which was much better than one would think considering the participants. Dave Meltzer said "Venis did a good job here," and I totally agree. He got the crowd really into it and it was a very decent 5 minute match. Jason

Jon Garland improved to 5-0 with his second consecutive complete game shutout, the first time that has happened to a White Sox pitcher since 'Black' Jack McDowell in September 1991. A final score of 8-0 over the Tigers with Timo Perez hitting a 2 run home run (the first for the Sox in nearly a week, since April 25) with 3 total RBI on the game. Carl Everett also had 3 RBI, and Pedro Lopez got his first major league hit, RBI, and run scored while playing shortstop. The Sox are now 18-7 on the year, only losing the one series at Oakland so far. And to answer mike's question on teams sucking, I can only answer by saying that it is the worst feeling on the planet to see your team contend all year long only to falter in the final part of the season and finish second. And I've felt that quite a few times in my life (including the past 3 seasons). Jason

It wouldn't be so bad if the games weren't as many as three days apart. I mean, it's been an entire week and a lot of the series have only played three games. Jason

White Sox finally get a hit with runners in scoring position to win 4-3 over the Tigers. The Sox now have led in all 24 games they've played (winning 17 of them), which is second all time to start a season (1955 Brooklyn Dodgers led in 25 games to start the season). Jason

Even better. Thanks a bunch. Jason

If the player has a PAL-NTSC conversion, does that mean it will play these UK tagged classics? Would it still have problems because the discs are region 2? Thanks for help. Jason

I am not going to bother checking the box score, but by my count just from trying remember inning-to-inning, the White Sox left 16 on base in an 11 inning 3-2 loss to the Tigers. Wasting a bunch of runners yet again, the Sox better pick up the hitting. Jason
