Alvarez didn't say it was a fake storyline. It was a fake bit of news. The Mae Young/Aurora Rose match is possible then. -

I don't think Meltzer has ever paid his sources. A lot of journalists don't. It's beyond me how someone like Lagana, who was supposed to be very protective of his job even resorting to backstabbing Heyman and sucking up to Steph to ensure his position, would be so stupid as to do the one thing that would guarantee his release. I can understand underpushed wrestlers venting their frustrations to a dirtsheet writer, but he had a pretty cushy job on creative. Why would anyone risk that? Anyway, what was the fake storyline they gave him? Please tell me it's the incest angle. -
Not only was Orton handed the title, but his reign has almost been as bad as Jericho's was back in the day. He's had one really nice decisive win in his *cough* third reign, and that was Jeff Hardy. At least Jericho could at least claim to have beaten Rock and Austin in one night. Orton beat a tired HHH after losing two hours earlier. Orton's reign was better than Jericho's every was. Aside from bad booking, Jericho never really performed in ring wise, his only good matches were with the Rock, his bouts with HHH and Austin were average at best. Say what you want about Randy but he's churned out great matches with HHH, HBK, Jericho and Hardy over the last four months.

Marking out is "OMG I am part of a historic moment", not "OMG I love this guy!" I think Hogan's a no-talent politicking piece of garbage who got where he is/was due to looks and charisma alone, but damn if I wouldn't have screamed my head off if they cranked up Real American after the #30 buzzer. If they were prepared to cheer him for being part of such a historic moment for just coming out, then surely winning it was an equally historic moment? It honestly just seemed like they got caught off guard, cheered their socks off because that was their natural reaction, then realized 'hey, we're the MSG crowd! The smarkiest of the smarks! We're supposed to hate this guy, remember?' and then gave a forced, unnatural reaction.
-
They'll no doubt tease which brand Cena will go to to get his title shot even though it's obvious: 'gee, who should I go after? A champion on the C show who has a title that means virtually nothing , Edge, who I finished fueding with ages ago and havn't had any problems with, or, hey! The guy who made my life a misery, assualted my dad, put me on the shelf for 4 months, and was then HANDED my title?' Although it would be funny to have Cena pretend he's going after the ECW title for a moment or two.
-
I agree that one of the funniest parts was the MSG crown cheering the hell out of Cena when we came out, then realising they were supposed to be 'smark fans' and going back to booing him by the end of the show. Really pathetic.

Honestly, I thought it was the opposite: they hoped Hillary would get the nomination because they consider her unelectable. She was, and still is, very alienating to a lot of voters. I'd have thought they'd be more worried about Barack or even Edwards winning. It's possible a lot republicans underestimated her and now realise her winning the presidency isn't totally out of the question.
-
I think Hillary would probably make a decent president- she almost certainly won't keep all her promises , but she won't make any major fuck ups like Bush will either. I've said before, she might be power mad but that doesn't mean she won't be good at the job. Maybe she has the attitude of do anything to get elected and then once she has the presidency try and change things for the better. Like her or not, she's a fiercely intelligent woman, and Bill will have a big role in her presidency if it happens, which wouldn't be a bad thing at all. I don't see how she could possibly be that terrible.

Rick Ross, cult expert and founder of the Rick Ross Institute, is interviewed by Radar Magazine regarding the Cruise video and Scientology Tom Cruise "Is Totally and Completely Indoctrinated" CRUISE, CONTROLLED Tom By now you've undoubtedly seen "The Video" (on the off chance you haven't, Gawker still has it up), in which it is established beyond all reasonable doubt that Tom Cruise, the once-irresistible leading man from such American classics as Top Gun and Risky Business, isn't playing on the same field as the rest of us. But where exactly is he playing? How did this happen? Is there any hope for him? For these answers and more, we chatted with Scientology expert Rick Ross, the founder of the Rick Ross Institute for the Study of Destructive Cults, Controversial Groups and Movements. Radar: So what's the first thing that strikes you about this video? Ross: It reveals the extent to which Tom Cruise views everything in the world through the lens of Scientology. He is totally and completely indoctrinated. He sees himself as the chief visionary of Scientology, and it's obvious that the Church perceives him that way, too. He's essentially become their number-one missionary. What's shocking is how fully the line between "Tom Cruise the person" and "Tom Cruise the Scientologist" has been erased. As evidenced by his reliance on all the lingo—KSW, SP, PTS ... Right. All of those acronyms are what I call "thought-terminating cliches." They are typically used by individuals who've been brainwashed, or are otherwise involved in cultlike behavior. Tom is not critically thinking. He is repeating over and over the dogma that has been drilled into him. He's a cheerleader, not a theologian. His single-mindedness is striking. Why is he so giddy? It's totally creepy. You have to remember that this is a recruitment tool that was not supposed to be seen by the general public. He's laughing, having a good time, having fun because he is a movie star and can afford to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to reach OT3 status, which is when you get to learn about the "incident" with Xenu and the intergalactic overlord and all that other nonsense hardcore Scientologists believe. He is trying to entice others to do the same. Remember, he's still Tom Cruise. What was with that bit about him being the only person in the world who could help if you were in a car accident? He's referring explicitly to "Touch Assists," wherein Scientologists believe that they can heal injured individuals simply by putting their hands on people. They even have "Volunteer Ministers" who show up at the sites of major disasters (9/11, the Virginia Tech massacre) wearing bright yellow vests trying to "address trauma." That's why he thinks that he's the only one who can help. Is there any way we can make him normal again? We kind of like the old Tom Cruise! It would be very, very difficult, for one reason: He actually thinks he is normal. Scientology has so consumed his life that he's living in a double cocoon: Not only is he separated from the public at large by his celebrity status and wealth, but by Scientology as well. You look at him and see a crazy person. He looks at you and sees someone who has yet to come around to Scientology. That's why he makes that remark about there one day being a world in which you can only find SPs (suppressive people) "in the newspaper." His goal is for everyone on Earth to attain "Clear" status—the mindset in which you have no unwanted emotions—so that they can then progress to Operating Thetan status. Nothing can deter him from this. Which is why he makes that statement, "I have to do something, because I can't live with myself if I don't." Right. He has cast himself as the number-one agent and face of Scientology in the world. He now lives, breathes, and thinks it to the degree that many would describe him as being "brainwashed." Would you? Yes. http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2008...cruise-post.php

A lot of people blamed method acting for Marilyn Monroe's death. In order to prepare for her roles she had to examine her own memories and analyse them, as per the method. Only with her it opened the floodgates when a lot of bad stuff surfaced and lead to a lot of the problems that would plauge her in later life.

I don't know if Ledger would get an oscar nomination for the joker. They're pretty snobby about comic book movies, Roger Egbert even said they would never nominate spiderman 2 for best picture because it wasn't artistic enough. They didn't even nominate Mickey Rourke for sin city and that was a travesty. The last unconvential nomination I can remember was probably Johnny Depp in Pirates of the caribbean.

WWE General Discussion - January 2008
Atticus Chaos replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in The WWE Folder
Chris Masters talking about the lockeroom finding out about Benoit. Pretty interesting insight from someone who was there. What an eerie day it was... It started two days prior to the announcement for me. Chris & I had our tights done by Rick Michaels. Rick had given a new pair of trunks I had made to Benoit to give to me. Chris was supposed to give those to me at the show we were going to do in Canada. When I got to the arena I was looking for him so I could grab my trunks. No Benoit! We were under the impression that his kid was sick. Chris was 100% dedicated to wrestling, so it was odd that he would not come, but understandable if his son was ill. The next night was a pay-per view, and still no Benoit. Very odd. Chris Benoit would never miss a big pay-per view, so we figured it might be serious. Vince decided to put the bell on Morrison in light of Benoit's absence, which I thought was awesome since he was a close friend of mine. RAW the following day... The next day at RAW TV there was a buzz going around about some odd text messages Chris had sent to Chavo Guerrero and one of the ECW referees. We were preparing for the funeral of Vince that was set to be the primary focus of the show. We all were asked to bring black suits for the supposed death of Vince McMahon. It was around 2:00pm when they gathered everyone ringside. We had no idea what was going on. Just figured it was a meeting just like any other we have had regarding the product and agents giving a refresher regarding dos & don'ts. The first thing I noticed was Randy Orton break out in tears after speaking with Michael Hayes. From there it was a chain reaction of tears, shock, and disbelieve amongst the whole roster. There were no details given about the cause. My first reaction was exactly what had happened. I mean how many different scenarios can there be: either home invasion or Chris snapping! To be perfectly honest, I respected the hell out of Chris Benoit for being the man that he was but there was always an intense energy coming from him every time I shook his hand. It made for sometimes short and awkward conversations. Not many others shared my thoughts on the possibility of a double murder/suicide. The rest of the day was a daze for me. I stayed to watch some of the tribute show, and then signed autographs for all the fans waiting outside. Tuesday Smackdown... I woke up the next morning to a nightmare I had of Chris stabbing his wife. I laid there and stared at the ceiling, hoping and praying that he wasn't responsible for what had happened. I called up Big Daddy V to find out details and news of what was going on. He asked me if I had watched the news yet. I told him I had just woken up to a horrible nightmare. Big V confirmed that nightmare. He told me double murder/suicide at which point my stomach dropped and my hard was beating so fast...It was an indescribable feeling! We were set to shoot Smackdown that night. It was tentatively set to be matches in honor of Chris, but I knew in my mind I wanted no part of that. I got a call at noon from the office telling me that Vince was having a meeting with all the boys at 1pm. I showed up to the meeting and in light of us discovering the details of what had happened, Vince stated that we would not be doing a tribute show to Chris. Our focus for that night was to go out there, wrestle, and put smiles of peoples faces because that's what we do. We had to move forward! A couple of hours later, we were all in catering and the news was on. We all watched as everyone was discussing what had happened and if it was steroids or what the cause was. We were all glued to the TV. Apparently we were all the primary focus on the news because of the unfortunate circumstances. The big question on a lot of people's minds was did WWE have any knowledge of what had happened when they ran the tribute show the first night. Some say yes, most of us don't know; however, I believe that if Vince or the office was aware of the situation, they wouldn't have ran the show that night! When Vince had the meeting with us earlier that day, he had a completely different energy than the night before on RAW. He was definitely very upset about the whole situation! People have asked me if I think Chris Benoit should be inducted in the Hall of Fame. There's no denying who he was and how much he contributed to the business, but it's hard to imagine praising someone for their acolytes in the ring when that person has committed such a horrible and incomprehensible act! Lets be honest, it would be very awkward and disturbing for all to watch a tribute show and applaud a man knowing that he had killed his wife and 8yr old child! I'm wrapping up for today, but all you WrestleZone .com marks are welcome to checkout my myspace for any questions or to check out where I'll be next... www.myspace.com/chrismordetzky See you all next time, Chris M http://www.wrestlezone.com/column.php?articleid=202976078 -
In terms of 'severe difference' if I'd have looked at Britney when she was 20, I'd have said she was was fairly normal, grounded young woman, like Page seems to be now. Heck, a few days ago I'd have said there was a huge difference between Britney now and Heath Ledger, but apparently there wasn't. If Ellen does win, she'll be one of biggest stars in the world and probably have the paparazzi all over her which I don't think anyone needs at that age. Really,I'd just hate her to end up like another one of these actors who got too much too soon and went crazy on drugs. I don't really know enough about her to say she wouldn't end up like that.
-
Ellen Page deserves to win for Juno but part of me hopes she doesn't. She's still quite young and it might be too much too soon. I'd just hate to see all the success and fame go to her head and her end up like Lohan/Spears/Renfro. I remember Mathew Perry saying something like 'getting everything you want in life when your 24 is not neccessarily a good thing'. Well, she's only 20 and an oscar can wait. I was sort of hoping Michael Cera would get a nod, but that probably was just wishful thinking.

The dark knight has been filmed, and is currently in post production. So, they won't have go the brandon lee route of using body doubles or CGI. Probably, they'll just deidicate the film to him.
-
Jeez, it wasn't even like he was Lindsay Lohan or one of these other actors connected to drugs. You never really heard anything like that about him. And, while it might be wrong of me to even think about movies the dark knight is going to reach cult levels now.

As far as a sequel goes

Any thoughts on who the final cylon is? A lot people think Cain, but I think that would too obvious now. Baltar likely isn't once since RDM has said he's the most human character on the show, and he's not going to give that up for a shock ending. Someonlike Gaeta or Dee would be a big let down since they're only b level chracters. Zarak is possible and it would be a nice shout out to the orignial shows fans to have the old captain Apollo revealed as a cylon.

I think Simon Cowell had a point. She's actually very lucky in her life and needs to realize that. There are people out there who have it a lot worse than her. They don't have enough food,money..etc. Heck, look at someone like Droz. How bad is her life compared to that? She's young, rich, attractive, healthy (well, she will be when she gets off the drugs) and the mother of two sons. She needs to count her blessings. And while I don't doubt there are a few enablers in her life, her family seems to have done everything they can to help her. Her family (and Kfed) staged an intervention a while back, and are still desperate to get her help. It's not like Anna Nicole where everyone is just standing back and letting it happen. People are eager to help, she just won't let them.
-
Someone asked if they were every going to make fun of Britney in an episode, and they said it was beyond funny now and they just didn't want her to die.
-
When the guys from south park won't make fun of you because they're genuinely worried and don't want you to die, you know you've got a problem. Anyway, she really needs to be commited. Just to stop her from killing herself. I'm not even sure how this she's avoided it so far.
-
I actually think Hillary would make a good president. I'm not denying she'll do virtually anything to get elected, but that doesn't mean she's going to abuse that power as soon as she gets it. You can be power mad and still good at your job. She seems to have learned from a lot of her mistakes, especially regarding healthcare. Anyway, the American publics standards have lowered in what they expect in a president. As long as doesn't fuck up as much as Bush did, she'll probably get a second term. She might never be beloved, but no one is denying she's serious. Of course, she has to get elected first. Which is going to be considerbly difficult considering the amount of people who said they won't even consider voting for her. I don't think she's unelectable like some have said, but it will be difficult. More tears, I think.
-
Don't get me wrong, I actually think McCain probably would make the better president out of everyone on the republican side, but I don't think he can win. And if he did get the nomination, he strikes me as too honourable to take part in or encourage the inevitable Obama smear campaign that the republicans will come out with to stop his momentum. I know how that might sound, but I have enough respect for him to think he wouldn't run that dirty a race.
-
As far as the press is concerned...Obama winning is simply a better story. McCain might have a lot of support, but, superficially at least, Obama is more appealling to a lot of people. I think McCain's age (I remember reading one in five of the electorate openly admit they wouldn't vote for someone that old) and general anti republican sentiment will work against him. No doubt he'll play the 'I fawt for ma country' card, and that might get him far compared to Barack, but he won't get the the youth vote like Obama will: he doesn't have the relatability factor or the special aura surrounding him that he does. If Obama turns into a phenomonen (although arguably he already has) you do not counter that with someone like McCain.
