Wow, no one really is watching the series, are they? Needless to say, I'm a bit disappointed in this game up to this point. The bats at the bottom of the order did terrible. I'm hopeful in a way because 1-6 hit Pettite pretty well...just to the wrong spots. If they can get out of this...maybe something can get started.

I thought two of those pitches to Pudge were balls. Oh well.

It is time.

The game got a 26.7 rating and 40 share in New York, and a 36.6/54 in Miami. ESPN.com They MAY be bandwagon fans, but they bandwagon hard. Yeah, the ratings sucked, but on the bright side they were higher than last years.

The Yankees really need to find an answer for Juan Pierre.

mussina faces Beckett, no question the better pitcher in these playoffs. Just keep underestimating the Marlins, Ditaliano, just like everyone else did. You'll have plenty to complain about in the offeseason.

Well, I wasn't near my computer for the game so I couldn't post. To make a long story short, this is what is going to happen all series. I have total faith in the Marlins to totally dismantle the Yankees. The Marlins BLEW so MANY opportunities tonight and still got the job done. This is their series to lose. I wasn't nearly this confident about the first two series. They are just THAT MUCH better than the Yankees. As much as the NY fans will refuse to believe it.... Penny was on for awhile, and the Willis just shut the door (sans the HR). Redman is one of the Marlins best pitchers this whole year, hope Pettite has his A game tomorrow, or they will be going back to Florida down 0-2.

20 minutes to go to Game One. I have my Dontrelle Willis jersey on and ready to rock and roll. Go Marlins!
-
Oh, If you go back to page one, I posted an article from the official Marlins site that listed the rotation and that Dontrelle will be used as the primary left handed power reliever, coming in to get out the Yanks big left handed bats.

This thread would have been even more classic if we allowed WS talk to continue in here. Oh well. if this thread is going to be locked soon, let me conclude with stuff I've been saying ever since I predicted the Marlins would win the wild card, back in the first WEEK OF JULY... They are better than you give them credit for, and that includes just about all of you. Yankee fans are expecting a cake walk, and that my friends is not going to happen. Go Marlins.

Ding Ding Ding. That's the rotation. 1- Penny 2- Redman 3- Beckett 4- Pavano 5- Penny 6- Redman 7- Beckett

Any thoughts on the NEW strong bad email? I love when the Cheart impersonates Strong Bad (see Crazy Cartoon) and this was no exception. Fucking awesome update.

I honestly think the Marlins are a better team. Marlins in 5. What Buster Olney thinks...I like what he has to say. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2003...ster&id=1640399

The Marlins are set to kick off Game 1 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Brad Penny gets the start in the opener with Mark Redman and Josh Beckett slated to follow in Games 2 and 3. Dontrelle Willis likely won't be in the rotation as his role becomes the Marlins' primary power relief pitcher. florida.marlins.mlb.com

Well, I honestly think it would be more accurate to title your subtitle as speculation as opposed to spoilers.

Where is New Me to defend himself? Or did the police already find his "collection"?

Jayson Stark has picked the Marlins in six. And to all those people who hate Jeffrey Loria, shouldn't you be placing some of the blame on Bud Selig? What the hell did you expect Loria to do when Selig made him the offer?

ORESTES DESTRADE!! I just marked out at 9 am. Thank you.

I also think that the Marlins can win this series. The Yankees will expect nothing out of them and then they will be surprised like everyone else was. I'm glad the Red Sox didn't win for selfish reasons, although in the grander scheme of things I would have liked them in it. I do think the Red Sox had a better chance of beating the Marlins though. We could be looking at WS title number two in 10 years.

Well, I just want to make my opinion known since I'm sure most people think of me when they think of the Marlins. i watched the whole game in my living room with my housemates (hence no postings) and was cheering for the sox the whole time. I can NOT believe they blew that lead, and Boone...wow. All I can say is this...if the Sox won I would have been upset that the Marlins lost the series but happy that someone deserving won it. But now I'm polarized. Either I will be thrilled that the Marlins beat the most evil franchise in the history of the world or crushed that they were just another statistic. Fuck Hank Blalock for giving the Yanks home field advantage. One day off and then it's world series time baby. I can not wait. And win or lose, FUCK THE YANKEES
