Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Atticus Chaos replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
No way is Vince going to settle. Michael benoit said he would take a $2 million settlement and they told him where to go. If Vince is adament WWE didn't have anything to do with what happened, which he apparently is, WWE will fight this out to the bitter end. -

The kids already have the money from the estate (upwards of $1 million). They won't go hunrgy. -
Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

So, what are people's thoughts on the potential lawsuit by the Benoit family against WWE? Is Michael Benoit right when he says Vince should have taken more responsibility for Chris? Personally, I'm more tempted to say that WWE aren't responsible for what happened and don't owe the Benoit's a cent . He was behaving normally, (only his close freinds knew something was amiss and I assume they didn't tell Vince), and they did give him time off when he asked, with pay, which showed they cared about his well being. I think it was Alvarez who said 'they could have done more' which is true, but don't know if I would blame them fully for what happened. -
From what I've read, most repubulicans are hoping Hillary wins because they're positive McCain or whoever it is can easily beat her. They think sheer loathing will bring out folks in their droves to vote against her. Is Hillary unelectable? I mean, if she can get the nomination , she's obviously not. But even now, I still have trouble picturing her winning the presidency. She's just too contraversial. Despite being a black man with an exotic family tree, Obama is still a lot safer of a figure to most Americans. She's got a lot going for her, money, connections, momentum and a devoted husband that sticks with her out of love and guilt, but I don't know if even she can erase the image everyone has of her. Or even if she wants to rid herself of the ice maiden image. I think it's unfair on Hillary because a lot of the people that dislike her, do so on a personal level. They would rather have a beer with Obama or something like that. However, if the 2000 election proves anything it's that the more likable guy (Bush) isn't always superior to unlikeable, more expereinced and qualified candidate (Gore). And whether or not anyone wants to admit it , there is some underlying sexism going on. Hillary doesn't show any emotion, she's a robot and too distant to be president. She cries, and suddenly she's emotional and that's why women can't be president. Her opponents, with the exception of Romney, were lining up to criticise her the first time she cried saying she couldn't handle the pressure. Hey, I like Obama a lot more than Hillary. But even I can't say his possible presidentcy would be that much better than hers.

Shane McMahon might be dead? I guess Vince wouldn't have been on Raw this week though. Sister's husband. Although I wouldn't put it past Vince to lose his beloved son and hours later still go on raw and show his ass. -
I don't know if I buy the 'she just died' explanation. If you're with some drunk girl and she drops dead like that, you call the police because you know whatever autopsy they do will prove you have nothing to do with it. I think the roofie scenario is likely. Even if he's not guilty of murder, aside from covering up a death he still sat back and watched her family suffer through all the uncertainty of not knowing, when he could have at least given them closure by just admitting what happened. It was either the reporter or the undercover guy that said, prison or not, he's getting a life sentence. He's going to have to live the rest of his life with this hanging over him.

If he had no charisma he wouldn't have been the 2nd most over guy in OVW behind Punk when he was there. Though I will admit the booking really helped, but still... There's a difference between getting over in front of so many hundred fans, and getting over in front of thousands of fans, and millions watching at home. Raven's a big hit on the indies, but in WWE fans were pretty indifferent to him.

The rumoured reason for HHH not being on raw is that his brother in law passed away over the weekend. -
Lashley was never over. At least, not as much as he should habe been consdering his push. His girly voice and lack of personality and charisma stopped him connecting to the masses. Heck, he didn't even sell much merchandise despite being the number 2 babyface on raw.

That victory was presented as a fluke. And directly after the match HHH was even LAUGHING about it to show it didn't matter to him, which made Jeff look even more weak. -
http://darkufo.blogspot.com The guy who runs it has been reliable with the lost info in the past, so I assume it's true.

Lost is apparently back filming now.

It's very odd how Hillary only gets teary eyed everytime Obama surges ahead in the polls, isn't it?

On the LAW Meltzer said they are eager for him to stay. The only thing I can suggest is hiring back Kristal. Bobby seems pretty smitten with her, and giving her her job back might be the thing that convinces him to stay.

I don't know. One look at Orton nowadays tells me he's certainly adhering to the wellness policy. -
Hey, it's one thing for the likes of Cena/Hogan to moan about pay, at least they are stars and proven draws. However, Lashley's role in that match could have done by anyone, but he was lucky enough to be chosen for it, and then he complains because he doesn't get enough as the genuine main eventers, despite the fact he's at best an over pushed mid carder.

Bobby Lashley hasn't yet agreed to the terms of the release WWE sent him. He had been medically cleared to return, but asked to be let go after talking to Johnny Ace. There's some heat on Ace for all the people who've left under his tenure with bad things to say about him. Lashley was upset about the size of his Mania payoff which was 250,000 dollars because the match brought in big money and he'd heard stories about other wrestlers getting over a million for Mania ME payoffs. A lot of workers felt he was just lucky to be on that spot on the card to begin with at that point of his career though. It also says he was mad that the company supported Michael Hayes, who had issues with Kristal. The stories about Kristal being upset about potential "racial overtones" in the Edge storyline was likely blown out of proportions, and whether there would have been racial elements to a Edge-Kristal pairing is unknown. Also, company souces said Lashley had become a PR problem for the company in the sense that local promoters were claiming he was difficult to work with when asked to do PR stuff and promote shows. His contract is a long term one, so WWE is in a position of power when it comes to Lashley's immediate future. Since he's the one who asked to be released and he had a long term contract, he'll probably have to sit at home and do nothing athletically for a while once he gets his release, which is why some think he may have to consider returning to the company. wrestling observer newsletter Who exactly is going to moan about $250,000 for wrestling a 15 minute match?

It's Nathan Jones apparently. -
Looking at the falling ratings (not catastrophic bad, but bad nontheless) it doesn't look like SCC is going to last. Pity, since it was fairly decent.

I find it mildly admirable she's going through with the pregnancy. Even if it does ultimately end up with Lynne Spears raising it. She could have just taken the easy way out for her life and her career but at least she's facing the consequences of what she's done and putting up with all the slurs and insults. Also, her sister is batshit insane which can't be fun. People should seriously cut her more slack. A scared 16 year old girl does not need to be the BUTT of late night comedian jokes or on the receiving end of national criticism about how dumb she is.

I meant Bill would be VP unofficially. Sort of like she was during Bill's time as president. Al Gore used to joke about how useless he felt, with those two in charge. And she might have trouble finding a quality running mate willing to accept that.
-
The Rudy campaign should be used as an example to potential candidates everywhere of what not to do...what the hell happened? Anyway, I'm guessing it'll be Hillary/McCain. And, unless Hillary churns out a few more tears or somehow becomes more likeable, McCain will probably win because he is still seen as reliable and has enough distance from the Bush adminstration. I actually think Hillary will have a tough time finding a convincing running mate. Let's face it: Bill is going to be the VP, and pretty much everyone knows it. Obama may have been an helpful option at one time, but the Clinton's have burned their bridges there. Edwards might be up for it though.

I don't know how paranoid it is when a lot of tv shows have done worse. The 24 staff took to using special dye with the scripts one year to prevent the finale getting out. The Lost people have put out false scripts to confuse fans. WWE havn't resorted to that...yet. -

Well, Kennedy got a clean win over HBK and is still in the exact position he was. I think MVP going to be star anyway, and it'll be the inevitable fued with Matt that does it rather than a Flair match. Just saying, if I'm Flair, I'd rather go out losing to the top heel on Raw rather than an unproven midcarder. . Let's face it: the Flair retirement is a mid card storyline that's been fairly flat thus far. Putting Orton in there will make it into a bigger deal. -

If Orton is out of the WM main event I can see them booking him to retire Flair as a consolation prize. It would fit in with his whole gimmick, and it's better for Flair to go out in a match with Randy rather than a mid carder (Kennedy, MVP).
