He's young, handsome, a great talker, with a good message. Oh, yeah, and he was the only viable alternative to president Hillary. No wonder people have embraced him. Do I think race is factor in his popularity? Yes. But I would not, as Ferraro has said say ALL his success is because of that.

I'd point to his victories in lily white states like Iowa , Wisconsin and Maine to argue that point. I think it's offensive for ferraro to say Obama is only where he is because of white guilt. Anyone who thinks Obama hasn't been the target of racial slurs needs to look at Bill's behaviour in South Carolina, or that Kenyan picture, or Hillary's vague answer to whether or not he was a Muslim, or Joe Biden claiming how amazing it was that Obama was an african american who was 'articulate' and 'clean', and that Hussien thing Mccain had to apologise for.

In case anyone was wondering what the hell the Clinton's are up to, this is what's been making the rounds I'm weary of 'very inside democratic insider' but at this point, the only reason Hillary is staying in when the maths is so against her is to cheat somehow, so it's probable this is some sort of strategy. But, really, by all accounts, Obama has had a pretty scanal free life (except the rezko thing which he might be in the clear about), and I simply don't think he's dumb enough to have a mistress on the side or anything career damaging like that. I would like to nominate Laura Bush as the republican candidate now. Since clearly her eight years as first lady have qualified her to be commander in chief, if we go by Hillary's thinking. If you asked me Hillary's lowest point, it would probably be the deliberately vague 'as far as I know.' answer to the Muslim question on 60 minutes. Does she really think the people of America are going to say 'hmmm...maybe Barack really is an evil Muslim sleeper agent, after all since Hillary doesn't seem entirely certain'.

Only it comes crashing down when a younger, more charismatic (though not particulalrly qualified) guy comes out of nowhere, makes more money than her, out organises her and takes all her dreams away solely because he does good speeches and has a cool catchphrase . But, jeez, she should have never put herself in the position where she expected the presidency. Every other nominee, Edwards, Huckabee, Romney..etc sure they wanted to be president but you got the feeling they'd be fine if they didn't win and move on with their lives. Even Obama said he'd be fine with not winning. But Hillary? I think she's headed for a mental breakdown of sorts if she doesn't win.
