Whoa! 24 is pulling out all the stops this year. TWO HOURS TONIGHT!!! Yes.

But a large % of fans out there realize that there team aren't contendors. Not World Series Winners, not Playoff bound, but not even threats to be taken seriously. Do you really think that the fans of the Royals, Tigers, D-Backs, Reds, Brewers and all of those laden shitty teams honestly care about winning the World Series? No. They probably go to the game because it is cheap, or they want to see certain players. Maybe Baseball should just cut 1/3 of the teams out there and maybe it would become more competitive and will get more attention. D-Backs and Brewers fans probably will in a few years or two. Especially D-Backs. They are about to have a legendary lineup, as they have a ton of SUPER high end prospects that are all essentially big league ready. (Conor Jackson, Carlos Quentin, Stephen Drew, JUSTIN UPTON) They would just need to sign an ace through free agency and I could honestly see them winning the 2007 or 2008 World Series. Same with the Brewers (although they would need to get a bit more lucky).

That's why I'm talking about. Before this season - I said that a win over Duke would make this season a success. Obviously the team exceeded my expectations and might finish the regular season in the Top 10. Absolutely amazing considering they will most likely be the preseason number 1 next year. GO HEELS and I'm pretty upset that I'm not on Franklin St. tonight.

Duke/UNC has been an awesome game to this point. Duke by 1 at the half but there have been about 10 lead changes.

Pokey Reese has informed the Marlins that he might not be coming back to camp. That all but hands the 2B job, to start the season at least, to "journey-man prospect" Dan Uggla who is a good hitter but apparently a weaker fielder. I had hoped Uggla would win the job all along, so see you later, Pokey.

Bruiser, It's justified. He's not arbitration eligible until next year and both he and his agent have gone on record saying that they know they have a big pay day in the future. Keep him cheap this year and I honestly think that the Marlins will try to go long term with him. At least I hope. But either way, I've read in a few places that they WILL pay him until his salary goes over $10M a year and then get rid of him. Who knows how long that will take.

Marlins. And he was found today.

Read about the sales record in the UK and downloaded a few EPs off of iTunes. At first, I wasn't really impressed, but "I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor" has been stuck in my head for days. I also like "Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts" and a few of the other songs are ok to listen to. The question is: to all of you UK guys, is the CD any good? It releases here in the States next Tuesday.

The current ESPN.com poll question (3/2 - 11:16 PM EST) is "What is your favorite sport?" NFL is winning every state and overall is at 57%. Baseball is easily in second with around 27% and the NBA is down around 10%. Exactly what I figured.

Would the others trust Locke? I'm not so sure. I think they realize HE's the one THEY need to worry about.
-
I was pretty worried that Kevin wasn't going to make it, but thankfully America was using their brain last night and kept him in the competition.
-
He's signed up for this year. Take that however you want to.
-
Let me ask you a question: If I had to make you guess what type of contract extention Randy Winn just signed, what would you guess? 2 yrs/7 mil? 3 yrs/10 mil? How about 3 years/23.25 mil? Yikes.

Well...we're gonna find out what happened to Claire tonight. Percentage we're all saying WTF at the end of the night? I'm gonna shoot it at around 65%.

I know it goes against half the reason I watch the show in the first place, but I look forward to the guys weeks more than the girls. They're just the better singers! But man, Kellie Pickler has a nice ass.

That's a little bit of a stretch. The NCAA game was licensed as such out of necessity, rather than any growing popularity for college baseball. EA Sports needed to have some kind of a license on their baseball game, which was already into development, but the MLB license exclusivity had already been snatched up by another competing company. The MVP series was too successful for EA to completely close up shop for a year, so they slapped the NCAA trademark on it and ran. Well, obviously it won't have the mainstream appeal of the MLB game. I hang out in some circles where we all take minor league and college baseball a little too seriously and I know people who were practically willing to camp out for this thing. Some people just love college baseball. As for the original post - the guy who said those things was an idiot. I don't think a further rational explanation is needed. If I had to guess, I would state that baseball is the overall #2 sport in the United States behind the NFL. #2 for white people, #3 for black people (NBA) and #1 for latinos, who also happen to represent the largest growing section of America. I honestly think baseball will be be #1 again in 20 years.

Great episode tonight. Just really outstanding. After Jack discovered the bomb..."How could I be so stupid?" Yet he recovered in time to move everything in the room to block the door and hide under the floor. All in under a minute. JACK BAUER. I had high hopes for tonight and I wasn't let down.

List Big shocker at #2. 7 Marlins in the top 100. 9 Dodgers! And 5 D-Backs in the top 30. Some strong systems out there.
-
So, now that Claire goes back to a DHARMA bunker and she says that the "baby is sick now..." Can we assume that Ethan was with DHARMA and not the Others? That's what I'm thinking at this point. Obviously we'll find out more on Wednesday.

Bo lost to Carrie in last year's final by only 134 votes? I don't know if I believe that.
-
All I can say after reading that is that Christopher Hendersen must be a true badass. There's a reason Jack flinches upon hearing his name. That preview actually looks exciting.
-
I like the song that opens the album, High. I'm prepared to deal with the ramifications of admitting that.

Maybin has played as many innings as the #2 overall prospect - Justin Upton. Jim Callis also called J. Upton the next Ken Griffey Jr. in a chat today. Big shoes to fill. At least he plays good D, unlike his brother.

Guys, Becky and her twin sister posed as models in Maxim a few years ago. Surprisingly, Maxim has resurrected the pictures now that she's on American Idol. I can't get the Maxim website to load at the moment to provide a link, but they're there.
