F4W/WON WWE Notes - Summarized notes, radio notes, etc.
Atticus Chaos replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
That's my problem with it. I assume you don't do a photoset like that without knowing it'll come back and haunt you one day. The whole babes in the woods act is annoying. You may as well be honest about it. I doubt WWE care that much anyway. Considering all the stuff Candice did and nobody seems to mind. Lena's past is also somewhat dubious. -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8uGenNjOAI Great video from the daily show pointing out the hypocrisy of all the republicans jumping to defend Palin on the various issues.

I think the grandparents are partly to blame for this. The mother wanted to give the girl up for adoption when she was born, but they wouldn't let her. They should have just let her do what she wanted. She obviously wasn't cut out to be a mother.

Peggy Noonan and others GOPers completely trash the Palin decision on air without realizing the mic is on. transcript Murphy: ...because I come out of a blue swing-state governor world. Engler. Whitman. Tommy Thompson. Mitt Romney. Jeb Bush. And I mean, and these guys, this is all like how you win a Texas race, just run it up. And, IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK. Noonan: IT'S OVER. Murphy: Still, McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech and do himself some good Chuck Todd. [unintelligible]... think the Palin pick is insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson? Noonan: ...saw Kay this morning. Todd: [sounds like 'she's not comfortable talking about it????] Murphy: They're ALL bummed out Todd: Is she really the most qualified woman? Noonan: Most qualified? NO. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives. Todd: yeah, they went to narratives. Murphy: I totally agree. Noonan: Every time Republicans do this, because that's not where they live, and that's not what they're good at, they blow it. Murphy: You know what's really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is "no cynicism" and this is cynical. Todd: And as you called it, "gimmicky"

The thing is, Mccain is 72, has fought cancer, and spent five years in a POW camp (which has to take a decade off your life). Yeah, people don't vote for a veep, but one so obviously incompetent, and more likely to end up president than any other vp in recent memory, is going to put people off. I read a piece by a conservative who despised Obama/Biden but said she couldn't in good conscience vote for that ticket knowing that woman was so close to the presidency and having no confidence in her abilities to deal with Russia, Iran, Iraq...etc.

The National Enquirer had now set up HQ in Alaska. And the whole state is about to be besieged by reporters looking for info on Palin. You know, the stuff Mccain's staff missed when they did their extensive vetting. Her much lauded 90% approval rating is supposedly BS as well. People have alleged they just keep polling the same 500 people over and over again. I don't think she's that likeable, even if that's supposed to be her number one asset. Her voice reminds me of Marge from Fargo.
-
Oh, its okay. The Mccain team vetted her strongly....they used a google search. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/na...0,1915740.story This makes Mccain look really, really bad. You're going to risk leaving the fate of the free world in the hands of this woman based on a quick google search? Now, Obama will reveal he knew Joe Biden was cool after he read his profile on wikipedia.

Again, it would be political suicide to do otherwise. Hopefully, they are more tasteful than The Republicans. There's no way Colbert/Stewart/ other late night comedians will leave this pregnancy story alone. Speaking of colbert he was very funny the night Palin was announcement as the running mate. 'We're all eager to see who Mccain will soon announce as his vp....here he is at a rally today, with some female supporter....I assume won a radio call in....Now, who's it going to be? Will it be Romeny? Or Pawlenty? Who... (someone whispers offscreen) THAT is his VP? Who the fuck is Sarah Palin?!'
-
For getting knocked up or for having a right-wing crackpot for a mother? This is a girls personal life-it shouldn't be made an issue. I'm tempted to say her mother should have thought of that before she decided to put herself in such a high profile postion and left her daughter open to such scrutiny . The Alaskan press have respectfully kept this under wraps, but it must have occured to Palin that the mainstream press wouldn't be so generous.
-
Interestingly, you can't get married in Alaska till you're 18. So unless both parents reach the age of 18 in the next four months, this child will likely be born out of wedlock.
-
I bet Mccain's beginning to wish he had went with his own instincts and picked Ridge or Lieberman and not who Rush Limbaugh told him to give the running mate spot to. She's just a bad, bad VP pick.
-
Personally I find the fact that her and McCain are both going around peddling an outright lie about her saying "No thanks" to that Bridge to Nowhere mess a lot more damning, but whatevs. I'm more concerned about the "supported Pat Buchanan in 2000 'cuz Bush wasn't conservative enough" and "seems to have supported Alaskan secession from the US". She's also a higher up in Feminists for life who , apart from obviously being pro life, consider contraception an abortion method.
-
Palin herself was rumoured to have had a shotgun wedding (like mother, like daughter). She got married in late August, her first son was born in April and there was talk of their elopement being due to pregnancy. I feel bad for the teenagers. Do they even want to get married?
-
So, it does. It should be noted, Palin has went on record as saying she doesn't believe in sex ed classes. She thinks teaching abstinence works.
-
Do you think Palin mentioned this to Mccain when he asked her? Seriously, this really says a lot about Mccain's judgement that he's picked an obviously unqualified women with so many scandals in going on in her life. The Obama camp heavily vetted every candidate- to the point they were asking Tim Kaine who his college girlfriend was. And the Mccain campaign didn't even check out the basic facts on this woman? I have to say though, with this latest revelation: in terms of sheer entertainment, election '08 beats Lost, Dexter, Desperate Housewives, and everything else on tv.
-
My old RE teacher was once warning the class about contraception and mentioned him and his wife used the natural family planning method. It sounds like it would be very easy to make a mistake and get mixed up with the dates.
-
http://www.andrewhalcro.com/vetting_the_ve...st_announcement Supposedly, Mccain's staff are only just now vetting her. After she's been picked. I remember hearing her name mentioned but I thought the trooper scandal would ensure she wasn't picked. Not to mention the other skeletons she has in her closet (she did a disasterous job in wasilla and was almost recalled as Mayor and her family is well known in Alaska to be dysfunctional).

John Cena having major neck problems
Atticus Chaos replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
As far as I know, Dr. Jho's surgery worked just fine, it was an unprotected chair shot from Lesnar that got Angle fucked up again. Yeah, it was mentioned that Hall (and possibly Nash) have had it and seem fine now. I think Edge has said he would have had the Jho surgery if he'd known about it. I do think Angle's neck was so bad, even before he entered wwe, nothing would have really been a long term solution. People in WWE assume Jho is a quack, which isn't true at all. I've heard he's quite highly respected in the medical world. To stop wrestlers from choosing it because it didn't appear work out for Angle seems unfair, especially since, as mentioned, he was a poor case study anyway. -

They won't let him get the Dr Jho surgery Angle got either. I think because Jho's surgery didn't fully work on Angle, people just assume it can't work on anyone, but Angle's neck was bad. I'm going to assume Cena's neck isn't as bad as Angle's was, so he might have better results. The youngblood surgery isn't full proof either. It only gave Austin a couple of extra years. -

I heard it suggested that rushing back from his pec tear may have caused this. He might have ending up trying to take the pressue of his injury and ended up putting more of it on his neck. I'm not sure how true that is but I did think him coming back so quickly would have consequnces. -
I really hope they don't get Angelina Jolie as catwoman. She's a terrific actress but can you imagine the premiere? 'Oh, look at Brad and Angelina...oh my God! Its brad and Angelina!!!! Can you believe it! And they brought their kids!! Aren't they adorable!.........oh, and apparantly there's a movie about batman or something.'

The fight scenes in transporter 2 were superb. The rest of the film? Well, not great. But you don't go to see movies like that for terrific scripts and character development anyway. I can't wait for the third one. In the name of the king falls under the terrority of so bad its good (like all uwe boll films). It was like Boll decided to LOTR with 1/3 of the budget. Burt Reynolds as a King? Ray Liotta as an evil wizard? An army of ninjas? How can than not provide some amount of entertainment? Although I think statham realised how crap it was, because he backed out of doing publicity for it, which pissed Uwe Boll off and he vowed to never to work with statham again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzlUvaaQp8I New York: I love you trailer, starring Shia Labouf,Ethan Hawke, John Hurt, Natalie Portman, maggie Q, Orlando Bloom and loads of other stars. Scarlett Johannson is also directing one of the films.
-
I don't think there's any if about it. Nolan is almost certainly doing the third one. Him and Christian Bale saying 'well, we might do another one...' is probably just another tactic to get more money. I can see Bale holding out for a $20-30 million check easily.

He's a better actor than most of the action stars out there, and unlike Stallone or Segal, is still young enough to be believable as a tough guy. I thought he was fantastic in crank. In the right role, he can be very good. But if the film is crap, he usually is too (War, Dungeon siege). I agree he's very hit or miss at the box office and I don't know if he'd ever be A list. Like I said, I think you're more likely to check out his films on dvd, rather than going to the cinema.
