Once I write my Dodgers preview on this board, it should look clearer. As for the Giants, they have no hope without Bonds. Bonds created 183 runs last season. You take away 183 runs from the Giants, and they fall from 2nd to 13th in runs scored. That bumps them from 91 wins to approximately 69 wins. The Giants can flat out not win this division without Bonds. Let me save Al some trouble... the Dodgers have the best farm system in all of baseball. They have seven prospects in the Top 100 Prospect List, more than any other franchise, and Irvin "Joel" Guzman is going to be a stud. The Dodgers are gonna be pretty great in a few years.

I vote for Scott every week. He is a HOMERUN on this show. His constant sky pointing, thanking of Jesus, ridiculous outfits, and overall apperance grade 101% on the unintentional comedy scale and I want him around for as long as possible. And occasionally he'll throw a good song in too.

I think this was my favorite episode of the entire series. I was loving every second of it - especially the light at the end.

I totally agree with Tyler. I don't know for sure, but I'd be SHOCKED if the target was anything else. And after tonight, I've come to the conclusion that 24, the series, can NOT end with Jack Bauer alive. He's been through too much and everyone sees him as Superman. He either needs to die in the last episode or a few away from the last for the series to have a satisfying conclusion - whatever season that may be.

Good news: We're in the final four. Bad news: I will be in San Diego for a conference all next weekend into Wednesday. So I won't be here on Franklin St. for all the bedlam if we take the crown. At least my conference is in San Diego and not somewhere unappealing. Go HEELS.

Only about two hours to go until UNC/Wisconsin. Everyone here in Chapel Hill was nervous about Villanova before hand, but not too many people I've talked to or seen around town are too worried about Wisconsin. Good sign or bad sign? We'll see. Go Heels.

I disagree. Acquiring Dave Roberts is a very, very good move for this team, for two reasons. One, he can cover the expansive center field in Petco. Jay Payton was a liability, and his fielding statistics only look good because he had to cover for Ryan Klesko in left field. When you play in a park with a massive outfield, you need outfield defense, and Klesko, Giles and Payton just is not going to cover it. Dave Roberts will cut a few points off the team ERA. Second, Roberts' abilities unlike most hitters should not be affected by the ballpark. Jay Payton hit .242/.305/.304 last season at home. No player in the majors with more than 200 home at bats hit worse. In Petco, Payton smashes the ball and it just lands in a glove somewhere. Roberts' skills are perfect for a ballpark like that. I agreed with this when I read the same exact thing in 2005 Baseball Prospectus on Saturday.

No, they'll be watching Sean May and Roy Williams cut them down.

Well, good thing someone else bumped this because I wasn't gonna just for this... but... It looks like the Marlins might have found someone to take Encarnacion off their hands. According to ESPN.com, the Pirates are interested. Don't know who the Marlins would get, but it doesn't matter.

My new car is shiftronic which is apparently manual for dummies. I can touch it up one way or the other to change gears, but it won't let me do anything stupid. I just keep it in automatic.

You are right, they lack depth. I think they will trade Stokes midseason and bring back some talent to help for the stretch drive. But if no one gets hurt, they have a great lineup. I think they will contend all season. I really think this is the year Josh Beckett turns it on and a year in which Cabrera takes another step to becoming a 40/120 guy.

I'm hoping for UW-Milwaukee and Niagara wins here.
