Eight people killed in Omaha Mall

I read one of the victims actually survived 9/11. Which has to suck. Kind of like that girl who survived Columbine and Virginia tech. I agree about Cho, though. He was so desperate to be famous, but didn't even think ahead to giving himself a snazzy name. -
I have to disagree with people that says only 1% of the audience would get Joe's shoot (Alvarez). It's not that difficult to grasp: Hall doesn't show, Joe gets mad, Joe puts over the younger guys and says the old guys are lazy and don't care, Joe gets Eric Young because he's an x division guy and can be relied upon. You don't have to be an internet fan to get that scenario. If you did base a Joe/Nash feud around this you wouldn't need to have a backstory or be in the IWC to understand it: Joe thinks Nash is old, lazy and indifferent and wants the company to be more about the younger guy. People can probably relate to that situation because maybe it happens in their jobs. The problems would only really start if Russo starting writing stuff about the clique, bckstage politics and other stuff that most people wouldn't get. But so far, Russo (if the whole turning point promo wasn't a shoot) hasn't scripted anything that casual fans couldn't easily understand. And I'm not a big fan of his, by any means.

WWE would like Carlito to stay with the company after he gave his notice a few weeks ago. However, he is leaning towards leaving in a few weeks. On the heels of Booker T leaving WWE a few weeks ago, apparently they don't want another huge WWE name to make the jump to TNA and that's why they want to keep him around. Carlito wants to leave the company because he is upset with how the company has treated him in recent months not to mention that he feels WWE has tried to humilate him. wrestling observer newsletter -
Bryan Alvarez seems to think the whole Nash/Joe fight is a work with Russo's fingerprints all over it. I kind of have to agree: Nash isn't as protective of his legacy as other wrestlers, he's freely admitted to being in wrestling solely for the cash and doesn't give a shit what anyone else thinks. Joe calls Nash a lazy old fart, Nash's most likely response would be 'yeah, so?'.

Well, it has got everyone talking. Heck, they might even shift a few more replay buys. Except anyone who would know something strange went down at the PPV would simply check the promo out online for free and save their money. I think the Joe promo combined with the buzz around the women's title match and Kong's post match massacre probably will give turning point a higher than average replay buy number. Some people don't neccessary want to wait a couple of days for it all to show up online. Why would anyone shell out $30 for a promo, one match, that's not getting MOTY buzz, and a post-match attack? One great promo, one incredibly heated match (if only average from an wrestling POV) and one of the best heel performances I've seen from any wrestler ever. Actually it wasn't a great promo by any means. A promo sells something. Joe was just a pissy childish rant. Joe was complaining, but he had a legitimate reason to be angry. Nash going on the mic, apologising for Hall, and then quickly brining on Young wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world but it would have been very flat. And the main event sucked anyway, Joe's speech was the only memorable thing about the whole thing. I don't think it's something that only insiders got either, which has been another criticism of it . A casual fan would have known exactly what he was getting at.

Oh, Joe's been planning that speech for a while.

Scott Hall's last voice contact with anyone was Sunday morning. As the afternoon went on, and he didn't show up on time and wasn't answering his phone, concern grew he was going to no-show. There was hope even during the show that he'd finally make it to the building. Then he sent a text message or voice mail saying he had food poisoning and couldn't make it. -Kevin Nash was disappointed and felt let down by Hall no-showing. -Samoa Joe was asked to go to the ring, cut a promo on Hall to try to take the heat off of the company for a major star no-showing, and then shift to putting over the guys on the roster and finally introduce Eric Young as the replacement. Joe's promo went more than five minutes longer than planned and incorporated a lot more content, especially that aimed at Nash, than was planned. -When Joe leaned over the top rope and asked someone off camera if they were mad, then shrugged and said, "Go ahead and fire me, I don't care," he was looking at TNA President Dixie Carter. She was legitimately upset with him "going into business for himself" and taking so long. Nash was legitimately upset that Joe turned Hall's no-show into a rant against him. (What's ironic is that Nash is one of the key people who pushed hard for an extended period of time to get TNA management to take interest in signing Joe when he was in ROH; Nash was a big fan of Joe's ROH matches he saw on DVD.) -After the match, Nash returned to the back right away and waited for Joe. When Joe returned to the back, Nash confronted him and a heated verbal exchange with some shoving ensued. Joe backed down and avoided the situation escalating. -At an all-talent meeting today, Terry Taylor brought everyone's contract with him. Dixie Carter said that if anyone was upset and unhappy with their job in TNA, they would be willing to void their contract on the spot. Senshi took them up on the offer. (Senshi also happened to be one of the people who grabbed a brief case in the "Feast or Fire" match.) -Joe was the first wrestler to speak at the meeting. He gave an emotional apology for going overboard the night before and said he hoped his apology would be accepted. -Booker T and Kurt Angle gave pep-talks about staying positive and keeping things moving in the right direction pwtorch.com

On the heels of the recently strengthened WWE Wellness Policy -- which is supposed to close some of the loopholes -- there is a huge fear among some of the wrestlers about getting fired due to it because there isn't a viable "WCW-like" promotion out there. TNA isn't perceived to be on the same level as WCW because there's a lot less money and exposure. While TNA has a rep for hiring talent fired for drug issues in WWE, at this point, they're not going to take a fired WWE wrestler who lost his job over a drug test failure unless he is a top level star or friends with the right people in TNA -- and that's a pretty small list. wrestling observer newsletter

Dawn Marie recently did an interview with SLAM! Wrestling noting that she's interested in coming to TNA. However, her name hasn't come up with the writing team. Also, there may be potential issues between one or two major stars in TNA, as well as road agent Pat Kenney, her former fiancee. wrestling observer newsletter 'The major stars' are probably the Angles.

From TMZ.com: Hulk and Wife Headed for Divorce Court Hulk and Linda HoganTMZ has obtained a document from the Pinellas County Court website which states that Hulk Hogan's wife has filed for divorce. According to the document, Linda Marie Bollea (Linda's married name) filed for divorce on Tuesday, November 20 against Terry Gene Bollea (the Hulk's legal name). I think his third daughter came out of a relationship he had when he was seperated from Vickie. -
She reportedly had a bit of a diva reputation in WWE. During summerslam 2000 she insisted Vince give Kurt more money for finishing the match, and she was vocally critical of RVD when he first came in on account of him busting people open all the time.
-
True, she's only there because she's married to Kurt, but she's about ten times more entertaining than Vickie Guerrero, Sara Calloway, Rena Mero or any other woman who got her spot due to family connections.

The thanksgiving segment was very hit or miss. There were some funny moments (' I didn't know Kamala was coming' and 'don't worry honey they won't eat you') but it probably was a few segments too long.

Question: If Vickie looked like Karen Angle would people be more tolerant of her on screen character and willing to give the Edge storyline a chance? A lot of the time I wonder if the Vickie criticism comes from people being unhappy about the Eddie exploitation or they just don't like having an unattractive women on their tv screens. Yeah, she can't talk and doesn't have much in the way of charisma, but that goes for most of the women in WWE, but they don't get anywhere near the criticism she does. -

Vickie and Edge? That's so...wrong. Just the thought of them making out is mind boggling. Its even weirder than Mark Henry and Mae Young.
