Jason Giambi admitted to taking steroids

Well, by all means, kick me in the nuts. Giambi, yes. But I'm assuming you mean Bonds also. I still think Bonds is innocent.

Isn't it obvious that Locke is going to be evil? He doesn't want to return to his life and that little prick that keeps taunting him. This is the life he always dreamed about!

To go along with the Leiter signing, according to Insider the Marlins and Angels are the two frontrunners for Tim Hudson. Didn't say who the Marlins would have to give up, but as long as it's not Stokes or Hermida... I'm all for it. Josh Beckett Tim Hudson AJ Burnett Dontrelle Willis Al Leiter I think that's a winning rotation if I ever saw one. (Assuming health)

Let's hope they use them on "Josh Beckett" and not "Adrian Gonzalez" type players.

I agree with Al. When the Marlins signed Benitez, I thought they threw their money away. But after watching him pitch around 50 times this year, I have to say he's the best closer the Marlins had since Robb Nen. Granted, with the likes of Antonio Alfonseca, Vlad Nunez, Michael Tejera, and ugh...Braden Looper all taking shots at it, that doesn't really say much. He and Pavano are both gone. In the new ESPN the magazine, Pavano pretty much flat out states he's not coming back to Florida. Oh well. He's not going to perform as well next year as he did this year - especially if he goes to an American League park.

This Indiscriminate time period in College Hoops

Remember all that talk after UNC lost their opener? Where is it now that they breezed through the Maui Invitational, pushing 100 in two games and just blowing away the competition. And then they put a beatdown on USC. Felton is the key. They are making the Final Four this year.

    Notre Dame fires Willingham

He didn't deserve it - at all. With that schedule and their tough academic standards, I highly doubt anyone will ever suceed at Notre Dame again.

U2 "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb"

I like it. "City of Blinding Lights", "Original of the Species", and "Vertigo" are some of my favorites. Solid album all the way through.

    iTunes... now offering booklets?

I checked it out. I couldn't believe the sheer amount of songs that were available. If I were a huge U2 fan, I may have picked it up. I think at this point iTunes is far and away the number one digital music outlet, but I could just be biased.
  15. Just bought U2's "How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" on iTunes and one of the files that came with the cd was a .pdf file that was called the digital booklet. If you open it, it's pretty much the booklet that would come with the CD. Some people complained early on with iTunes that they felt like you would need to get "something" beside the music in order to feel like you were really purchasing something. This is the first CD I've gotten from iTunes in a few weeks, so I'm wondering, is this their new policy? Or is it just their extreme love for U2?
  16. Yikes. So much for Dickie V's Preseason Number 1. Hopefully it's an abnormality. Tomorrow morning I have the honor of getting damn near courtside tickets for 5 UNC games, including Maryland and Georgia Tech. Hopefully they'll have it all figured out by January.

Leiter lives in florida, the salary would not be taxable, he pitched a no hitter and won the World Series with the Marlins and they also offered him a broadcast slot when his career is over. It's a sweetheart deal if I ever saw one. I'm hoping he takes it. Good enough #4 starter for me.
  18. 36 point win for the Heels tonight in Maui. They are going to win this tournament, just watch.

Charley Steiner agrees with Anglesault. He says enough of this, and became the new announcer of the Dodgers today. (Charle Steiner may or may not have actually made these statements. Although he IS the Dodgers new announcer.)
  20. Flipping through the channels today due to my crappy 4 PM NFL games and I caught Whale Rider on one of the channels. During one of the commercials, there was a commercial for Seasonale, a pill that can cause women to get their period only 4 times a year. The lead actress? At first I thought it was Vanessa Marcil, from Las Vegas, but upon further thinking and a quick rewind on the DVR I realized it was Ashleigh from Joe Schmo 1. The commercial is very cheesy, a lot of women dancing around in white dresses and making happy expressions that they only have to get their period 4 times a year. She is the main of all of them though, the camera keeps focusing on her. Guess it didn't launch her career like she would have hoped, huh?
  21. Which one, Mole? Molly, Ashleigh, Dr. Pat? From Season 2? You need to provide more info.

  25. Nov. 20 - Jered Weaver is confident he'll be pitching in the Angels' system next year, but according to the Orange County Register, his agent isn't nearly so optimistic. "We will get it done, but it may not be with the Angels," Scott Boras told the newspaper. Weaver was the Angels' top draft pick -- slipping to No.12 overall since other teams didn't want to pay Boras' asking price (around $10 million) -- but talks have not gone anywhere. "The Angels knew full well what kind of player they were getting and what his fair-market value was, because we told them in good faith," said Boras. "We were ready to sign at any time based upon information we gave them before the draft." GM Bill Stoneman denied the framework for a deal was in place before the draft: "All I can say is there's absolutely no accuracy to that. We have had absolutely no agreement with him." Boras believes Weaver shouldn't be viewed as other drafted players because the Long Beach State right-hander is polished enough to pitch in the major leagues next year. Weaver was a unanimous choice as the best college pitcher in 2004, when he went 15-1 with a 1.62 ERA. Said Boras: "He can step in and help a team immediately." If the Angels don't sign Weaver by June, he will go back into the draft and the Angels will have wasted their top pick. Weaver is not interested in playing independent ball, so he could risk going an entire season without pitching. Sounds to me like he wants to sign, but Boras is the one who is stopping him from doing so. Something needs to be done about Boras.
