HR Cordero, Marlins retake the lead!!
-
HR Lowell. 5-5 in Philly. Never sleep on the Marlins, especially when they are playing their personal manservants.
-
Castro striking out with the bases loaded is now magnified by 1000x percent.
-
It certainly seems that things have fallen apart. Didn't the Marlins have the highest (or at least one of) field percentage last year?
-
DID YOU GUYS JUST SEE THAT?! For those who missed it, George was the last person. And they told George that he was safe, and to join the top groups. The two groups were Fantasia, Latoya and Jennifer and the other group was John, Diana, and Jasmine. George went over to the group with Fantasia et al. And Seacreast was like, you joined the wrong group. This is tonight's bottom 3! Everyone was stunned, including John Stevens. He looked like a deer in headlights. George looked he didn't know what was going on.

Anyone watching Phillies/Marlins? Looking on the gamecast they have called strike 3 on Ramon Castro out of the strike box low. Was it a strike or was it a bad call?
-
Just got back and around to checking the score. Pavano only has 49 pitches through 5 innings. He could easily go 9 if things continue to go well.
-
At least they can both be proud that their grandson has a fucking amazing avatar.

They can't shorten the schedule, all the single season records would have their long, elegant, important history reduced to nothing. I am slowly but surely finding myself to be a traditional baseball man at the spy young age of 22. I hate the DH, would rather watch a pitcher sac bunt a runner to second. Would rather watch a game with small ball instead of 3 run HR city, and I am starting to believe in the tradition of the game. I sometimes pretend that the American League doesn't exist. Not to say that I don't appreciate the american league, but I think i'd rather watch a meaningless game between say...the Astros and Braves or Giants and Dodgers than ANY american league game, with the small exception of Yankees vs. Sox, although I skipped the whole series the first time around. Back on track, I think shortening the schedule would be a terrible thing to do. I think it would make my head a'splode.

I wouldn't brag about this...three characteristics of Baby Hughy...big, fat, stupid. Sure, nice is one too, but it hardly cancels out the other three. As for me, It was Mik growing up and none currently. Everyone in college just calls me Mike. How exciting.

I don't know what's cooler, the hat or the fact that 80,000 idiots that listen to talk radio almost had their heads explode this morning in Boston.

I see any movie with Owen Wilson, Johnny Depp, and Jim Carrey. Actress wise, I have none, but Uma Thurman is getting there.

Since no one else has commented, the Marlins beat the Phillies 3-1, proving that no matter what happens, the Phillies can't beat the Marlins. More importantly, Dontrelle Willis only allowed one UNearned run so he is 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 19 and 2/3 innings. Sophomore slump is definitely not evident.

The Godzilla 2000 line was just a bit of sarcasm, don't worry. I've never even seen it and did not attempt to seriously bring it into the arguement. After your last post, I don't think we have anything left to argue about. If you just said that in the beginning I never would have responded, because that's pretty well reasoned and makes sense. I disagree, just a bit. But I can easily see someone thinking what you said above. Except for everyone thinking it was rubbish. What type of people are you asking exactly? I hang out with a bunch of movie dorks and we all liked volume 2 better. My girlfriend is the exact opposite of a movie dork (only goes when I drag her, every week) and she liked it better. I've talked to about 50 people on this movie (no joke, you don't really feel like talking about biochemistry in a biochemistry class) and maybe 2 or 3 liked it less. Not one single person said it was a terrible movie. But hey, I get what you're trying to say now, and I won't attack anymore. That's your opinion and I happen to disagree.
-
Believe me, I LOVE Volume 1 for all of those same reasons. It's probably one of the "coolest" movies I have ever seen. I've watched it three times since last Tuesday. I just can't buy the whole style over plot arguement. Look at what happened to Lucas, even his fanboys are turning against him, for the terrible plots in the new Star Wars movies. It is ESSENTIAL to have a great plot, or everything else is just there.
-
There were SOME things though. It wasn't like it was drably shot, nothing at all to look at. If you didn't like the plot, fine, totally acceptable. But to say that the style completely disappeared is insane. It's the same movie! I am totally agreeing with you that there was more style in Vol. 1, but I think that this was a better movie because it made me care about the characters. Now, if you prefer your movies with tons of style and characters that don't mean anything, that's your perogative. I hear Godzilla (2000) is an excellent movie if you view it that way.

Marlins already jumped up 2-0 on the Phils. The more newsworthy development, however, is Dontrelle struck out in the 2nd inning, ending his hit streak at 7 at bats. Still has the shutout streak in tact though.
-
JSYK, do you like monster truck rallies? That's just the impression I'm getting, that stories don't really matter. Plot is only important in a book...huh? You can have all the visuals and style in the world, but if the plot isn't there, the movie is going to suffer, and badly. Yes, there ARE lots of times that I see a trailer and think, wow that looks like it will be a very well done movie. Some recent examples would be Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind and Big Fish. Big Fish also had the visuals, but it was the heart and plot that made the movie what it was. Look, I like visuals as much as the next guy, but to say it's more important that plot? I highly doubt you're going to find a lot of support for a statement like that.

I actually think Family Guy has one of the worst openings ever. It's boring and ALWAYS exactly the same.
-
At about this point, I was expecting significant things to go wrong, like the strippers you brought over overdosed on cocaine and there is a dead body buried in your backyard...or you had a party and drunk girls threw up everywhere. SOMETHING. Instead the wine cork broke, you stubbed your toe, and broke a can opener. Keep on truckin'.
-
Is there more than 10 people who actually know what the hell this is all about?
-
Not even the camera sinking from widescreen to a full screen ratio when Beatrix was buried alive...presumably to impress the condition of being trapped upon the audience They were there. I agree, not as many. But who cares, the plot was way better. Isn't that more important?
-
Al, you are a lucky man, because you'll most likely be able to watch all 3 games. I'll only be able to watch Thursdays game on ESPN. I'm glad Dontrelle is on the mound tomorrow, because I think if anyone can break the slump it's him. We'll see.

Keep dreaming, dude. No mods are going to delete that thread, on account of its greatness at your sheer and total embarrassment.
