That was a great game.

I don't think the Marlins got worse. Granted, they put the 2006 season in the bag, but they acquired more key parts and upper level prospects than they did in the previous firesale. Everyone assumes that the previous firesale built the 2003 championship but go back and look at the moves. The only key players that came over was Derek Lee and AJ Burnett and AJ contributed exactly nothing to the 2003 championship run. The rest were shrewd draft moves/fa signings (Beckett, Cabrera, Alex Gonzalez, Luis Castillo) or trades that came later (Lowell, Willis, Conine, Pierre, Encarnacion). The previous firesale also didn't leave two mega-studs behind like Cabrera and Willis. The Marlins aren't going to be as bad off as everyone thinks.

People should read the Fire + Water one even if they are averse to these. It doesn't mention anything remotely major but it does mention something that we've all been hoping for. H + L = looooooooove.

The Dodgers got Danys Baez and Lance Carter from the D-Rays for former #1 prospect Edwin Jackson and Chuck Tiffany. I have a ton of Chuck Tiffany rookie cards, so I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Sounds like Damaramu's shooting for this webpage... www.bizarrebids.com Worth checking out for everyone - there's some hilarious shit on there.

I'm still holding out hope for a UNC victory over Duke in the game at the Smith Center. Maybe that's the Tarheel in me, but I truly believe it. I'm just upset that I'm not in Chapel Hill anymore... I like this team almost as much as last years. The only difference is that last year victory was expected - this year it's much more rewarding.

Well, the way most people build up feedback is by buying first - I would think. There are also some auctions on eBay for .99 or so to "trade feedback." I started selling right off the bat, but that was in 2001 and I didn't really know better. I didn't realize until much later that it may have cost me. The keys to selling: good title that will hit on as many keywords as possible, picture is a must, and a clean description that lays out the shipping and all of that. If your auction looks like: This is a copy of Madden 2003 for Xbox. And that's it - you'll definitely get no bids. I mostly buy/sell sports cards so I'm not sure how it works in all areas, but if you look around eBay - you can see some well laid out auctions and try to mimick them.

Well, if you ship within the United States, you will be covered by Paypal seller protection plan as long as you ship with delivery confirmation. It was .55 extra, but with the new rate increase at the post office - I'm not sure what it is now. I've sold hundreds of items, and was even briefly a powerseller. eBay sent me a whole bunch of free stuff after that. It's almost impossible to sell stuff with 0 feedback, so you're not going to do as well as you'd like until you have a reputation as someone trustworthy. The only way to do that is build up your feedback. Good luck.

Damn double post. I'll use it to add that I also enjoyed the scene with Michael/Locke and the combination to the gun room. Locke is awesome.

Wow. We actually picked that out during the episode. At first we thought it was a little girl, but I rewound it and watched it frame by frame. Interesting stuff. I called it to Amy too, because it was like Locke said...the island told him what to do. That was after he saw the security system. We also thought that the Others are watching their bunker because when Jack wheeled around on the screen, the words went away. I think it's all a trap to lure away Michael. I mean, not like that's a stretch, but I think they have them under surveillance somehow.

How do we know that Charlie hasn't already started using? Eko's backstory was bad ass, alright. Double throat slash? He's the badass we all hoped Jin was after the first Jin/Sun episode. Man, I missed Lost.

I can't believe they ditched the G5 for a dual core Intel. Something I never thought I'd see.

Remember when I said Eli was further along than Palmer at equal points in their career? Yeah, I'm an idiot.

UNC takes down #12 NC St. Awesome win - Tarheels really took control in the second half. It might have just been wishful thinking on my part to say the Heels were gonna be pretty good this year, but it's turning out to look more and more concrete every day. A win over NC St. is great. Maybe, just maybe they can beat Duke this year.

David Wright over Miguel Cabrera is a little silly, in my opinion. It's all about hype and perception. If David Wright was on Florida he would be regarded pretty similarly how Mike Lowell was a few years ago (although Wright is better, in my opinion. Put Cabrera on the Mets and the New York papers would be photoshopping pictures of him walking on the Hudson River. To put it simply: I strongly disagree. I think Miguel will go a long way towards proving just how good he is next season.

I think it's worth it. Rob Neyer, Chat archives, Sports Guy archives, all of the STATS matchup previews (NCAA, NFL), Baseball America. And you get a years sub to ESPN the Mag. Definitely worth it for baseball fans, in my opinion.

I don't know what's more interesting... The fact that Tom Tupa was the first QB drafted in 1998. Or that no QBs were drafted until the 3rd round.

Is there something to this or is this a Czech Republic message board special? Oh, I just noticed that Czech was the first reply and not the topic starter.

Kotzenjunge is the worst. Possibly ever. And his picture doesn't help. At all.

It's about time you got a real job, you fucking scumbag. You're definitely old enough.

For only $80? I'm not sure that's going to inspire a police manhunt.

The Marlins have also signed Miguel Olivo. Look out.

I had a Nutrition and Disease course last year and one of the lectures was about anorexia. The lady who lectured that day said that in some people...using ipecac only one or two times can cause heart failure.

Not bad. Got a new car, moved back to NY and got a puppy. Not much else to report.

Word of the skit is spreading. It was referenced in an article I read on ESPN.com this morning.
